Tannar,
It appears you came into this thread a little later than most, which is obviously fine. If you take the time to look over my past posts in this thread, you will see a number of times where I said to properly understand Paul, we need to understand Jesus first. [/quote[ You presume I haven't. Since I disagree with all you have said, you feel since yoU KNOW YOU ARE INERRANTLY RIGHT, that I must be wrong, and it's nice to not call me an idiot, and to give me a way out with I haven't read your words.... MIGHTY PEN THAT YOU BEAR. Pure Hubris. NOT what you would expect from one of the "House of David".
Never have I discredited Paul in this thread or said he was wrong, and I challenge you to find a post where I did. You will not find one.
You are correct you never say PAUL IS AN IDIOT. You do, however discredit Paul.
My statement about Jesus>Paul is in reference to what author and what scripture carries more weight.
AND here it is. POOF, discredit Paul. Scripture is either inspired or it is not, which is it. If inspired, then all bears equal weight, none less. That means you ignore the scripture you don't like, and tone it down, to make it fit in your box, by saying it's less inspired/less important, so therefore ONE scripture that is MORE important overrides what it says elsewhere.
Paul can be read, and THEN JEsus and have a better understanding of Jesus. JESUS can be read and then Paul, and have a better understanding of Jesus. The understanding is the same way. It can only mean one thing, and what it means can't allow for differences, or fuzzy places in all of the Book. If there are places you don't find without contradiction, then you don't have them right yet.
About which Scripture is the original, and which one is the commentary on that original. Paul isn't wrong. He is commentating on Jesus' words. Paul was anointed by God to preach to the Gentiles. He was full of the Holy Spirit, and he spoke words of life and truth. But every single word of Paul's HAS to line up with Jesus' teaching.
Pardon me, but WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO IMPLY THEY DO NOT? EVEN TO IMPLY THEY MAY NOT? You are one to deny the divinity of scripture. There is not a way possible that they would not. You are posturing to discredit something Paul wrote to suit your own theology.
And in order to truly understand what Paul was saying, we need to understand Jesus' words first.
No, you must not, but thanks for imposing your desires on the rest of the world. Most of us think it's so cute when people try to hard....
Thanks in advance for looking back at my previous posts, and recognizing that you're mistaken.
Have a great night everyone!
Matt
Thanks for proving your Hubris.
