you talk about the buildings 'collapsing into their own footprints' as if that is something strange...but actually it is exactly what you would expect from basic physics...
It's not what I would expect from basic physics, and I understand neither is it what several thousand architects and engineers would expect. But hey, they only design these buildings, what would they know about the mighty force of gravity?
If buildings naturally collapse onto their own footprints, why are demolition teams ever needed? Surely if it were as simple as on 9/11, they'd just get a pyro or two to set the buildings on fire, then after a further hour or so... Building would come down in a nice, tidy pile. Think of all the money that could be saved using that technique.
for each of the twin towers you have a 500,000 ton structure falling...all 500,000 tons of force is due to gravity...and the force of gravity pulls directly towards the earth's center of mass...so that is a 500,000 ton force vector pointed straight down... using simple trigonometry you can calculate the -horizontal- force required to cause whatever deviation from -vertical- that you are interested in...
Gravity isn't strong enough to pulverise a building as described. And although gravity only acts downward, the reactionary forces as one floor collapsed upon another would act in every direction but downward. When a building starts to collapse, as the collapse becomes uneven (and it will - it will neither start nor continue uniformly), the uneven collapse will become more and more exaggerated, resulting in the collapse to one side, rather than within the building's own footprint. This is the reason for properly designed building demolitions.
you can calculate that to cause a deviation of -even a single degree- from vertical...it would require a force of 9,000 tons...which would be roughly twice the force of a -category four hurricane- blowing on the tower...
Gravity can (and will) easily provide the necessary force, by an uneven fall. It's like a see-saw effect - you sit on one side of the see-saw, but the other side goes up, due to the lever in the middle. There would have been thousands or more such levers in the WTC tower collapse.
basically the towers were so heavy that no conceivable force could have caused them to fall in any direction -other than- straight down...so the buildings collapsing into their own footprints is exactly what we would expect...it is -not at all necessary- to invoke 'controlled demolition' as an explanation...in fact it would have been suspicious if the buildings had done anything -besides- collapsing into their own footprints...
Lol.
an ad hominem attack is when you attack the person in an effort to disprove their argument...and that is not what i did... zone's arguments are already thoroughly debunked...my point was to show that since zone had not arrived at her current belief through reason...she cannot be reasoned out of it either...no amount of contrary evidence is going to be able to convince her...which is more or less the very definition of irrationality...meaning it is all but impossible for her to contribute anything to a rational discussion...
So calling someone a liar for using a well-used figure of speech isn't an ad hominem attack? The phrases "sloppy 'research'", "depraved mind", "original irrationality", without anything to back them up, aren't ad hominem? How would you describe this tactic?
zone said 'everyone' believes something when in fact those who believe it are in the minority...that is not hyperbole or any other figure of speech or anything other than a lie...
Actually, current statistics are showing that more than 70% of people on this forum (5/7) believe that 9/11 was an inside job. It's not unreasonable (and certainly not dishonest) in our culture, to refer to such overwhelming support for a well-established idea as "everyone".
i really have nothing to be jealous of as far as zone is concerned...mental illness...mediocre intelligence...aversion to effort...these aren't things normal people are jealous of...
You do often come across as very jealous of Zone. I understand she is a very clever lady with an encyclopedic knowledge, but she has also had a lot more life experience than you. If you truly are not jealous, can I suggest you stop the ad hominem attacks against her, and also the baiting? I don't think either are convincing debate tactics, and neither are they appropriate for Christians. I'm not without sin, either, so please don't think I'm saying I am perfect.
if you want to discuss 'schemes of the devil'...i am convinced that one of the devil's favorite schemes is to -disqualify christianity- in the eyes of potential converts by making it look -insane- through the opinions and behavior of people like zone...
I'm convinced one of his favourite schemes is to -disqualify Christianity- in the eyes of potential converts, by making it look -insane- through the naivety and rhetoric of people like you. I don't think you believe all you say, but are just repeating the party lines you have been taught. "9000 tons"? "Twice the force of a category 4 hurricane"? I trust these are not your words or calculations. I was in a similar situation once - I'm not without guilt. But Jesus has given me more discernment.
and to answer your last questions...the pulverization of lots of steel and aluminum would have been caused by thousands of tons of force from a collapsing building...i thought that would have been obvious but i guess not... and rusting of steel is part of the normal aging process for any structure...so there would have been iron oxide in the building already... however it is also a fact that chemical reactions go faster the more finely the materials are broken up...pulverized iron can rust in a matter of days or even hours...
My point was that we are not talking about a few flecks of metal here and there, as would be expected were gravity the sole force responsible for bringing down the building.
