Yup. Someone did beat you to it here, Grace, but thank you for posting it. It is great! There were some others along these lines, too, but in a different light. I'll repost:

"Different Realities" was very enlightening! Even though it was aimed at women specifically, I would challenge you to find very many men who could describe themselves to an artist like that. I sure as heck couldn't, even if my life depended on it. We just don't look at ourselves with that critical eye like women do, which is a shame because women are definitely God's greatest work. Men typically just make sure our hair is the way we want it, and that's it. Even though men are more visual, it is looking at women, not themselves. That is why I think you notice more men doing the describing of the women.

Even though I'm speaking as a man, I would bet that most people would say that women possess more beauty then men do. Look at all the pictures with nature scenes, and most often, there are women in them. Men, typically, make a picture more rugged and adventurous. Just look at the thread "1000 Words" with pictures put there by AsifinPassing, located at post#396. Every picture is an example of nature's beauty with the greatest of them, a woman, being put front and center. Find me a man that isn't moved by those pictures!

What is even sadder is that it seems that women are also more critical of each other. Even though on CC, there is a lot of support for one another, out in the rest of the world, that isn't true. I know that there has been a push in media for a very long time to compel woman to purchase more and more by making them feel inadequate unless they have certain things. Maybe, this has created a competition among women to fight for those things they are competing for.

Thank you AsifinPassing, that is the second thing today that you have posted that has touched me.

That is so true! Looking back, every woman I have loved has been everything that I loved about the previous ones. I guess that is why I look upon all my past relationships with fondness, regardless of how they ended. Each one gave me a part of themselves that I learned that I loved, and that I searched for in the next one, and until the last one.

I saw this videos months ago...the first time I saw it, it impacted me. I think we have a tendency, or at least I have, to see ourselves as the second best, the less greener grass, the not so bright ray of sunshine. I used to feel this way in high school, and I would be lying if I said I never feel this way now. But I know that as one of God's children, I shouldn't. I'm not the smartest, most beautiful, most skilled, or virtuos woman there is....but I have a purpose and a life full of meaning, just because God directs it.

I think Ugly posted this quite some time ago,I personally really liked it...and I remember the comments were about 50/50. Some people seemed to get upset saying "oh this is some worldly marketing ploy all over facebook now, yadda yadda yadda". Well, you know how us christians are...always inter-fighting about something. lol But seriously though, the truth of it is,is that we rarely see ourselves the way God the Father sees us. We believe so many lies fed to us via the devil, the media, friends, family, teachers, you name it. The thing we sometimes fail to remember is how now through the blood of Jesus we are viewed by God through His grace. He sees His Son when he sees us now. Not the sinful separated/fallen man...but now as His children again.

I'm just rambling here @ 4:30 am,and not saying anything we all don't already know,so forgive me. I enjoyed this ad,because even though it's "secular",it is in fact true that many times we never see much of the good in ourselves that God has placed in us. He thinks we are all beautiful & unique, blessed, anointed & called to do His work before the foundations of the earth were laid. I struggle with this. Daily. Multiples times daily. Some days, not at all. Women are wonderful, precious daughters of the Most High God...so strong & nurturing...amazingly & wonderously designed to be a perfect compliment to man. No wonder the devil has used every tool & trick in his bag to try & crush the spirit & light...the love & the hope that God placed in each one. He starts on them at such a young age...IMO even earlier than boys.

Thanks for posting this video again. I think God can use anything to minister or impart His word or truth...even secular media. Who's to say or limit Him on how he chooses to reach people. Anything that gets someone to even ignite a spark within them that might draw them towards Jesus or the truth of God & His goodness is fine by me.

Oops, sorry Ugly! Great minds and all. I'd seen it a while ago too, but thought it might be nice to talk about since women can be so hard on themselves. Asifin, the one you posted was very insightful!

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. It's also a repost. Forgot who posted it originally, but it was back around the time Ugly posted the other video. Anyway, sharing things that touch our hearts, I feel, is very worthwhile, thus, this is already quite a good thread.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

And if you arent into animals:

well. if someone wanted to make a nature scene with a mean looking guy to make it look rough, they could pick me I guess.. with my long hair, full beard and such and well people tell me I look mean. (who knows maybe I am mean)

but I don't allow pictures to be taken of me.
