Anyone else bothered with the Pledge of Allegiance?

And yes, the nation claims to be under God, but the pledge isn't allegiance to that God, Just the nation.
Where should my allegiance lie?
And should I have 2 allegiances?

Dunno, it's whatever you feel........I personally have no problem with the Pledge, nor believe it replaces my love for and allegiance to the Lord God...........God said something like: If my people will turn from their sinful ways, I will heal their Nation.....so, to me, it's ok to love both God and our Nation.......just as we love God and our families/church families.....whatever......JUST BE SURE GOD IS FIRST

Actually, I think it is perfectly acceptable to have allegiance to my country, it just doesn't come before God or my family. God is first...

Maybe everyone does not see it this way, but it works for me.
Expecting schoolchildren to say the pledge makes me very uncomfortable.
Running the flag up the flagpole in our yard every morning with my Dad and saying the pledge, made me very proud. I hope to do the same with my kids.
But demonstration of allegience should be a voluntary action, not something done under the direction of an authority figure or otherwise expected. Otherwise it's much too easy to get into a mindset where atrocities can occur.

Actually, a young child should be taught proper allegiance to country. If right principles are not taught by God-fearing parents and adults, there is one who is more than ready to step in and teach them allegiance to the wrong principles. Witness our society today, those who are left on their own to make their own decisions, do not make their own decisions...

If some one has a problem with it , then
it is most likely because of socialist ,liberal, political correctness that people fall victim to .
Too many people think its healthy to attack anything that is patriotic and loyal to ones country, its history, that is part of the heritage of the people if America . The pledge of allegiance has under God in it, this country was established by God, and it is a Christian nation from the start. But that's starting to change for the worse as we can see has : / Because its the pledge has God mentioned in it ?
It is good to be loyal to the country that protects the rights of people to believe what religion they want . But people have gotten fat, and full of themselves, to think its okay to take the pledge away.
If people are uncomfortable with it ; that should be their personal problem .
The pledge should be absolutely mandatory in this country. Every country has one. And country's that are not united under one common unity to its heritage, and really stop being a country before too long.
Its sad what this is even a issue. This is a resent new, thought. It was good considered bad more now then ever before.

I don't say it, but if I did, I would just let the flag be Jesus and United States of America be the church.

John 18:36 "Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
Matthew 6:24 "24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
Like I said, I'm thankful God placed me in this country and I love that I live here. It seems wrong to pledge allegiance to something other than God. To me, allegiance almost seems to say that you're subservient to something else, or obligated to serve it. And while we are to respect the authorities above us, even secular (and I've been a government employee for over 10 years now), I wouldn't say I'm devoted to it.
Maybe the issue is more about the flag itself, rather than the nation. The wording of the Pledge states that the allegiance is to a symbol of the nation, not the nation itself. Could that be considered idolatry?

Humorous side note....
My wife and I were watching Olympus Has Fallen the other night. When the terrorists are interrogating the president and his staff, they get to one of the ladies (can't remember her title) and they drag her off to supposedly kill her, and she starts screaming the Pledge of Allegiance.
We both thought, "Really? That's what you would scream? That's what is going to convict the terrorists or cause them to have mercy on you?"
Seemed a little cheesy to us.

Esau had no respect for his heritage, and he sold it for a bowl of red mush . God hated him for the kind of person he was. ( and things he did before )
This is no different the case. If a people don't care for their heritage, they can end up loosing it. Reciting the Pledge of allegiance to a flag is not sacrilegious ,that's being a religious fanatic to the point one cant even be aware the pledge teaches the nation is under God...
You stop or stop a nation in mass from resiting the American Pledge of allegiance , you also take God out that picture also...
I mean really think about it, to stop saying it, regardless if it teaches God in connection to this country , then that's bad... I know God would Approve of any allegiance to a flag He established to begin with also mentions that fact in it..

I don't fall under any of those labels that you have given and I have also served this country as an active duty Airman and I don't believe that it should be absolutely mandatory. "Blind" patriotism is just as bad as the quasi patriotism that came after 9/11. Nothing is wrong with being loyal to a country, but in school we say the pledge and then proceed to learn tidbits of skewed history. While being a nation under God (which was added in the 50s btw), we have had the slave trade, manifest destiny which led to the killing and displacement of many Native Americans, the Civil War, Jim Crow, and I don't know what to call the era we live in now. The country doesn't protect our right to practice the religion that we choose but it is the Constitution, which is what I said I would defend when I enlisted.
With that being said, anyone can say the pledge to their hearts content but my loyalty should not be measured on me saying reciting a 20 second pledge. But I have no issues with the pledge itself nor get an uneasy feeling about it if someone says it.

No - most countries don't have a pledge of allegience. Nazi Germany did; the US does. Most other free countries don't.
The Pledge is on its way out as a public display, and that is definitely for the best.
Why do you believe that country doesn't protect our right to practice the religion we choose? Quite a bit has been done to protect this.
