I thank GOD for the brothers and sisters who are sola scripture here in CC, educated (some by theology, some by THE HOLY SPIRIT, some by BOTH), and GOD is pleased when we EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH.
God bless you all, no matter the differences we have, i know GOD is faithful when we continue to lift each other up in prayer so GOD may help us understand who is wrong and who isn't. Case in point HUMILITY(which am working on aswell) when GOD speaks to us, or teaches us.

Going to the OP.
Is it not awesome that when we have faced different arguments, trials and tribulations that we can go back to GOD and when HE leads us to scripture, all those anxieties, feelings just vanish and HIS word JUST WASHES away all those different thoughts and feelings. And how when we are washed by that very WORD, we get the unction to just do what THE LORD expects of us to do.
As the LORD said, Abide in me, and that we can never bear fruit(peace) without HIM

What do you say? What instant benefits have you seen from reading the Word of GOD IN the presence of GOD? How much has it washed you?

"What instant benefits have you seen from reading the WORD of GOD in the presence of God?"

Great question!

When I first began to read the bible, I actually thought that I had some understanding based on different things that I'd heard over the years.

As I read through the gospels, I expected it to line up with the things that I thought I knew. It shook me up to see that I was wrong. I read a verse where Jesus said that "unless we be converted and become as little children, we shall not enter into the Kingdom," and I realized that I had to put aside my own ideas and trust God the same as a child trusts a loving father. I also read where Jesus said, "seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you," and so I began asking HIM questions as I read the word. When He answers those questions there's a joy that can be compared to finding a huge treasure! And then you realize there's more where that came from!

Reading His word and considering His instruction on how to seek HIM has benefited not only myself, but my family as well, in so many ways.

In keeping Christ first, and taking heed to His word in any situation changes take place in us.

I agree 100 percent with this verse:

Psalms 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

(that verse also applies to a person young in faith.)

Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

How about you My Adonai? I'd love to hear how you've been blessed in studying the word in the presence of God.

Oh the very WORD you qouted did WONDERS for me.... The Word of God is also the BLOOD of God. The LIVING WATERS is the Truth and SOUL of the Word of God... God revealing scripture is WASHING WITH LOVONG WATERS BY THE WORD....

Every ONENESS the WORD brings us too, is God uniting us in HIS SOUL..... The PERFECT GOD MAKING US PERFECT WITH HIM.
My friend I can see how the Word edifies you in TRUTH wil ALL Truth-seekers. May the Lord bring you into the unity of the fath,,,, UNTO A PERFECT MAN...Eph 4.

Lord bless the seekers, as You always did.... SEEK AND THOU SHALT FIND... God bless you my friend.

The great command is... BAPTIZE.... not in water... IN LIVING WATERS BY THE WORD.... Baptize with TRUTH ....

I have noticed that no matter how many times I read a certain passage, there is always something new!
That is the living Word, the Living Word washes the soul, scrubs the spirit, makes a man whole.
Truly the Bible is the living Word of God.
Glory to God! How the Holy Spirit uses it as a rod and a staff.
- "thy rod and thy staff comfort me, thou preparest a table for me in the presence of my enemies"
- - The whole Bible is like a shower really, it's ridiculous. Just shows the total grace of God.
- - - I mean total grace. His tender mercies are new every morning! And great is His faithfulness.
- - - - It's total grace in every way.

Amen Rick, And I have PLENTY hope for us.... we spend enough time with God to GET HIM.... Ricky may the Truth make us free....And HE WILL... PERFECTLY FREE, or as He says.... FREE INDEED... WOW!

Ricky I witnessed a lion kill in the Kruger park one day, wow, it was amazing. the lion is a powerful animal. And the Word says Satan is like a roaring lion.... but he is a whimp against the people that love GOD! God is on their side...

God's word continually washes our feet being in this dirt laden world....

Also

It continually dethrones self/me and enthrones Jesus

Crossy God does not have to continually clean ....ONE WASH is enough... God's Word and Work cannot be undone.... Let me show you God only perfects ONCE...
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Crossy you are AGAIN in ERROR.... God only wash ONCE... THEN HE KEEPS clean....

Please not that those who KEEP His word IS PERFECTED... with the LOVE OF GOD...
It is not keep and lose and get and keep and lose and get and keep and lose and get... Then perfect then not then perfect then not.... That is Satan teachings.

God says ONCE perfected ALL the ones sanctified to KEEP HIS WORD and HIS LOVE IS PERFECTED IN THEM...

Here is the ONCE PERFECTED... it is not sanctified then sinning then sanctify then sin then sanctify then sin AS YOU TEACH... You listen not TO GOD'S WORD listen to this....

ONce perfected.... FOREVER.... There is NO PERFECTION in a sinner NONE!!!!

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

And NOTE ... NOT BEING SANCTIFIED..... ARE SANCTIFIED... That is SEALED IN HIS HOLINESS AND PERFECTION.

The water does indeed continually wash.
Peter walked with Jesus 31/2 years, yet forbade the savior to wash his feet at the end.
What did Jesus say at the end of His life, when He was ready to go to the cross? - "If I don't wash you, you have no part with me". (John 13:8)

Rick how many times did Jesus wash his feet? Every day or just once on one day....If Jesus wash you with HIS Blood, you need NEVER be washed again, because AFTER the WASH comes a Baptism... One of a SPIRIT that VANNOT GET DIRTY... HIS SPIRIT.

Jesus only fills you with the SPIRIT AFTER HE WASHED YOU ONCE.... ONCE! Not every day you are washed and baptized... ONE WASH ONE BAPTISM... the WASH might take long but the BAPTISM is INSTANT... Read Acts 8 and see how long it took Samaria to get baptized with HOLY SPIRIT... HE FELL ON THEM... Yet it took time to get rid of all the dirt.... the KEEPING CLEAN, is INSTANNT as soon as SANCTIFICATION is complete, you are SEALED in an instand... The BLOOD does not seal, the SPIRIT does.

The Blood wash away sin, The Spirit KEEPS away sin... Two of the final steps... Justification is cleansing ans sanctification, but glorification, is BAPTIZE AND FILLING OF HOLY SPIRIT... Sanctification and justification TAKES TIME, but Glorification is instant...

Rick to be part of His blood is not to be part of HIM... He is not BLOOD, HE IS SPIRIT.... If you are not washed in the Blood you CANNOT have the Spirit... and if you have the Spirit, you need no more blood....

Cobus, while the disciples traveled with and met the needs of the savior during his ministerial years, there is no example of Him washing their feet.
Yet the very night He departed from them He made a point to wash their feet.
Now, why do you think that was?

That those who sought to lead must serve.
No generals in heaven. Also it displayed the reality of sanctification.

The scriptures refute your error. He keeps clean by the continual washing and renewal of the spirit through the word. The priests who served the altar were sanctified and clean, yet had to continually wash themselves with water in the bronze basin between the altar and the temple to cleanse themselves from the sinful sacrifices they handled, or else they would die.

That is a shadow of our walk where we are to wash ourselves in the water of the spirit through the word to be cleansed from the images of the world that defile our mind, which can cause us to do dead works.

Ah, the Doctrine of foot washing. One of my favorite. For it surely is the greatest example of Christian humility that Jesus taught. Well, in my opinion. But it is important to read the whole account, not just a verse or two.

John 13:3) Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 .) He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 .) After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 .) Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 .) Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 .) Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 .) Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 .) Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 .) For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. 12 .) So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 .) Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 .) If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 .) For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 .) Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 .) If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

THOUGHTS:

1) From vs.7 "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me." IMO Jesus is speaking of His "washing" of our sins with His precious blood, not His washing Peters' feet. If we are not "washed" in the precious blood of Jesus, we "have not part with Him" do we?

2) From vs. 10 "He that is WASHED needed not save to wash his feet, BUT is CLEAN every whit" IMO Jesus is saying those who are "washed" in His precious blood are "clean every whit." Save for the washing of their feet.

It was a custom of the time that the master of the house have one of his servants wash the feet of guests who visited with him. In that folks mostly wore sandals, and the climate was a dusty one, peoples feet would get quite dirty. It also served as a way for the master of the house to honor his guests, and to provide them some comfort after their journey.

As well, this passage of Scripture can be compared to the teaching of the "cleansing" or "washing" of the CUP that Jesus spoke of (see Matthew 23:25). Man is most often concerned about the washing of his "outside" self, when Jesus came to "wash" man's INSIDE self.

3) Believer's quickly accept the Doctrine/practice/observance of Water Baptism and the Celebration of Communion, yet they "strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel" [Matthew 23:24] when it comes to the Doctrine of Foot Washing. Jesus clearly states in vs. 14) If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 .) For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Question is: Do we "strain at a gnat?" Or do we obey our Master?

God bless

It's not so much a matter of foot washing but more a matter of (poor) memory due to the Fall and the old nature that seeks to redominate that we need continual washing with the Word.

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

I found that no matter how much I read I never understood. I was tilling earth, without spirit. All I could do was beg for forgiveness. And one day it came....i don't know how or where but it came. At first I was confused by its meaning but I was also driven to it. It's simple Baptism with living water. Every time you start to doubt or get confused about scripture just say this to yourself...."see water as life not a drink". Proclaim it to everyone and build everything on top of it and make yourself "at rest" with its deep underlying meaning to you, ponder the depths with it. Its the seed and from it your spirit will follow! It did for me.

Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces toward the east; and behold, the water was trickling out on the south side. Going on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, the man measured a thousand cubits, and then led me through the water, and it was ankle-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep. We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Cobus, while the disciples traveled with and met the needs of the savior during his ministerial years, there is no example of Him washing their feet.
Yet the very night He departed from them He made a point to wash their feet.
Now, why do you think that was?
What did Jesus say?
That those who sought to lead must serve.
No generals in heaven. Also it displayed the reality of sanctification.

Rick Jesus gave the reason why He washed their FEET.... So they can become PART OF HIM.... It was Jesus showing them that they will do and be the SAME AS HIM.... They were ot after the wash ofthe feet..... That happened when HE MADE THEM ONE WITH HIM....

There is this Scripture Jesus gave them.... THERE IS MANY THINGS I WANT TO TEACJ YOU..... BUT YOU CANNOT BEAR IT YET...
So even AFTER washing their feet, they were STILL NOT ONE WITH HIM.... The knowledge, gory, holiness, pureness, Godliness and power Jesus had was NOT GIVEN AT THE FEET WASH.... It was given RIGHT AFTER THE BLOOD WASH....

When these men Jesus washed the FEET off, were baptized with FIRE AND SPIRIT only THEN were they ONE WITH GOD AND JESUS. Only then they were PAERT OF JESUS, and ONE WITH THE BODY OF CHRIST....

Ricky what went wrong with Judas... his feet were washed, but he NEVER was one or part of Jesus.... Jesus said YOU ARE NOT ALL CLEAN.... Yet he washed them all.... Oh the others were declared SAINTS, but not PERFECT yet...

Again ricky the only true doctrine stands in the Word.... All men there were Saints, clean as saints except one.... He was NEVER clean...But Saints have not the SEAL OF PURENESS YET.... they were COMMANDED to WAIT....

The SAINTS of God were still to be made HOLY MEN OF GOD.... and that is the baptism of fire, To burn ALL EVIL AWAY and to INDWELL, IMPLANT, FILL THEM with the Holy Spirit... abd here is when that happened...

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,

Baptism of FIRE AND SPIRIT.... BORN OF GOD.....BORN AGAIN....MADE ONE WITH GOD..... JOINED TO THE BODU OF CHRIST... The final step of salvation....God implants HIMSELF AND HIS SON IN FLESH OF A SAINT....

Saints are CLEAN and PURE as God himslef, but not yet GODLY WITH GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT AND GLORY.... that comes with the FILLING OF THE HOLY GJOST.... the FINAL STEP GOD DOES TO A SAIT... To make the Saint a SAVED SINNER... A HOLY PERFECT MAN IS A SAVED SINNER.... A SINNER SIN, A SAVED SINNER DOES ONLY GOD'S WORK....

The washing Daily with the WORD OF GOD, is the same as the take up you cross SAILY and follow me.... So it is STILL US PURIFYING OURSELVES....

Dying to sin, is washing of the WORD... that is daily until we are as PURE AS HE IS... THAT IS OUR JOB... It is NOT the JOB of God to purify us... It is OUR JOB.... God gave the Word of God... the LIVING WATERS TO DO SO.... You already have ALL the LIVING WATER YOU NEED TO CLEANSE YOURSELF TO SAINTSHIP.... PURE AND CLEAN AS GOD IS PURE AND CLEAN... SPOTLESS CLEAN.... 100% sanctified FROM ALL EVIL.... BUT!!!!!

Clean is not DONE... God still has to BURN AWAY ALL THE DIRT.... HE still has to remove you as far as the east is from the west... That he does with HIS CLEANSING.... When HE WASH YOU IN THE BLOOD... When God gives you HIS SOUL... God can only give the soul of God to an ABSOLUTE OUR person.... A PHYSICALLY PURE, MORALLY BLAMELESS, AND MOST HOLY PERSON God calls them SAINTS... A SAINT IS AS OHUSICALLY PURE, AS MORALLY BLAMELESS AND AS HOLY AS GOD. BUT NOT PERFECT YET.... The GLORY AND POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, STILL NEEDS TO BE IMPLANTED. Then the MAN OF GOD is completed...

Whoever think it is GOD washing us with the WATER by the WORD are gravely mistaken.... YOU HAVE TO PURIFY YOURSELF.... YOU HAVE TO CRUCIFY THE OLD MAN GOD DOES NOT DO THAT FOR YOU.... YOU HAVE TOO!!!!

Crucifying the old man and purify yourself... EXACT SAME THING...
READ THIS AND STOP FALSE TEACHINGS....
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Please not... PUTIFIETH HIMSELF... TO BE AS PURE AS GOD..... God gave you the Word to achieve and DO THIS.... BE PERFECT!!!!!!

Awesome points brothers and sisters.
God bless you all, and i thank GOD for you all.
May we all get even deeper and deeper understanding of the word of GOD.

Please no arguments bros and sisters, i know am a constantly a student to the things of GOD not a teacher, God is the teacher..

JESUS was humble, very humble. And i want that, that humility before the FATHER and before man, before those HE created. Imagining that, those who HE created, HE humbled HIMSELF. . That is OUT OF THIS WORLD (pun intended). Its a heavenly character.
and thats part of what i see from that washing of the feet part. And we read from scripture that HIS humility hanged on the cross, and descended into hades, but later EXALTED unto the right hand of the FATHER.
i want that, i pray for that..............
