Did Jesus tell His disciples to follow the Law?

No. He said, 'Follow me'.

To the rich, young ruler (who the law-cultist mindset loves to point to as an example of Jesus teaching to follow the law) Jesus said, 'Follow me'.

When Moses and Jesus were on the mount of transfiguration together with Peter, James and John, GOD the father said, 'Listen to my son.'

Rick. the problem is ,you have been told a lie, uncondional love does not save any one. Jesus on the cross save no one, when Jesus comes into your heart , you get saved. In a sense this "caling " "New birth " is free and unconditional, but on the other hand it will cost you your total conmittemt to Jesus. SO, this is what unconditionsal love looks like in your life experience: you will be totally transformed into the image of GOD in a moment. this is what happened to me, I got serious for salvation and begged God to come into me and save me, I stood us, a changed man. I feel transformed ,. no lights, no sounds ,just clean and renewed , ready to obey Jesus. You must Repent of your sins, trust in Jesus alone and obey Jesus, promise to die to self every day. pick up your cross, and follow Jesus every day. Love to all, Hoffco

Who is not changed when the Holy Spirit enters the soul? (I said that it most assuredly is)
Do you think you are holy? Please read I Cor. 1:30, and the myriads of other verses concerning sanctification.
Because you were changed, and take on a newness of life does in no way mean you are holy, or already sanctified.
- You are BEING sanctified. - To think any other way leads to self righteousness.
A lot of older saints start believing they are "glorified" because they aren't tempted like a young man is (with fleshly desires), this is a grave error.

My salvation is through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus alone.
No works of my own can do that.
No amount of obedience to the Law can do that.
100% pure grace.

John832, Your secend post is what sal. looks like, WE will do what Jesus wants ,not what we want. Your fist post was wrong. What Jesus did 2000 yrs a go doesnot save anyone; what Jesus does now ,in our hearts saves us. The new birth saves us, and our cross, diing to sin, saves us. Hoffco

When you couple that with Who Christ is (Creator of all, God Almighty) and what He can do...

Psa 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Science tells us there are 100 billion galaxies with 100 billion stars in each and on average each galaxy gives birth to one star a year...

That is somewhere around 190,260 new stars every minute. God names every one of them and keeps track of them as well as remembers the ones that die.

When I see how great God is and what He gave up for me, that He emptied Himself of His Divinity, became a man and died in my place when I was this...

Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I can honestly say I don't really understand that kind of love.

....and being tempted does not mean sinning.
As I said, - there are sins of commission, and sins of omission.
- The greatest saints were continually reminded of their fallen nature.

Now, the methods vary, and some are questionable.
But all preach a changed life.

No he didn't. He honored the law. He didn't tell them to follow it. The rich, young ruler was already following the law. Jesus told him to follow him, not the law.

Because a soul is aware of his/her frailties makes it condemned?
- In no way is that true.
- - You take my confession as a sinner saved by grace as my excuse to sin?
- - - You impart greater sins to me than I confessed, and in doing so; judged me.

I have to keep posting , because myPC will not receive your post without me posting a new post, so I keep posting .. I know what I am talking about, I have studed and preached for 52 yrs. after having 7 yrs of Bible coll. and Sem. training, BUT real learning for me. was when I forgot what the others were saying and started to just follow Jesus ' words. Men like Chuck Swindols are teaching a false gospel,, John MacArthur and John Pipper are good on sal.. You must just read the Bible for yourself.
