Personally, I would have to say yes, the Pope is the successor of Peter, as far as being an Apostle. However, I believe the leaders of all of the Christian Churches stand as the successors of the Apostles.

Look dude. according to the Catholic so called church the pope is Jesus replacement on Earth and that is a tee total lie.
No, the Pope is the Steward of the Church. Steward was a position of a servant who would control the day to day running of a land while the King is away.
This idea is based off a confession that Peter made, then Jesus said something based on his confession that He is the Christ the son of the living God - this is the confession that the church is built on - not him, also a few verses later he was called Satan by Jesus as satan was using him to get Jesus not to go to the Cross
Also acts tells us that James was the main leader in the church until he was beheaded
James was the head elder in Jerusalem, not the leader of the church....The key is the message.

The Pope may be an apostle, but certainly not one sent from the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who promotes worship and prayer to a cult goddess cannot be a man of God.
