This is a terrible thing to say but, my Husband has been stressing me out a lot. He isn't abusive or horrible but he has to make a big deal out of little things. For example yesterday he was mad because I forgot to bring back the library books. It was 8 c lock, I was trying to get my kids to sleep and he was worried about a 15 cent fine.

At night he watches all of his "precious" shows. I want him to try to get my son to sleep, I have a terrible time getting my daughter to sleep. I've talked to him about this, nothing changes. I want him to stop watching whatever stupid TV show he's watching and focus on our son. It drives me insane. Last night I was putting my daughter to bed and I saw that a new show is on that I might enjoy. I wanted to DVR it. I DVR one show. Between he and my kids it's like 10. His response, well I don't know if it will DVR because some of my stuff is recording. So I said, "I DVR one TV show, do you think you could spare one?" I was irritated and angry and have been with him a lot lately. I'm sick of it.

Sorry to be negative, I guess typing this out helps.

I'm gonna say this in as much humility & love as I possibly can,so plz do not think I am being judgmental or rude in any fashion because that is so not my heart right now.

I totally understand yer' frustration & venting, but I don't think it's good to be doing this about your husband openly in front of mainly strangers, and even more so in the "singles" forum.

Maybe better to do this in the family forums?? I dunno. I actually don't think something like this,as mundane as it is should be voiced openly about a spouse. Maybe more something to keep in PM's to maybe another married female friend.

I just know how I might feel if I were still married & I saw that my wife was complaining about me in a forum of people I didn't know. I wouldn't want them knowing our business.

I apologize ahead of time if it sounds like I'm overstepping my bounds here or maybe sounding too cliche' or religious...
I do understand those types of frustrations in marriage,as having been there for 9 yrs at one point.
I will be praying for you & your family...for peace & more understanding with one another. I noticed a lot of "I" & "My" in there...just remember they're his kids too....and yer all God's children. Think of how much patience He has with us.:)

We watched Oz the Great and Powerful a few nights ago, and ever since, every time I sneeze (whether anyone is around to hear it or not), I say "I sneezed the plans away!"

It's allergy season, I'm sneezing several times an hour.

I kind of wish I could do it on purpose.

"What's going on?"
"I don't know! I sneezed the plans away!"

...I need help...

So about a week or two ago, I registered for Lumosity...right now most of the games are fairly simple except the ones that require a bunch of memorization, like one called "Memory Matrix." ugh...that's the one I'm the worst at. Which probably means I need to work in that area the most. This is the first week I'm consistently doing it every day, though. So once I get into that habit, maybe I'll be able to see more of a difference.

Oncefallen and lil christian,

He has been tested for food allergies, he has none.

If it were as easy as giving him a spoonful of honey...or eliminating certain foods i would have been all over that 4 years ago when this first started.

While i appreciate your suggestions, i've tried every thing under the sun including what you two have said.. Natural Honey didn't do jack, maybe it does with kids who have slight asthma or allergies.
Eliminating foods.... tried that for years, doesn't do anything either.

I am so thankful for steroids, medications, and antibiotics i believe that and God have been whats kept him alive this long.

My son wanted chocolate chips for breakfast. So, I gave him a banana and smushed the chocolate chips into it (there were like, 5) so he'd get one with each bite.

Well! He said "Please" and "thank you"...

He asked for peaches. So, I gave him diced peaches. He was eating them just fine....and then I went to change the baby's diaper, and when I came back, there were diced peaches flung to every corner of the house. He didn't want to pick them up, so instead he sat on his bed and screamed bloody murder while I picked them up.

The baby started crying while this was going on, because she has socks on and can't find her toes.

My son shut his bedroom door and then proceeded to scream because he couldn't lock it (I had my husband turn the knob around so it locks on the outside, not the inside. It's funny when my kid locks himself OUT of his room, but not when he locks himself IN).

The UPS guy showed up during all this, and wanted to have a conversation about the package he was delivering for my mother-in-law (who is not here today, because she went camping).

The phone started ringing, and I was ignoring it for obvious reasons, and it turned out to be an insurance company who wanted to talk to my mother-in-law. They left a message. They called again. They left another message. They called two more times, and hung up on the answering machine.

A stray cat picked a fight with two of my kitties who were outside, and there was a lot of hissing and growling and my little girl started screaming again at her feet while my son pushed all of his books off of his shelf and started yelling that he couldn't read them.

Days like today, I'd like to resign from this post.

And yet it's still not as rough as other moms have it, whose kids have severe allergies...or who are doing this all alone. I salute y'all.

I try my best to drink plenty of water, especially since water is one of the few things I actually drink. I don't drink much beyond water and coffee and the occasional tea.

fen, milady, your husband has some underlying reason for watching his 'precious' shows, not sure what it is but time to do what it takes to find out, through faith in Him. Time to ask your husband why he is not sharing now, why he is not wanting to spend time with your son. I also thought you had a daughter, too? INSIST that you all play a board game together is my advice, or , cards, or, even, watch a movie together, a good, wholesome flick, like 'Courageous,' or, '7 Years in Utopia,' or 'Letter From God,' I think, is another. Veggie tales, too, PUT Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber into your family's watchings, like 'Jonah.'

Lastly, admit you are wrong for something when you talk to him after you are sat at the dinner table, the dinner table is a GREAT place to talk and you should TRY to have a family dinner EVERY night :) ,this is hard to do, not coordinating a family dinner so much but it is hard for we humans becoming vulnerable asking, "What did I do that bothered you?' . Typically, something we do, one thing even, sets off a closed-up feeling in a spouse or GF/BF or whatever. Sometimes, too, we are stubborn and know inside what is bugging someone else, like our husband, is something we know we did but we have too much pride to admit we messed up. Remember, what fell Satan? Pride :( OUR family IS more important than our pride, right:)

It should not lose you any control to admit something you said/did hurt him, it may very well help your husband to realize you do care. Guys have feelings too--contrary to popular belief :D -- but we MUST be confronted of them or we often will just hold them in forever and a day. And, I mean, forever and a day. Don't let us do that. It is a blessing for a guy to be married to a good wife (read Proverbs 31 ) ; fen, I KNOW, you are a 'good wife.' :)

-------------------
I agree with itoreHis, too, I think, putting stuff here is, perhaps, not the best idea. I would take what's been said from he and I, others, to the Lord in prayer, hennyfenny, and, go in FAITH to your husband, at dinner, and, ask why a 15 cent library fine is bothering him so much and things like watching t.v. and not focusing on your son is what is being chosen.
"I don't you watching your shows but spend time with your kids too, honey, and, me. "
=========================
That is one approach. Another approach is totally proactive positive and that would be just asking the kids what game they want to play after dinner and then you all , as a whole family, ARE playing a game after dinner. Maybe, too, although not ideal, I think, it can work as long as dad can focus attention on the game, but, play the game with the kids so that your husband is facing toward the t.v. :) The Lord leads, you stay with Him, read that bible of yours often, and, make sure you are praying around the dinner table and DO DEVOTIONS with your kids at nighttime. One reads a short story with a lesson for one and the other reads to the other child.

Be of good cheer, in this life, we WILL experience trials and tribulations, but He will hold up 'the sky' from falling and that sky falls from Satan who's bitterness to God is unyielding and wants to bring the same fate He experienced and will REALLY experience once God's thrown Satan into the Lake of Fire (this is my doctrine belief, please don't see this offensive if you believe a little diffferent . :) )

God bless and be with you fen, praying.
So many here, i KNOW, will now be praying for you and do bring this to the prayer requests forum is my best advice as that is something that , like itoreHis said, would not be a place as potentially 'gossipy' as here that could hurt your husband's feelings if found out. And, i do not say this is gossip now, I see genuine concern and reaching out to your 'singles' family here, and, you can tell your husband this truth too if things just keep spiraling worse, which I pray they do not :) I am thankful that I can prayerfully say some things here that are directly from Him to help you. I say nothing good on my own, but with my Lord leading 'it' is all good :)

Dear Lord, help fen to see your Love in this situation of hers and her family. May her husband have an open heart to listening to fen speak her heart of how she feels or, however Lord you speak to fen to handle this situation. Thy will be done, Lord Jesus, just like one the cross, may we want your way, ultimately, in our life, through faith in you, faith that you gave us all for our lives to go about bringing glory to you in all we do. Amen :)

My husband told me last night that our area will be under a winter storm warning, starting this afternoon (I believe it, there's snow clouds out there right now).

I was all, "What?! Seriously? It's the middle of September. Stupid Colorado."

And he looked at me like I was "special" and said, "It's October. Honestly, do you pay any attention to life?"

And when I was done staring blankly at the floor, I looked up and said, "Huh?"

...sometimes it's just fun to prove his point, it makes him feel validated :D

Yep, snow :p

We hardly ever get rain in these parts, so we gotta get our moisture for the year somehow. Snow's as good a way as any other, I guess...if you like skiing and sledding and army-crawling through it in order to launch an attack on a dozen miniature snowmen....
