Show me where you have authority to demand people to go search prophecies for you so you can test them. If you despise prophesyings from the get go, how are you going to test them?

- it makes COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE/REVELATION (which GOD GAVE in ALL OF SCRIPTURE) superior to PARTIAL.you can read the WHOLE thing today. if you started studying as a kid and never stopped, you'd know everything Paul is recorded to have known AND THEN SOME. because you have everything all in one place - including the visions of New Jerusalem John saw, by which time the others had died or been killed. so did THEY live to see the COMPLETE COME?

I agree with you that the men on the day of Pentecost were fake, but if you maintain that tongues were fake, then how can you hold that Acts 2 is telling the truth?
When Paul says that he 'speaks with tongues more than ye all' in the context of discussing a spiritual gift, do you think he wasn't talking about a spiritual gift of tongues?
And why wouldn't the gifts of the apostles be charismata also? Don't they come from grace? Paul said he outlabored the other apostles, yet not he, but the grace that was with him. Don't you think God's grace (charis) worked through Paul when he did what you called 'apostolic gifts.' If so, then why would they not be charismata?

no - paul clearly said WE WHO WERE FIRST TO HOPE....then THEY ALSO, when they HEARD the....what? gibbering? OR THE GOSPEL.
or is he saying they received forgiveness of sins and the Comforter, the down payment on God's purchased possession?
THE NEW COVENANT WAS THE PROMISE.
WITH THE LIVING HOLY SPIRIT AS THE GIFT.

if one thousand trillion "christians" today manifest stuff claiming they have the gifts fake it, & if one thousand trillion "christians" keep lying to themselves and others, and and make the joy of the simple Gospel of salvation into a circus, GOD'S WORD IS STILL TRUE & CHANGES NOT.

Where does testing not allow it? When John says to test the spirits is that not to verify the spirit behind it?

I don't think I've endorsed a single person the whole time I've been on this forum. Maybe you have your posters mixed up.
You've endorsed a lot of ideas that contradict scripture, sometimes in the name of a doctrine about scripture.

Of course, I don't agree with notuptome that speaking in tongues is fake, and I believe that the apostles spoke in tongues genuinely, and that many people do so today.

Why should First Corinthians contain more teaching on tongues than any other book of the Bible? The answer is simple: The Church of Corinth was a very confused church. This Church 1) had divisions among themselves based on personalities (I Corinthians 1:10-13, 3:1-11), 2) they were mixed up on, of all things, the resurrection (I Corinthians 15), 3) they were taking each other to court (I Corinthians 6:1-8), 4) they tolerated immorality (I Corinthians 5:1-13, 6:15-20), 5) they were confused about marriage and divorce (I Corinthians 5:1-13, 6:15-20), 6) they were mixed up about Christian liberty (I Corinthians 8), 7) they did not understand their responsibilities concerning the Great Commission (I Corinthians 9:1-14), 8) they had idolatry (I Corinthians 10:7, 14-22), 9) they had insubordinate man and women (I Corinthians 11:3-15, 14:34-35), 10) they were sinning at the Lord’s Supper (I Corinthians 11:20-34), and 11) they were confused concerning spiritual gifts in general (I Corinthians 12), and tongues in particular (I Corinthians 14). The Church of Corinth was really messed up, and almost all of Paul’s first letter to them was rebuking them for their various errors. They were in so much error on spiritual gifts that Paul wrote three whole chapters to try to straighten them out especially on tongues (I Corinthians 12-14).
New Testament Tongues Versus The Modern Tongues Movement
The Corinthians had their faults, but the epistle is still profitable for doctrine. It has some of the most in-depth passages that instruct us in regard to what to do in our church gatherings, both in terms of the Lord's Supper and spiritual gifts.
It is sad, though, that the Corinthians were so immature, yet they knew of and experienced spiritual things many churches today have little knowledge or experience of.

could you please name a prophet or apostle alive today or back through time (not the Biblical ones) that you endorse?
if you don't know of any - how can that be when there are millions of them, and you claim they exist?
