God is always watching so why do we do some of the things that we do? He did the right thing. She did not.
Living in fear is a horrible existence. Rather, a person who truly believes God is watching them would gladly return the money, thus living out the Greatest Commandment of loving God and neighbor. Same life, totally different life experience.
On another note: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
If a person has to believe a God who might condemn them to eternal torture is watching them with judgement in order for them to want to give back something that isn't theirs to a severely disabled man, then something is really wrong with the world.
