Scripture for Scripture then, Josh....

Matthew 5:17-20: "
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

Jesus>Paul.

HERE you dishonest evasive, attempting to save face man, is where you put, in your own words, "scripture against scripture", to imply JESUS words, override Pauls.

Until you can accept both scriptures as correct as written, you are a gong clanging in the wind.

It makes perfectly good sense, if accepting Paul's words with equal merit as Christ's would mean you had to change your view on Christ's. WHEN you ask a scared person to change their beliefs, the unsurety freezes them and they take any boat in a storm. I.E. Jesus words mean more than Paul's so you have to take this verse I post for what I THINK IT MEANS because Paul's verse disagrees.

Then watch them scramble and deny what they have done.

It's sad, and sick, at the same time.

Wow... Paul was wrong? Paul wrote mistakes and false teaching in to the word of God??? Is that even possible???

Of course not. God would not allow His word to be mixed with error. I hope you re-think this line of reasoning.

it's just do will find ever single excuse to continue living in their illusion of life despite how ridiculous it might sound, i'm not too sure he was listening to himself when he wrote that, it sounds like he was trying to say it doesn't matter what the bible say if jesus didn't say it it's not relevant that's exactly what he is trying to say and it's so sad that they can't see their error or second guess themselves to see that they're wrong it's like telling a drug addict he is an addict what will they do? deny it and say i'm perfectly fine that is what is going on here

Pardon me, but WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO IMPLY THEY DO NOT? EVEN TO IMPLY THEY MAY NOT? You are one to deny the divinity of scripture. There is not a way possible that they would not. You are posturing to discredit something Paul wrote to suit your own theology.

Actually Dan, I'm not saying Paul is wrong at all. (And again, I challenge anyone to find a post where I said Paul was wrong. It doesn't exist. Some people would like to infer that, but they're mistaken. BTW, take a look at the post of mine that you quoted...My 2nd sentence is "Paul isn't wrong". Yet your 1st sentence is "Wow...Paul is wrong?" Please be sure to recognize what I'm saying before making false accusations.)

I'm saying that he's right. He has to be right. God anointed Him. God gave him truth to speak. Every word Paul spoke in the Scriptures is 100% true.

You've misunderstood my point, though. I'm saying that Paul's words have to line up with Jesus' words for both of them to be consistent and authentic. If they disagree with one another, we've got a problem because then either Jesus is wrong, or Paul is wrong. But we all know that's not the case. They're both right because they both agree with each other.

So because Jesus is God, and He is the one that gives us salvation, life and truth, that's our foundation. That's all the disciples had for a time. And then they went out and spoke about the salvation, life and truth that Jesus gave them. And that's the same thing Paul did.

My whole point with all this is that Jesus' words are the original. Paul's words will line up with that, but his words aren't the original.

And that's no disrespect to Paul.

Peace,
Matt

Of course, Make a ridiculous statement that exposes you that you can't talk your way out of, and then run.

Brilliant.

Most jayhawks are better than that. They were when I debated against them in 84/85 tourny held there.

Actually, I'm more that happy to discuss and even debate a little.

I just don't respond to insults.

I didn't insult you. What do you think "insult" means?

Is exposing a ridiculous comment of yours insulting? Then you insult yourself, you made the comment, I only witnessed and commented on it.

You are 90% posture, 10% theology so far, bub. Don't waste my time. Put up or shut up, as the old clint eastwood movies might say.

[h=3]2 Timothy 3:16-17[/h]King James Version (KJV)

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

If you'd like to do more than just "expose", and instead would like to discuss, I'm all for it. I don't get into yelling matches. If someone wants to have a respectful dialogue about their beliefs, and mine, I'm happy to do so. But so far, this isn't it.

I know, Josh. And I agree 100%. And I've never said otherwise. Show me the post where I've said Paul's words aren't useful or God given.

I didn't slight you. I didn't disparage you. I didn't abuse you. I didn't discredit you except to show your answer for what it was, had I misrepresented it deliberately you could argue discredit, libel, slander, malign, defame and denigrate. HOWEVER SINCE I PUT IT DOWN< FOR WHAT IT WAS< ANS SHOWED THE BASIS FOR MY BELIEF THAT WHAT I SAID WAS TRUE, you are just a whiny person who is not liking being wrong.

I thought I said, don't waste my time?

Matt, you've shown NO INTERESTin discussing WITH, but rather to talk to people. You deliberately, to this point, have evaded the point. Why; would I engage in a "conversation" (with big miley cyrus styrofoam finger size finger quotes here) with someone who will not own up to their words, but rather evade losing face.

KMA killing my ants... I'll go enjoy my picnic. If you step up, I'll be here.

Yeah, claiming that JESUS verse as you interpret changes Paul's verse isn't that.

Mathematically,

2>1

Does that mean 1 is insignificant? That 1 doesn't matter?

already shown. You change the comment though in your question.

You move on to build a strawman. That's a nice big fat fallacious way of avoiding culpability.

No one said you said, you SHOWED was the argument I made. Now via what you show, you have declared, which can be expressed with SAID. but where you offended it has been shown. YOu tried to prissy foot around that one and go off to pout as if you were offended and won the day.

Matt, stop talking to me here. You hold nothing of value as long as you will evade and posture.

I don't care what you believe. That's between you and GOd. I just thank God I'm not you.

Show me the post, or posts where I said or showed Paul is wrong. Then please also show all of the posts where I've said that Paul is correct, and NOT wrong.
