By the way, why are you inserting Hebrew names into the Greek scriptures? That seems dishonest and confusing.

Because they somehow feel that using the Hebrew name makes them more holy and closer to God than those who don't. It showcases their intelligence and negates the cross. In other words it appeals to the flesh.

Yeremyah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds; Who devise; plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal."

Proverbs 30:4, "Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound up the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name? And what is the
Name of His Son? Tell me, if you know!
"

What is evident here is this....

Those few who hold to a seventh day sabbath have dug into the scripture and use it for their reasoning.

Most of those who don't, do so from emotions and parroted comments that have been inherited by them from those before them. They are also the ones who decline to defend, with scripture their arguments if we don't accept them. Instead they go personal.

ANd they would claim to be the "True Christian' here, I presume, since I'm evil and "keep the law" in their eyes.

:|

I gotta tell you, I"m SOOO impresssed.

Is there a problem with sticking to the arguments, and the thinking and the scripture, rather than going personal? I've pointed out it was happening and nothing happened. I've moved on to mirroring that behavior back at people? And nothing happens. Is that the best there is here?

Actually that is how I feel about Sabbatarians. So lets look at Col. 2:16 again and prove to me that Sabbath (Sabbaton) means something else in that context than what I claim it is saying.

Notice how the KJV has placed the word day after the word Sabbath.

We can discuss the scripture mechanics all day but by the blood on the cross God's grace is abound to us to live in a kingdom of righteousness of the spirit that is His truth where sin does not abound for we are a peculiar people a nation of kings and priest of God forever

2 Timothy 3:16 [SUP]16 [/SUP]All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Leviticus 23:1-3 23 the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, [SUP]2 [/SUP]“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations ( times to meet with the LORD), these are My feasts.

The first one that is written is the Sabbath and no where in the Bible is this changed. He said this day was a holy convocation and that it was to be remembered and guarded from generation to generation. That means not done away with.

The Sabbath

[SUP]3 [/SUP]‘Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

Amen! Praise God! Saying anything else is completely unbiblical and is speaking on your own accord not God's. Well said brethren

So are you tying to forget the name of Jesus or are you tying to make the Greek scriptures appear Hebrew?

Notice how the KJV has placed the word day after the word Sabbath.

A key word here is "placed" it is in italics and therefored ADDED.

If you look to verse:

22which are all for destruction with the using, after the commands and teachings of men

The 7th day Sabbath is not a commandment of men, therefore in context he is not speaking against the Commandment of Yahweh, he is speaking agaist thigs men have incorperated, Talmudic and Roman things.

If Sunday or Saturday is your Sabbath and place your faith in that work. I would say that you are risking being one of those that said Lord, Lord we have danced in your name, yet He say's depart from for I never knew you. What is the object of you faith. what you can do our what Christ did for you. Please accept the latter.

We can discuss the scripture mechanics all day but by the blood on the cross God's grace is abound to us to live in a kingdom of righteousness of the spirit that is His truth where sin does not abound for we are a peculiar people a nation of kings and priest of God forever

Romans 6:1,2 - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

What is the law?(10 commandments)

James 4:17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Matthew 15:8,9 These people draw near to Me with their Mouth,
And honor Me with their lips.
But their heart is far from Me,
Teaching as Doctrines the commandments of men.'

16‘So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’ 17It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; Exodus 31:16-17

How could the Sabbath be a sign between God and Israel, if modern day gentiles were expected to keep it? Doesn't this verse exclude Gentiles such as most of us?

So are you tying to forget the name of Jesus or are you tying to make the Greek scriptures appear Hebrew?

One there is a real hebrew version of the book of Mattithyah, I am trying to use the REAL Names of the Father, Yahweh, and the Messiah Yahshua. The Messiahs real Name was never Iosus or Jesus, I care not for what man has invented, I care only for the truth of Yahweh. Hundreds of times the importance of HIS NAME is spoken of, this is Yahweh Himself saying this, who am I to disagree?

Yahyl 2:32, "And whoever will call with the Name of Yahweh will be delivered; for in Mount Zion in Yerusalem here will
be deliverance, as Yahweh has said, among the remnant of those whom Yahweh calls."

Acts 4:10-12, "Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israyl, that in the Name of Yahshua Messiah of Nazareth, Whom you nailed on a stake, but Whom Yahweh raised from the dead--by Him does this man stand here before you,
healed. This is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the Head stone of the corner, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

How could the Sabbath be a sign between God and Israel, if modern day gentiles were expected to keep it? Doesn't this verse exclude Gentiles such as most of us?

Romans 9:6-8, "However, it is not as though Yahweh's plan had failed. For it is not everyone who is a descendant of Israyl who belongs to Israyl. Nor, just because they are his descendants, are they all Abraham's children; but: In Isaac will your seed be called. That is, it is not those who are the children of the flesh who are Yahweh's children; but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's seed."

Galations 3:28,29, "Is there not the Yahdai as well as the Greek; Gentile? Is there not the slave as well as the freeman? Is there not the male and the female? For all of you must be in unity in Yahshua Messiah. And if you are in Messiah, then
you are a seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise."

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing dany evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which eplease Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

*Sign is Word #226, Hebrew Dictionary, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, meaning mark, token, sign, consent, flag, evidence of consent.

Exodus 31:13-17, "Speak also to the children of Israyl, saying; Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for they are a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am Yahweh Who sanctifies you, and makes you holy"....16-17, "Therefore the children of Israyl shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the
children of Israyl forever, for in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, and on the Seventh Day He rested and was refreshed."

Ezekiel 20:12, "Moreover, I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh Who sanctifies them."

Hezekiah, why place your faith in something that has no power to save nor deliver. Do you think that by keeping Sabbath you have done God a great service. Is there anything that you can do. You, knowingly or not, are negating the work of the cross. I know the cross offends many, because it shows that you can do nothing, only this, accept what has been given and say thank you. That is all.

How am i negating the blood of the Messiah (as it is the blood that cleansed me not a piece of wood) by showing love and obedience to Yahweh?

Also why not refute my Scriptual stances with Scripture instead of putting words in my mouth (or really intention) as i have stated over and over none is saved by works/Law, yet you claim i am negating mercy?

And this commentyou meade:

Really? because i choose to call upon Yahweh the way He says am i "negating the cross?" how does that even work? say a hebrew word or the real Name of the Creator and you are fallen?

Are we talking about Col 2:16?? Or some other verse?

If you are the word "Sabbaton" can mean the 7th day, a week, or the Sabbath day.

This verse is not speaking about what mean have perverted. It is saying "Don't let others be your judge in matters of...". You are wildly inserting, deleting whole concepts to attampt to prove a point that is not there. This verse is quite simple.

Do not let others judge you in
1) Meat
2) Drink
3) with respect to a (Jewish) holiday
4) a new moon (Jewish calendars were based on the moon and new moons were celebrated.)
5) or of the Sabbath days.

There is not a word in this passage about men changing things. That is pure wishful thinking on your part.

I dont disagree with what your saying in what is written in the verse 2:16, my point is that to use this as a witness against the Commandments of Yahweh is misuse, bear with me here I will explain:

Colossians 2:16-23, "16Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths, 17which are a shadow of the coming things, and the body [is] of the Christ; 18let no one beguile you of your prize, delighting in humble-mindedness and [in] worship of the messengers, intruding into the things he hath not seen, being vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh, 19and not holding the head, from which all the body — through the joints and bands gathering supply, and being knit together — may increase with the increase of God.20If, then, ye did die with the Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances? 21— thou mayest not touch, nor taste, nor handle — 22which are all for destruction with the using, after the commands and teachings of men, 23which are, indeed, having a matter of wisdom in will-worship, and humble-mindedness, and neglecting of body — not in any honour, unto a satisfying of the flesh."

Ithink we have v16 down, I want to focus on 20-23, as to see context. Shaul (Paul) in nearly all his thoughts talks about a topic and then goes on to explain, he uses an advanced style of writing as his (worldly) education was beyond that of the other NT writers.

20If, then, ye did die with the Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances?

So he is saying if your dead to the world why would you subject yourself to its (the worlds) ordinances. To think he is saying if your dead to the world then why would you subject yourself to Yahweh"s/Yahshua's Commandments would make no sense, but he explains it further.

21— thou mayest not touch, nor taste, nor handle
the pharisees had a law in which you could not eat meat and cheese togather, or even within 4 houhs of eachother. Now this is not in Yahweh's Law even, Yahweh's Law says dont boil a child in its mothers milk (3 times) (the local pagans had this as a religious practice Yahweh did not want His people to partake in these evil pagan practices) the pharisees using something called "midrashic interpretation" the pharisees looked at it and said well since it says this three times it must meant three different things. SO THEY MADE UP THEIR OWN LAW, that was completely disconnected from Scripture and enforced it as from Yahweh.

22
which are all for destruction with the using, after the commands and teachings of men, So here very clearly he states "the commandments of men", now if you read from 16-20 you see he stays on topic, and 20 says basically if your dead to the world why do what the world tells you, so we can see he is still on this topic from v16. In this verse 22, he says "which are all for destruction", how does Sabbath lead to destruction and it would also have to be a "commandment of men" if there is ant commandment that is the farthest thing possible from being a "commandment of men" it is the Sabbath, it was from creation and it shows the AUTHORITY of the Creator, the mark of the Creator. Also tying a "commandment of men" to destruction Romans 8:13, "For if you live according to the
commandments of men, you will die; but if, through the Spirit, you put to death; put an end to, the evildoing of
mankind, you will live."
23which are, indeed, having a matter of wisdom in will-worship, and humble-mindedness, and neglecting of body — not in any honour, unto a satisfying of the flesh.

Pleasing of the pharisees by following the talmud. v22 for context = "after the commands and teachings of men"

you see the pharisees would have a problem if you did things according to Yahweh's instruction and not their ORAL LAW, this is shown in MATT 15, 23, mark 7:7-9, etc

Also i want to add you wrote:

3) with respect to a (Jewish) holiday
4) a new moon (Jewish calendars were based on the moon and new moons were celebrated.)

the jews did make their own holidays, Haunnaka and Rosh hashanna. when they left babylon they even changed the names of the moons (months), and rosh hashanna even changes the time of the new year, commandment and ordinances of men. the calendar Yahweh instuted is Yahweh's calendar, the one who created the heavens and the earth. Our current calendar is the gregorian calendar, which goes back to the bablonian calendar. Yahweh said the days end and begin at sunset, not the jews.

Hebrews 4:3-6, "However, we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: So I vowed in My wrath, They will not enter into My rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world, For He spoke in a certain place of the
Seventh Day
, in this way: And Yahweh rested the Seventh Day from all His works. And in this place again: If they will
enter into My brest. Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,"

The above translation is a misrepresentaion of what Hebrews 4:4 actually says. The word day is not present in the first sentence; it merely says the seventh. There are many instances in the bible of the number 7, or the 7th, indicating completeness and rest. The reason the 7th day of creation is mentioned is to draw attention to the 7th, which signifies rest from labor. Here is a better representation of what this verse says.

For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh in this way: “[example 1],” and
again in this passage, ‘[example 2]’ ” Hebrews 4:4-5

The first example is the seventh day of creation (not the weekly sabbath), and the second example is the promise of the rest of the land of Israel for the wandering Israelites. So Hebrews 4:4 has nothing to do with the weekly sabbath. In fact, the weekly sabbath isn't even mentioned in Hebrews 4:4; it refers to the 7th day of creation. The two are not the same, even though the former was instituted to draw attention to the latter. The author used the seventh day of creation, not the weekly sabbath, to draw attention to the eternal rest that GOD entered into on the 7th day of creation, and that remains for his people to enter into with him.

Yes day in verse 4 was supposed to be italicized that was my mistake in not italicizing, however you claim is false, because the second time day is mentioned it is in the original, clearly talking about the 7th day, made holy from creation, the 7th day Sabbath is a rehersal of the prophetic shadow picture of the 1000 year reign of the Messiah. This verse is clearly talking about the 7th day Sabbath.

The seventh day of creation is not the weekly sabbath. The latter was merely a memorial pointing to GOD, who rested in the former. That rest has never ended, and remains for his people to enter into. That is what Hebrews 4:4 is referring to; an eternal rest, not a one-day-a-week, temporal rest. The weekly sabbath isn't even mentioned in verse 4.

i was saying the 7th day was made holy from creation, I dont disagree that the TRUE rest is the Kingdom of Yahweh, that is why I said: "the 7th day Sabbath is a rehersal of the prophetic shadow picture of the 1000 year reign of the Messiah." which none have entered yet. there is nothing in the NT saying not to keep Sabbath, and if you want to point to Col 2:16 please check out post #276, to see my views, you may disagree, but that is my stance and i think Scripture clearly shows that when verses arent isolated.

peace to you in Yahweh brother
