kenthomas27- What's your typical Friday night like?

lil_christian- You're gonna be 18 soon-ish...what are you most looking forward to?

Grace-Like-Rain- If you had been unable to start your business, or unsuccessful at it, what do you think you'd be doing now?

GreenNnice- Have you actually ever toilet papered anyone's house (or otherwise mildly vandalized)?

iTOREtheSKY- If you had to be famous (I say "had to" so's you can't be like "I don't want to be famous!"), what would you want it to be for?

seoulsearch- I know you missed out on some things when you were a kid, but what are some things from your childhood that you are grateful for now?

Rachel- What does your ideal wedding gown look like (do you have, or could you find, a picture of it)?

Nautilus- I've seen a few people accuse you of just liking to disagree in order to pick fights. In all honesty, DO you enjoy getting uptight people a little riled up? Can't say I'd blame you if you do sometimes.

zaoman32- BEST. DAY. EVER. What would that be for you?

NodMyHeadLikeYeah AND Catlynn- What's the most difficult part about being a mom?

zeroturbulence- What's your favorite meal?

Liamson- If you could choose a different path for your life, knowing what you know now, would you? And what would it be?

Aimee- What type of job would be sheer torture to you, and why?

arwen83- What's your idea of a perfect, romantic evening? Would it be a first date, or with someone you've already fallen in love with?

Chainhand- So um, what DO you do, anyway?

Ugly- If you had to go back in time and change one thing about your life (a mistake, not something you couldn't control), what would it be?

Well I only have the one daughter, she's 3. But my sister and her two kids live with me too and they're 4 and 6. :D
Having more than one of them around actually helps keep them entertained. Or so I've seen and heard.

I'm running far far away now though so I might not get held to that statement later in life. Facts will have to be changed to protect the guilty.

I see you keep posting over and over and not giving time for people to respond. It can take hours to get a response, so there is no need to keep reposting things. I saw you doing the same in the New Users section.
You may want to post this question in your own, new thread in the Bible Forum, rather than jumping into an existing thread and changing the topic.

I just can't keep up with who asked whom what and if I need to answer...or ask....or just leave this thread alone. o_o But if I AM asked a question, I don't want to be rude and ignore it. Oh my. O_O

To everyone:
What is your favorite ethnic food? (meaning: food from somewhere other than your country)
Italian. *drool

JimmyDiggs gives free guitar lessons... right Jimmy? :D

That might be helpful... if he was Eric Clayton... and giving free singing lessons. But he's not Eric Clayton giving free singing lessons, so it's somewhat irrelevant. =P

Wow! hmmm...I guess it would be cool to be famous for having like tons of money & having a dog rescue...like what the Villalobos Rescue Center- Pit Bulls & Parolees does in New Orleans.

Chainhand:
But as far as pursuits in life, if you'd asked me that every six months for the last 22 years I would have given you a different answer. But now... just trying to follow Jesus :) and do as he leads. It may not lead to a life that would impress the average human, but I shouldn't be striving for the kind of life that would impress people when there's an infinitely greater pearl at stake.
OH ! A brilliant mindset, chainedHis! The Lord leads!

Oh, thinking of your mother's look of longing for you is so precious... I'm glad you have that. AND that you can feel that love and acceptance from a Heavenly Father. Your ex-husband deserves a kick in the pants! And wow, so glad God brought you out of Korea. If the Koreans have a problem with mixed blood, they'd definitely flip out over most Americans. I can't even count how much different blood I have... Norwegian, Irish, Cajun/French, German, Native American... nothing even prominent enough to "claim" as my own.

Do you find that people are interested in your Korean appearance? I've always found so much beauty in oriental features. You are beautiful, and I love AlphaOmega's profile picture too.
Hi Grace,

Thank you again for your kind words and you make an excellent point about racial mixes. My adoptive last name, I've discovered, is actually Dutch, so I guess I am a Dutch Korean American. ;) Does that mean I'll need wooden shoes to match the wooden chopsticks?

Actually... I can't eat with chopsticks. I'm too clumsy and uncoordinated. So, I try to brush it off by saying, "Who needs to eat with two over-sized toothpicks anyway!! That's what a good old American shovel and dustpan (aka, a spoon and fork) are for!!"

I have always had conflict with my Asian appearance because it's what's caused me the most trouble. As I often complain about, older men talk to me because they want the Asian stereotype. Last week I blocked yet another older man (age 85) because he was constantly looking at my dating profile. This has been very typical for me. Most men who view my profile are ages 55-89, and they say they want an Asian woman with "traditional values" and that, "It's part of your culture to respect older men." Respect, yes. Marry... NO WAY.

Part of what I've written in my profile is, "I have many hopes and dreams in life, but becoming the next Anna Nicole Smith is not one of them."

I'm also very dismayed when some guys say, "Oh, I just love Asian women." I know they mean it as a compliment. But it makes me feel like a breed of dog... You know, something like, "Oh, I just love German shepherds!!"

When I was a kid, the other kids would always "slant" their eyes at me and I still encounter that as an adult (from little kids who aren't used to seeing Asians).

We always want what we don't have.
I have always wanted to be something other than Asian because it's always caused me the most grief. Now, I don't mean to turn this into a "Woe is me" story at all but for some reason... I never "measure up" to what an Asian is supposedly supposed to be. I admire other Asians, but hate the comparison: "Wow, I know a Korean girl and she's a lot thinner than you." "Hmm, your hair isn't really thick like other Asian women, huh?" "You're pretty light-skinned for an Asian." To be honest, I often feel like more of a curiosity object than anything else. You know, like one of those nickel-and-dime exhibits at Ringley Bros. Circus...

When I was 14, I dreamed of dyeing my hair blonde and getting blue contacts. But I've seen other Asians do this and I finally decided... I'd better try to be halfway content with the way God made me.

Thank you for the questions and opportunity to share... It's been a blessing and even an answer to prayer (to be able to share myself with someone.) God bless you, Grace!

aidK -- you and I've talked about parents being important, to be honored? How are you honoring your parents now?

By not living in their house and not eating their food? Seriously though, when I go through something rough I close up shop. They try and offer advice and I always try my hardest to listen and not just push aside what they are saying. My mom knows me the best, she always finds a way in. :)

No, you're absolutely correct. More than one is super helpful! Good thing I usually have between 4-6 around! :D

I guess that comes with the territory when people are unique. I've always wanted to be unique so that appeals to me. LOL. A friend of mine is with Wycliff Bible Translators, on a team in Papua New Guinea and they've entered many villages in the jungle that have never seen a white person before. I just can't help thinking how cool that must be! I'm sure that's probably naive of me, considering that there are real difficulties when one is different. But what an adventure. :)

(BTW, I get a lot of older-man interest too. I think sometimes older men just want younger women. Ha...)

Growing up our next door neighbors had 6 of them. It was never a dull moment. There's having 4-6 around and sending a few of them home at the end of the day, and then there's having 6 of them all day every day. The economies of scale start to diminish.

In some ways, I think twins may be like the mass production lines of the human reproductive cycle. You have twins, it might not be so bad. Just feed them and change them at the same time. Do the same thing at the same time and you're only really doing it once, just with two children.

Until one of them wants to sleep and the other doesn't...

Hahaha that's the WORST! When one wants to sleep and the other doesn't....so you miss out on sleep, or chores, or a workout, or a good book. -_-

Sweet! My friend met her husband with Wycliff too, and they are raising their bebe over there. It looks like a beautiful place! (With something like 3000 native dialects - yikes!)

Okay Catlynn! You are stranded on a tropical island. (NOT in Hawaii.) You are allowed to keep one type of cosmetics, one over-the-counter medication, one article of clothing, and one survival tool. What's it gonna be?

ooh! yay! Okay!

Cosmetics: Does a toothbrush count? If not, maybe sunscreen.
Medication: I have no idea....I don't really ever take medicine. Uuummm....activated charcoal. It's really good for a lot of things, but helps your stomach a lot if you get food poisoning and quickly absorbs poisons and such from the body. I think it'd be helpful.
Clothing: A jump....suit? lol Or maybe one of those romper things. Ooh! A sarong! That way I can turn it into several different things.
Survival tool: A gurkha. No question. I can use it to make EVERYTHING else that I need with the trees and such. Works kinda like an ax and a machete.

"Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord." Colossians 3:21

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." Ephesians 6:1

Amen, bro . My mom, too, is who I think back to having always been there for me, dad, too, but dad was dad and rougher on me, not even realizing his ways weren't working to teach me things. Moms knows best. This saying is quite profound really. But, it's true. Ultimately, the Lord leads, and, I thank God for a great mom growing up and all through my life :)

Ok, obviously I own this post right now :D

But, OK, catty, I got a question for you.

Why don't you make up your own thread on this great idea you said earlier: You know you are addicted to c.c. when.....

It would be a fun thread :) The Lord leads :) It's your thread but, you just say the word, and, I will make it my own :D

Great idea with the charcoal! I bet you could even filter water with that. And the sarong... that's like an instant 20 outfit wardrobe. (And a tent, towel, picnic blanket and bedsheet.) I love those things.

I have no idea what a gurkha is, but I'm getting one.
