no they are not the same, visions are what happens when God shows you something like a dream when you are awake, and dreams occure when you are asleep. Dreams and visions sometimes have a lot of symbolism, mine do at least

Dream - unconscious memory pieces things together
Vision - if it doesn't elevate Jesus Christ alone is not a vision

Holy Spirit can speak to you through a vision in your spirit in any place at any time, you just need to be able to see it :)

A vision happens while you're awake. You space out for a moment and usually have no idea how long for, it's difficult to explain. A dream is like a vision, only it happens while you're asleep.

The vision and dream I had were both visual, with no sound.

There's a clear difference between a regular dream and a dream from God. When God gives you a dream you know it and the interpretation is always very clear. If you want Him to be even clearer you can pray about it. Visions and dreams should always be in agreement with scripture, so you need to use discernment.

[SUP]Job 33
14 [/SUP]For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

They are different, I've had both but still..

Jeremiah 23:28-29 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Yes I have had Prophetic dreams before, at least three time I can remember Dreaming something was going to happen and the next day it did

Dreams and vision are NOT the same. Visions are experienced while awake, while dreams are experienced while asleep.
Visions are LITERAL in their meaning. Dreams are metaphorical...which is why most people do not understand what their dreams are saying.
There are three sources of dreams and ALL are allowed by God:
1~those from God- These are usually about yourself and are instructional, revelatory, or informational about a situation or person given for the purpose of intercession
2~those from your own soul - these types help you to understand more about yourself.
3~Those from the kingdom of darkness-sent to cause confusion, fear, and unbelief; God allows these dreams so that you can have an understanding of what your spiritual enemy is up to...what HIS (the enemy) plans are for you so that you can come against them through warfare.
There are several common dreams that are from God:
Teeth falling out; falling off someplace high; flying; running with someone/thing chasing you; driving or riding in a car (who the driver is, who owns the car and where you are in the car are important.)
Hope this helps.
