Its clear now that the difference between Jew and gentile is still with us today no doubt the Jews hold the law as the highest and only way to follow The Lord, the gentile sees grace and New Testament as the way to live today, in fact this debate has raged since Christ himself was here in the flesh, there's two things I'd like to say Jesus was The Lord of the Old Testament and the new and if he seen the need for a new covenant there must av been a need for it?, that need was because although the law was good and perfect we ( humanity) could never obey it?, therefore grace was to be the new covenant through faith in Jesus Christ? Who is the fulfilment of the law? No man can I repeat no man Jew gentile American British , no man ?, can come even to know the father except by me Sayeth The Lord? John 6 v44 .. If we cnt accept Jesus words on this it shows we are either still subject to partial blindness or we simply dnt understand the clarity of scripture , either way the fault lies with us? Jesus is the way to true knowledge of all things, we cnt bypass Jesus and go direct to the father, the father and son are one , all things are comitted unto the son .. Originally in total there were 613 commands king david reduces these to ten Habakkuk reduces them to one Habakkuk ch2 verse four The just shall live by faith? Faith comes by hearing not obeying all the commandments the Talmud originally stated ? Not one man can keep every law of god neither can we pick n choose ? The whole purpose of the law is to show us that we are or were in sin bt the law cnt stop sin it never has . We need to grasp this fact Jew or gentile to please the father we must accept how he says we are ableto please him? That is simple? Trust his son Jesus he paid the price for all of us lawbreakers? Then and now ?, wat is the work that god want us to do believe in his son ? A real Jew is not a person born in Israel no?, the true Jew is circumcised in the heart conforming unto likeness of his master again that is our lord Jesus ? God is no respecter of persons or demographics or heritage? The Lord searches the inner parts and he knows we're our hearts are in relevance to him and his word- amen

The aim of god to his children is to get his children to obey the law nt by compulsion or fear of retributive punishment bt to obey the law because he has revealed the truth to them and what it cost? The believer starts to obey our lord because of his gratitude and thankfulness for what his Heavenly Father has done for him? We cannot obey the law in self righteousness no no no ? In fact we could live a 1000 yrs and still not live by every law of god? The only person able to obey all gods laws was Jesus? , and his spirit in us allows us to fulfill the law so in reality Jesus is doing all the work inside of each one of us to reach the standard set? Therefore its not of us but by the spirit inside that makes it possible ? If we are really goin try to reach The Lord by law we are in a heap full of trouble, and at worst still in our sins -and Jesus death was in vain . Pointless? We know this to be wrong because his sacrifice was pleasing to god, hence we are stil here awaiting his return .. I and the father are one? If you have seen me you have seen the father amen

Jesus is the true vine? We the branches if we remove Jesus and replace by law we will wither slowly and die? How do we please god ?, by believing that Jesus died for us rose again and has given us the Holy Spirit as a deposit that we are indeed his own through time Jesus gets the believer to live a life that's pleasing unto him not perfect faultless living because in the flesh this just isn't possible ?, so trusting in what Jesus did for us and trusting him to fulfill the scripture in us which reads ? Phil 1 v6 this is the surety we have?? For he who began a good work in us shall also bring its completion?? Shall I who cause birth not also being to delivery?? God in us is our surety that he will complete the work he? Being The Lord amen

1) It doesn't negate God's salvation.

2) You are not taking into account that John wrote to those who were born again
that we are to confess our sins.

John was not writing to the unbeliever telling him to confess his sin in order to be saved.
He was writing to those who are saved.

You've got some reckoning to do with the word of God.
I by the death of Christ am reckoned dead to sin thanks be to God through Son
Colossians 1:22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

I find no way to improve on what is done already, can you.
Again you have yet to show me any scripture that says we are to ask for anymore forgiveness after Christ's death on the cross
Confession is not forgiveness. It is confessing I have sinned, it is not forgiveness!!!!!!!!!!!
Please Sister rightly divide the word of truth

it was a covenant made with them so they cannot see pass the law, that is why they can't recognise that God came and died for their sins also God did that, here is the scripture 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

That doesn't make sense.

The second doesn't follow from the first, it contradicts the first.
If you study history, you might know this is the truth of John's letter, but it is okay if you do not want to reconcile that God has forgiven you before you or I were ever born here on earth by Son on the cross
2 Corinthians 5:19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

I believe god wil not lose one who are truly his the lords love for all humanity and grace is just too big for us to grasp , nonetheless his love endures forever and unto as many as he calls and wills , this I'm sure god will bring to completion bt some who expect to be there will I'm afraid not be there and many will be suprised , even so amen ????

Jetson? Bang on ? This is the truth no ifs or buts or maybee,s we are saved by grace lest Jesus died for nothing and it saves no one ? This is totally against the bibles teaching I for one would not get tangled up in law when my lord tells me I'm free in him? Not free to sin but free to trust him this I would never change for legalism?

hizikyah i'm willing to have a nice reasonable conversation with you if you are willing, but you never listen to what i have to say to you, i'm willing to just discuss things, but you're just trying to justify your actions without even look at what i have to say, even from the bible, i believe if your willing to let go what you believe in and everyone just have an open minded conversation this thread would b closed
Yet neither are you investigating anything he has had to say, either, and I see both of you as believers, each seeing from a different angle
He is not claiming to be under the curse of Law, he is claiming to be in the Spirit of the Law, and that it was the letter of the Law that led him to Christ, and not making void the Law as the Corinthians did, and just went and did what they wanted without compassion for their neighbor, eating up all the food, and drinking all the wine
So instead of making void the Law he is showing that he is upholding it and not taking it for granted as what he has interpreted others are saying, making void the law so they can sin away without care for others.
Which I know that you and others are not saying.
Do you now see where the lack of communicating is at here?
praying so.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

We are not lawless....we live by the teachings of the New Testament.....this is the law of liberty because we obey God out of gratitude for His grace.

Uh, yeah. The question is what Law do you obey? Some ethereal idea or the Ten Commandments.

I was pointing out that repentance is not just a change of mind about what one believes,

but also a change of mind about what one was doing.
Now that change of mind about what one was doing is stopping that ones work of the flesh that does not please God ever and can't. Only Christ could and did. So we can be born again by God, here and now entering his rest.
So the reason why people do not enter God's rest is unbelief, which belief in God's finished work is what true repentance is.
And God picks you up and carries you over the picket line into God rest he has for you.
his kingdom in Heaven in the Spirit where no flesh and blood can enter. Too simple and unredeemed flesh fights and fights
The war is still today between flesh and blood, and the Spirit of God
Galatians 4:29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
Galatians 5:13 [ Life by the Spirit ] You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Philippians 3:3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh

Hmmm, so if someone comes to your house to night, has his way with your wife, knocks you senseless and steals all your possessions, he has not sinned?

Wanna post your address?

Your works, and your words, show what you have faith in.

Where does the Lord Jesus fit in to your law keeping?

What pleases God?
Uh, lemme see...

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Seems to say here that keeping His Commandments pleases Him.

The "commandments" in 1 John 3:22 are not the Mosaic Law. Rather, they are "the law of liberty", which are the NT teachings which we obey by the grace of God.

People can be related to the eternal, unchangeable, moral absolutes of God without being under the moral aspect of the Mosaic Law; and it is possible to be free from the moral aspect of the Mosaic Law without being lawless.

I don't think, if the conversion is real, that one will practice sin intentionally. We all make mistakes however. Those mistakes can be identified by studying the entire word of God, not just part of it. If we don't see our mistakes because of purposeful neglect, instigated by doctrinal belief systems, people just wind up doing what they want to, and continue to claim salvation without any Spiritual growth. I question that type of salvation. So just because a person claims it, doesn't mean they have it.

Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Does that make us a person that is judgmental unto condemnation. No. It causes us to see if a person is real or not by knowing what to expect and how to treat them. Scripture will tell us when we take it all into consideration. It becomes easier with time, and study, to know who is real and who isn't. It's called discernment.
when one really does believe with no malice in mind, God accepts them and they are born again by God from God through the cross of his one and only Son that ever pleased God the Father in the flesh. And thus all sin was and is condemned to the flesh

Okay here I am, just came to belief and I am born again by God a free gift from God to me and I am thankful, my first true love, seeing God first loved me. Then parasites try to destroy this new birth, and yet God will never forsake us so it can take much time to grow in the truth of God because of parasites that try to destroy.
EX: when an apple is born in and through the branch on an apple tree is it a perfect apple when first born, truth?
Yes it is, just not mature yet, not ripe for the eating, and is in the process of being ripened as it hangs on the branch, it grows into maturity over time, while parasites try to destroy this fruit.
So do we all now see truth here about each of us that do believe, we are by God given new life in the Spirit of God, some of us mature and others not so mature along with others that are freshly born (as an apple is) when it first appears and hangs off the tree branch, it is perfect as we, those that believe are also, not from or by us, from and by God

  1. Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  2. Romans 8:34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
  3. 2 Corinthians 5:14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

Good analogy except for the revelation of the Son being the midget
and the revelation of prophets being the giant (Heb 1:1-2).
thanks are you straining out gnats, be careful that you do not swallow a camel as the Pharisees did
love you sister
