My go-to piece is one that's simple but is so pretty and it makes me happy. I'd play it all the time if I could, and I get absolutely lost in it. Debussy's Arabesque No. 1. I am a huge fan of Debussy's works.

My parents started me in piano lessons when I was 5 years old, under the instruction of a strict Russian pianist. My parents just wanted me to be well-rounded, and my dad is a musician so he wanted music to be part of my education. Unfortunately my Russian teacher didn't get the memo about just being "well-rounded", and instead had her heart set on making me the next great concert pianist, apparently. She made me practice 4 hours a day, at 5 years old.
She taught me great technique and discipline, but I'm glad my parents switched me to another instructor later. Between my second piano teacher and my dad, I grew up just loving music, and now I might not be the best classical pianist ever but I also play other instruments, and in several different styles, so I'm happy with being 'well-rounded'.

I love that one too! It's good to play no matter what kind of mood you are in....after a bad day, or when everything is going right...

I love the animation going along with the contour of all the voices! I'm seeing some educational benefits to this.

Also, do I not technically HAVE to have this meal, since I'm about to die anyway? *whines like a teenager, "oh, imma totally DIE if I can't eat this!!!"* Umm, I want to have ...lobster, I think, or perhaps crab. Or, wait, I should down a bunch of unhealthy food since Ima die soon anyway! Although, the REALLY unhealthy stuff tends to make me feel sick, so I should wait until I'm down to just a few minutes to live before downing it .How about lobster with TONS of butter !

To anyone: Have you ever been in a monsoon? What was it like? Nope, never have been in one. Been in a few hurricanes, but they aren't bad where I live, so mostly just lots of rain.
When was the last time you fell on your knees and prayed to Jesus? What for? What happened? U don't have to be specific .Hmm, as far as an on-my-knees prayer specifically, it was a few days ago when I was asking that my family would be able to buy something that we need sooner rather than later. It's not a super-urgent need, but we do need more room for our home business .

Nah, that's 96, not 120, Green. Do the math (16 crayons per little box, 6 little boxes), and besides, it says so on the big box. Also, do you mind putting them away correctly? It's really agitating me to see that a few boxes have 14 or 15 crayons, while you jammed 17 into some of the others. Also, at least three of the crayons are upside down.

Nope, cant say I have. My question to you is have you? I think I did plant an apple tree when I was little, or rather HELPED plant one. It's been so long I can't remember what I did to help. Possibly just keep an eye on the baby . We still have one of them, but the others turned out to be the kind that you have to spray with pesticides, which we didn't want to do, so we axed 'em. To everyone else, that was the question I'd asked that AlphaOmega; the one to which he was responding.

To everyone: What is your least favorite chore that must be done? and what is the most rewarding chore, that you don't mind doing? Favorite chore...I like laundry and washing the dishes. I also like being outside, but I can't really say that I like getting dirty, so I'm grateful that I only had to mow the lawn for one Summer .

Everyone: If you could add a magical room to your house, what would be inside/ what could it do? Good question, Astrid. How about this: You put something in the special room and it immediately becomes clean. Or even, it gets clean after you leave and press a button; that's good enough for me . Also, Green and I each asked you awhile back in this thread, but how are you enjoying Scotland? You mentioned that you've never been called a "lass". If not "lass", what do they call the young females over there?

First of all, I wasn't able to post this before anyone clicked the "like" button, thanks to Chainhand. I suppose I should reward him anyway, since I did make it a bit of a game, sooo....

Chainhand: if you had to be either a cheetah or a rhinoceros for an entire day, which would you chose, and why?

Sooo... question for everyone.
Here's the two I didn't answer earlier.
2) What are you most proud of in life (besides God of course)?

It's funny, but I can only think of one time in which I REALLY felt proud of myself. I had eaten too much dinner and was considering throwing up on purpose to get rid of the full feeling. I was weighing it mentally, but I decided that I'd just wait, and I knew that after a few hours I'd feel fine. All of a sudden, I felt ... almost magical . I KNEW I'd made the right decision; it was like my heart started dancing . It's kind of funny, because even though I wasn't considering it for anorexic or even simple weight-loss reasons, looking back on my life now (that incident was ten or so years ago), I see that it probably would have been harder to avoid vomiting the next time, after I'd done it once. Probably some people could vomit only when full and not have a problem, but I suspect I would've become obsessed with it in a very unhealthy way. Anyway, that's my story of when I most felt proud of myself, and I never again felt tempted to throw up .

4) What is something about yourself (or story) that you would like to share with the rest of the world?
Probably that I'm just a regular person, and that anyone can get to know Jesus like this. He'll meet you where you're at; just ask Him to draw you closer to Himself and to show you things and don't be afraid of Him. Don't get me wrong, I've made plenty of mistakes, but He's faithful. I give this answer because sometimes people say how wonderful I am, and I'm like ... um... it's really all Him; I'm the girl who almost gave herself an eating disorder and obsessed over GreenNnice's crayons to the point of insanity. Don't look at me; look at Jesus and what He did and will do if you let Him .

Jilly81 - What is one thing you have always wanted to try, but have never done? PM one of the single male mods and ask him to marry me (any one of them; doesn't matter which).

To all - When is the last time you laughed so hard, your sides hurt?
Probably either reading something on this site or when one of my brothers did something hilarious to make everyone laugh .

Q. To: Ugly Kenthomas, Misscriss, Catlynn, Jilly81 and others : What's the wackiest belief you held as a child?
Probably when I was about 4 or 5 and I was scared to let my stuffed animals lie face-down on a blanket for fear that they'd smother XD.

What is something you have always wanted to do or learn, but have not tried yet? What, if anything, is stopping you?

Hmm, probably money and time is what's keeping me from most of the things; I like staying out of debt, so I live really modestly, and my job takes a lot of my time. Also, I'd hate to die skydiving, so that'd be the holdup for that. I'm not much of an adrenaline junkie anyway though, so not a big deal .

I'll have to answer Reece, Shouryu, and Ed's other posts later; I've been sitting down for too long XP.

One day? Probably the rhino, top speed is not too bad at 35mph. I'd go bankrupt trying to feed myself after a while though, so I'd be the cheetah if it had to be permanent.

Oh don't mistake me for a neat freak, I have waaay too much stuff and not enough space. I just don't like physical dirt very much (except in this room, I've given up dusting it, too much stuff).


And laundry leaves me conflicted. I also hate folding things, but I enjoy doing the laundry because I love the soap I use. I have never had brighter, softer clothes in my life. It's less than a buck a gallon too. I mix up five gallon batches of it at a time:
- 1 bar of finely grated castille soap
- Borax
- Washing soda (that stuff is awesome, it even stops the hard water issues)
- Lavender and bergamot essential oils
- About 5 gallons of water.

You could drink it (in small quantities) with no ill effects. No surfectants, no sodium laureth sulfate, no phthalates, I don't even have any bottles which need to be recycled as I just keep re using the five gallon bucket I make it in. I put it in a smaller bottle for everyday use. You just have to stir or shake it before decanting or using it as the soap tends to separate out inside the mixture.

It actually looks a lot like egg drop soup. I should post it in the natural health part of this forum. It's too good not to share.

I think my next hobby should be soap making. Right now the shave soap I use I get from a soapmaker in one of the Dakotas (forget which), and the castille I use is just Dr bronners (because it's cheaper than a boutique soap). I probably can't re create the shave soap without a lot of effort (hard to get just the right formulation down so it foams up nicely for shaving), but I could save even more money by making my own soap for cleaning and showering (also use castille in the shower).

For those who are wondering, castille soap is named after the castille region of Spain. It's an olive oil based soap as opposed to say, an animal fat (tallow) based soap. Tallow soaps are nice for shaving and showering as they have some inherent natural moisturizing abilities to them. They're falling out of favor though as if pork fat is used they are not kosher or halal, and if beef fat is used then many Hindus will not use the soap.

Many many classic soap recipies have fallen by the wayside because of tallow.

I remembered this today b/c I decided I needed to wash my floors and I didnt have any product specifically for cleaning floors on hand...I mixed Dr Bronners liquid soap (the same that I use to shower with), warm water, and baking soda and bought a dollar store broom to scrub every surface with the mixture.

Interesting fact about me...I actually have vertigo so whenever I sweep or mop or anything, the floor looks like it's slanted to me. I've been known to fall over while sweeping, from looking directly down.

Probably this...it was the first original of mine adopted by my band at the time (In His Service), and the most well received of our songs by others. The video was one of our biggest concerts, and the memories it holds are great. Though it might sound considerably different when I play it now, it, then, and they, will always hold a very special place in my heart and mind.

Cool, Reece. I liked listening to it, but when I get a chance I intend to listen to one of the other videos your band uploaded; one of the ones in which you're singing "Hello Again", but it's less of a concert setting, so I can hear the words better. The crowd loved it when you guys performed it ! Oh, and I could tell from talking to you that you aren't really a ":favorites" type, but I wasn't sure how else to ask you the question without it being a very long inquiry ("Reece, if you had to choose one song to copy and paste the link here, and you feel that this song has touched many people...." ).

Not the year eighty-one; I'm not THAT old XD. Home on the range...good...a little bit less busy in the Fall here, and we're considering dropping one of the things we do so as to make more time for other things (including catching up on sleep). In my answer to Shouryu, I intend to type a kinda interesting story about something that happened here recently as well.
Hehe, since you typed Love with a capital "L", does that mean I should say that I found capital-L-love when I was little ? As far as the human love kind, it's been awhile since I've had a sort-of-bf-but-we-haven't-defined-the-relationship-so-I-guess-"it's-complicated" friend like the ones we talked about in PM, but I haven't been looking, either. At the moment I'm fine with being unattached. We shall see how life changes in the future .

I have a home business, Shouryu. It's neat, but also hard to fully describe; I do so many different things as part of my job, and often special things come up. In August, for example, a gentleman called us and asked if we would help him propose marriage to his girlfriend . I was the one who answered the phone when he made the first call, which is part of the reason that I was the most involved with that. It was really sweet; we made it a really special time for her with a tour of the place and then he presented her with the ring. She said yes :'). Well, actually, she shouted "are you kidding me?!?!? Of course!" when he said, "so you will, then?". It was obvious enough to her that she had accepted the proposal, but he asked her again just to make sure . Funny, that was one of the most fun and also one of the most nerve-wracking $100 I've ever earned .

JJ -- that was green and great what you said and did for your sister. You might not see it but I just did a new thread for c.c. folks Where is this thread, Green? I looked for it, but I couldn't find it. and you're my inspiration, bro Yep.

So let me answer - 2 fold ans, I say, two fold answer, you know, there son.

If the fight is in a ring, Ernie takes Foghorn. It'd be nasty, but Ernie's the proven fighter in the short game.

If the fight is in a barn yard, it's Foghorn. Foghorn will use every tactic to his advantage and will ultimately lead Ernie inside the boundary of the barnyard dog's territory and the dog would finish Ernie faster than Miss Prissy's love life.

Interesting you should ask... I was just thinking yesterday about making wisecracks concerning the epicness of Thor. Thor is just a beautiful specimen of... all that is beautiful...

(Although someone just this afternoon snuck onto my computer and changed the wallpaper to a picture of Tom Hiddleston. I wonder if it's a sign.)

I'm having trouble fleshing this list out. I'm being kind of insect-oriented... I get along pretty well with most animals I guess. I only have one mammal on the list, politicians don't count.

I gotta report that I met a guy named Thor not too long ago! I couldn't believe it but he said his name was Thor. So I said "wow - you know I read your comic books".
