I'm giving up on my search for a mate. I have to be honest, I feel a sense of defeat. I'm going to pursue Jesus full time.

Got to be honest sadly I feel worse since try to find a mate than before I started looking.

I just pray that Jesus would restore my joy and happiness. It will take time, I hate failure but even more rejection. I face a lot of rejection in my life, and every time it breaks me.

Do I feel angry?? Yes, at times mostly at myself think why am I even doing what I'm doing.

I don't want this to sound insensitive...but yer' still so young. 19! How long have you been "searching" for a mate...since you were 7 or 8 years old or something? lol Don't give up! I mean you don't need to be actively searching either. Just don't give up on the hope that the Lord will bring you a mate in due time. He wants to fulfill the desires of your heart.

I think it's a great idea that you pursue Him full time..but yanno what? You need to be doing that, even more so once God has put a person in your life that you will one day marry. So just think of now as preparation time. Enjoy your singleness now...embrace it with zeal, and don't let discouragement get you down. This is the best time in your life..you're free to serve God 100% w/out distraction (not that yer' future spouse is a distraction) but you can now be in a place in your life that you may not be in later if you marry.

Don't let bitterness rob you of the joy & plans God has for you. Like I said,He knows what you need & desire. Seek Him & all those things will be added unto you. Does that mean that tomorrow God will bring yer' future spouse to your doorstep?? Ummm..probably not...BUT...then again don't limit Him in what He wants to do for you!

Chin up & God Bless! :)

You're barely old enough to even be married and you're this bitter already? If you don't learn to get your priorities straight in life, and have a realistic view and expectation of things, you can pray all you want but you will never be happy. You aren't turning to Jesus, you're running from your skewed sense of reality.

Hi brother,

I encourage you to go full time with Jesus anyways. Being intimate with Him is a priority with or without someone. A lot of people will disagree, but if you focus less on searching and more on Jesus. If it be the Lord's Will you will find a mate. Takes times. Think about the moment right now, this moment may be established to strengthen your relationship with Him before stepping through to the next level. Trust me, when I got into a relationship back then, I found out you need faith all the time (you need it all the time anyways lol), and it can get difficult. Don't necessarily just give up, unless the Lord has prepared you for that purpose. So what do I say? Stay true and spend a life devoted deeply in Him, then your spouse or such will come if it be His Will brother. If you look for someone as a person who is desperate for water, that's signs that you need living water.

Usually, if your focus is on Jesus, your character starts to be more like Him, and the person God may prepare you, will see your fruits before you even realize who she is. This moment is very special. Go for devotion, not lacking in diligence, but don't completely give up if the Lord will bless you with a mate. :)

I think you're quite young to be making such a decision and conclusion (so quickly)...
Take it to God first of all and trust that He has your best interests at heart...it's not the end of the world so you've still got time(lots of it)
You were rejected..(i know how that feels, trust me) but try to see it this way..God has better things, better people in store for you,for your future. The people that rejected you probably were probably never intended (by God) to be a part of your future. We've gotta have some faith and loadzzzz of patience!
Also your priority now should be Jesus and your relationship with Him..Seek Him first before every other thing..

I know its hard for you guys as you don't know me out side of these post. I'm a very strong Christian with a lot of faith in Jesus. My family is of strong faith as well. My relationship with Jesus is strong and a very good one (it can always get better).

I'm focusing all of my attention and re-reading the bible, praying, and just being with Jesus. I'm not really bitter, I'm just tired and weary. I can't continue looking and searching only to be rejected time and time again.

Jesus never rejects me, do I have more to learn yes. But, I want you guy to know. I'm not just a guy who just accepted christ as his savior yesterday. I've been walking in faith since I was adopted. Jesus has always been the center of my life, and still was even while searching for a mate.

Wish you knew me as a person, then you could see my situation in full. Thanks for all the post (even you ugly ;))

I know your not new to the faith brother, but how do you know that a time of greater sanctification is here? You feel down, sad, alone, wanting to give up. I believe it's a form of temptation, depending how you look at it. And if you put full faith in Jesus, it's an escape, and it purifies you. Temptation doesn't have to be fornication, immorality, or greed. It can even be anger, depression, unsatisfaction. You think your relationship is good where it is for a girl, but how sure can you be? If the Lord hasn't given you a fine lady, you must still wait for some purpose, one of which is to continue drawing near to Him. :)

Problem with the world today is everyone is looking for love so young, I mean some of my friends as young as thirteen speak about how they are going to marry the guy they are with, it just freaks me out. My suggestion slow down, God will put the right girl in your path, just be ready for when you meet her. Second piece of advice, don't call your future wife your mate, that might disturb them.

Become a monk? That means shaving your head and learning Latin -Gasp- I suggest you carefully consider your options , for example become a hermit and live in a cave. The negatives, caves are dark, the positive you get to walk with a wooden stick and never shave

I thought about being one, and be like the ones that live in a monastery in the mountains, but mainly they are eastern orthodox...yeah no...lol..not only that but monks live a devoted life outside the secular world. Cutting yourself off from a place you are meant to shine in, well...seems awesome but we need to tell the whole world about God.

Now a monk that doesn't live in a monastery or ever had lived in one...hmmm...I never heard of one ;)

Alright dude, be careful, pray about it from time to time. Never know, God might have a plan for you tomorrow, since last time I almost tried vowing, was held up by a girl I once fell in love with. But if you mean it, may the Lord prevail in whatever He wills brother.

Things of this life are so confusing, pray more than 30 times a day, I read the bible daily and I'm still confused.

At time I just don't fully understand God.

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2

When you are confused and don't understand what's happening, what's it remind you of? I think about sheep. Sheep are followers than leaders, most times they wander without even acknowledging it. But they always have a shepherd to help lead the flock. Sometimes that sheep is being led to a field of fresh grass, but he doesn't know, he is so confused that he relies his faith in his leader, the shepherd, to protect them. We all get confused sometimes, but following the shepherd makes the pathway better and straight.

True. And I do follow with faith.

How do the sheep know they are not being led to a slaughterhouse??

Just like that verse you posted. Without having the right mind to know who to follow, is likely to be led to the slaughter. But you are aware of who to follow. Jesus. :)
