My mother-in-law keeps on buying more bags of flour. I keep telling her, I HAVE FLOUR! Stop, before we run out of room for it!

She said she's paranoid about weevils, and I told her to chill out, I've had a bag of flour in the cupboard for a few months, and it didn't get weevils in it.

So, I decided to bake these tasty cherry bars the other day, after this conversation, and I got the bag of flour out of my cupboard...the opened one. And I scooped a cup of it out. And right as I was about to put it in the bowl with the other ingredients, WEEVIL.

*sigh*

I hate it when I'm proven stupid.
What's a weevil???

I need an egg shaker and a program that can layer audio that someone records from videos.

I'm so ashamed of myself right now...

We're listening to a 90's station, and "Baby Got Back" is on...

I know all the words, from back in the day when I probably didn't even really understand this...song.

Do yourself a favor, and go find the Jonathan Coulton version. BEST. COVER. EVAR. I'm sure it's on Youtube. It's been around for eight or nine years, but only recently gained notoriety when Glee ripped it off note for note and didn't give JoCo any credit or compensation whatsoever. (To his credit, JoCo didn't even want money, just credit. Not just anyone thinks to mix hip-hop/rap with banjo, ya know.)

His cover of Destiny's Child's Bills is pretty awesome, too. But one of these days, I swear I'm going to buy the karaoke track of Baby Got Back (you can buy karaoke tracks of all of his stuff) and take it to my favorite karaoke bar one night. Blow everyone's mind. Does a song built around lust still glorify lust if you sing it ironically? ^_^

I keep getting e-mails from something called simple tuition, and they keep sending me e-mails, telling me how easy it'll be to get a loan and get your education done.

I know this sounds crazy. But I'm determined to let God provide through scholarships and other things. I have faith that God will.

And if it doesn't happen, I'm simply not going to college. I've been raised to not get myself waist-deep in debt. And the Bible even talks about how the borrower is enslaved to the lender.

Proverbs 22:6-7

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]The rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.

I don't want to be a slave to anything except God's grace and righteousness. I know, once again, I sound like a nutcase and an overachiever. But the thing is, people should never have gotten to the point where it's virtually impossible to not owe someone something.

If God could provide for people like George Muller, He can provide for me. I believe it. If God wants me in college, He will help me make it happen.

Sometimes I wish I could feel like nothing's wrong. But I know there is. And I can't ignore it. And it will bug me till I pray and get ahold of that person. I've prayed already...now to just get ahold of this person.

Fun combination of exhaustion, allergies, and danceable music...

Actually, this is proving to be dangerous, and I should just go to bed before I injure anything else.

I went to a wedding tonight. It was very Christ centered which was awesome. The reception was a blast. When they had (tasteful) dancing, at first I didn't go out because I'm insecure. But then a friend dragged me out but I'm glad she did because I had a blast!! Also, I wanted to get away from a friend who was trying to talk me up to the guy sitting next to me, whom I know. "You should hang out with Rachel." I wanted to take a ride on the Nope Train and dancing seemed like a good way to board it.

Weddings always make me so smiley. The dancing hyped me up. I'm feeling that twinge of loneliness that I usually feel at weddings, but I'm doing my best to let God work through it with me.

My mom just turned 51, and she's having an "I'm an old lady!" crisis. She wants me to cut her hair for her, give her a style that is "appropriate" for an "aging" woman. She's terribly concerned that her just-past-shoulder-length hair is far too long for a woman her age, and that people will think she is trying, and failing, to look younger.

And so, she asked for my help.

I told her...no. I said that her hair looks nice the way it is, that 51 isn't old and SHE doesn't look 51 anyway (she really doesn't), and that I thought she was just having a rough day and therefore I wouldn't do something to her hair that she would hate in a week.

She went to the salon down the street from her house yesterday afternoon, and had them chop her hair short.

And she called me and wants me to "fix it"...

She said the problem is that she thinks she wants it to be longer.

*facepalm*

That's completely rich. The nope train. the NOOOOOOOOPE Train. HOO HOOOOOooooo. this honestly sounds like a detective novel ..........it was quiet in this naked jungle called Chicago. Quiet always spells trouble in my line of work. I wanted to take the nope train and dancing seemed like a good way to board it.

At 4:44 PM East coast time today it will be officially the start of FALL. *sigh* I can begin to feel human (somewhat again)
Nothing better than waking up on a cool Fall morning & the sun reflecting off the dew/sometimes frost covered grass..the beautiful multi-coloured leaves everywhere, and that awesome smell of foliage decay,as I sip on nice hot cup of hazelnut coffee.
