Brother, remember that I simply "posed a question." Did not offer an answer/opinion. Let me do that now. As I read the passage of Scriptures in question, this is what I "receive" from them.
Even though the Apostle had no way to know that his Epistles would ONE DAY become part of Holy Scripture, and a large part of what we know as The New Testament, GOD DID! If anyone doubts that Scripture is "God inspired," here is the proof. That being said, the passage written does give us an insight into the thoughts of the Apostle at the time he was writing his Epistles, and that can help us understand the context in my opinion.
I don't know anyone who disagrees with 2nd Timothy 3:16, and the ONLY WAY to see the prophetic value of the Apostle's writings is that it was God inspired in my opinion.
To your concerns: How exactly do you wish to conduct a Bible Study? A study of Scripture? If we don't select a Scripture, or passage of Scriptures, post them, and then offer our opinions as to what is being taught/said, how else would we do it?
The mistake we make is in "assuming" what others believe without their having posted what they believe or think Scripture is saying/teaching.........it's kinda like when the Apostle said something like: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger......and NOW you see that I do not disagree with you, and your concerns were not necessary........
God bless
