I'm all for female screamers. Still Breathing, Your Chance To Die... even Arch Enemy. Boo yah booiiiii! But the whole rock/metal female fronted psuedo goth thing just bores me. Lacuna Coil and Evenesance stuff... zzzzzzz......

I have that Society's Finest album, or did. And the one after it where they re-formed and got more questionable. Lost interest completely after that.

The band Deborah is.. like half or mostly females. Including the vocalist. Good stuff.

iTore... young enough to be your daughter? Long as she's legal, that's all that matters hahaha.

Servant... there were better choices than metalcore. That's the key. And in honor of Servants leprosy i present to you True metal heads (see me and iTore)...

I used to really like Arch Enemy but the Khaos Legion was complete crap and I lost interest after that, Anthems of Rebellion was a great album though.

By the way. If you remember 'The Lead' from back in the day, Franks Enemy was one of the guys from The Lead. Really cool guy. In FL we would run into him from time to time at shows and he was always way friendly and down to earth. We bumped into him at a secular venue to see Strongarm and hung out with him to SA came on. Then he ran (yes, literally ran) to the pit, hahaha.
Franks Enemy was a little bit experimental/grindcore. But was unique for sure haha.

i searched the thread after your other post & saw you posted one on march 30, i posted one aug. 1 when i first joined forum, but i didn't see Missachu post Elgibbor at all. maybe i just fail at searching.

anyhow, i agree with you anyone who is into Elgibbor is cool in my book. He's signed 4-5 days ago with Shigionoth records to release the album he's been working on btw -- hopefully that means the album will release soon =]

Don't ask me where this came from, but it all of the sudden got in my head for some reason...

This was always my favorite SF song, though their beliefs seemed to get quit questionable the longer they went on.

I picked that one up used in a solid state records sampler years ago.


I was screaming "YOU WILL HAVE TO BURN ME TO THE GROUND."


But I dislike it when bands go down the more and more ambiguous route, or when they go the "I just did it to get signed to a label" route. Klay Scott was awesome with Circle of Dust. It sucked so badly when he came out and said he didn't mean it. Same with Bret (blue Stahli) and Voxis. Weirdly both of them ended up producing tracks that are some of the best anti-lust songs I've ever heard (and even more oddly they did a joint remix of one of them). But neither of them makes music I would call Christian any more. I guess Voxis was always iffy, although it had originally been labeled Christian industrial.

Well, i think with Klay it was just a matter of he followed what he was told to believe. As opposed to never believing it at all. I think he just hadn't made it personal. I believe he and Klank grew up together, or in similar areas. Apparently there were a lot of bad things going on in the church or churches there that just got swept under the rug when brought out.

Want to talk about not meaning it. Little known fact, 'Marylin Manson' got his start in a Christian band. I've seen the footage of him playing a show.

That's how I always understood Klay, same thing with Pete Stewart from Grammatrain. Is Klank still christian? I saw him and his band just came out with their third album a year or two ago. I heard a little bit from Numb and thought that was pretty cool, he kind of explored more of the questioning side of the believer, though nothing really felt like it was off in his beliefs, or the message. I haven't heard anything from the third album though.

He's always been pretty vague. He has never really been outspoken about where his faith stands. Back in the AOL days i met him on AOL and there was very little about him that spoke to his faith. Though the rare occasions he did, he seemed quite knowledgeable about the bible. Its just a guess, but i'm thinking he has (or had) problems separating what took place in the church from his understanding of God and Christians, and that has left a bit of a .. disconnect in his faith he can't get past. That's just my completely theorized psychological analyzation of him.

Yeah, I knew another guy who got to meet him and described him as a very interesting guy, and just left it at that with no other information haha. I think I get what your saying though, it's like he does believe in God, or at least has a strong desire for faith just has difficulty because of whatever. I don't know what exactly happened with their church, but I also know it was a church that eventually made Roger Martinez walk away from God too, and so ended when of christian thrash metals greatest bands.

Yeah it's amazing how much damage the Christian church can cause.

It can do a lot of good, but when the wrong people aren't weeded out, it can cause an awful lot of damage. Not on a soap box but I think that's why Paul tells us to expel the immoral brother. We don't know who that immoral brother will hurt or not hurt.

Well not for nothing...I don't condone this but I understand where many of these metal/industrial artists are coming from as far as now how they've sort of walked away from the church & not being so outspoken about their faith,etc...

Many of these dudes are around my age,and I went through some similar things in the church I went to. It's a impressionable age...18 yrs old...playing drums..having long hair into metal/industrial,and having many in the body of Christ at the time telling you that what your into can't possibly be of God. That He can't use you unless you play worship music. Many people you respect in the church end up falling away,or manipulation goes on. For me there was always the thing about accountability,and submitting all our metal band did to people who were elders in the church at the time.

Even being totally transparent,it because a free for all of judgmental & religious attitudes. Both the singer & guitarist ended up falling away from God eventually,and even I left the church after 8 yrs because of some strange legalism that was happening. This is what happens when we put our eyes too much on our brothers & sisters & take them off God. Some realize this & get over it...some never do. yeah ok...so I totally rambled here...sorry

He returned from producing Mortifications first full release and when he got back his entire band had broken apart. They ended it without even talking with him. Then, to add fuel to the fire, they all got together for Die Happy... minus Roger.

Of course I think I saw that on wikipedia and we all know how reliable that is.

You guys definitely had it rough in the early years. I didn't start into the whole metal thing until, I think it was '98, and even then I dealt with some crap, but not as much as you guys I'm sure. I still deal with crap about it from my dad every once in a while if he's feeling in an ultra spiritual ornery mood. The guys from Zao dealt with the same stuff, specifically after Dan and Russ first joined the band. They had shown members from their church what they were doing and were basically called demon possessed. It was definitely harsh and still is in some cases.

Hmm... had never heard that. He was always a Sanctuary guy. But then again, i didn't know how, so maybe did go to some weird church.

Yeah, i was 14 when i got into Christian metal and got saved. It wasn't rough on me at first. It was people at my church that introduced me to it haha. I had more trouble at school with the metal heads saying i couldn't be metal and Christian.

But as i got a bit older is when i started taking crap from people. Like when me and my buddies had a 'thrash' band and my youth pastor had a big youth conference and invited all the local youth groups. They had a talent show and we played it. One youth pastor made his whole youth group get up and walk out once we started playing. They never came back. =P
