Single: What do you like about being single and what do you not like?

things I like about being single: not having to clean house if I don't feel like it, watching shows or movies I want to, spending alone time, not being distracted by someone else's moods Hanging with some of my sistah's! either in fun or in bible studies without worrying about leaving out a spouse..

things I don't like: traveling alone, sleeping alone, eating alone, going to movies alone, doing other activities alone, studyiing alone, praying alone, waking up alone, paying all my bills alone looking for someone to help with maintenance on car, trying to find help to move furniture or anything else..things men usually do for their wives. I used to know allot of single men in my old church but in my recent church (2.5 years) I know mostly married couples and those guys though they have helped in the past without my asking, are busy and doing things for their own wives as it should be
It is not easy being a single woman..and always hanging with the chickies

Anyway that's my input!

I find that the best thing about being single is having the freedom to do whatever I want..

The worst thing about being single is not having anyone there to catch you when you fall.

Well I guess I understand how the women who've posted thus far feel. Well the things that you said, that's just how most men are.I think that we will see more and more single people as the years go by. Its sad. I don't like being single over all. It feels unatural. Its lonely and depressing. As you all get older you will probably feel the same way. Being by your self gets old after a while. If you stay stuck in your selfish ways you won't have to worry about it, you will be single. Most of you have commented on all the things that you desire without any regard to what a potential spouse may desire. You probably need to be by your self because that seems to be the only person that you are concerned about.

I am glad that you've posted this. It seems like a lot of people want a relationship for themselves.

Number 2 is def my fav thing about being single. I've had so many relationships where the girl is so sweet in the beginning and it's the best thing ever....tons of good cuddling and weeks spent doing absolutely nothing and having the time of my life.....then bam....2 or 3 months later, the evil tyrant queen from hell decides to show up .

Similar to what others have said, selfish as it may seem, the best part about being single is the ability to do whatever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want, whyever I want, and have no one to think about or answer to but God and myself. If I want to drop everything and start a new, different life one day, I can. (Mostly)

I find the worst part about being single is no Dod (like Eros ) or Ahava. There's no committed or physical (sexual, sensual, and otherwise) love in my life. I reserve most if not all of those affections for a romantic relationship, so for lack of better word...it's somewhat colder, lonlier, and more dissonant/stoic in life without that aspect.

Truly, the only thing I don't like is that fact that I have to work and that I don't have a man to do the 'man' things of the house, like fix things and keep the car maintained and yard work. Yup. Which is why I don't seek marriage. I am truly aware of the reasons I'd want to marry and it wouldn't be beneficial for the man in any way. I'm better off hiring a day laborer.

I know a woman who says, "Why do I need a man? I already HAVE a pickup truck..."

I have just recently become single and can't think of one thing I don't like about it. Even with all the difficulties it presents in my own personal situation, I find I am a much better person being single than married or in a relationship. I married very young and basically went from my father's home to my husband's. There has never really been a time of independence in my life until now. My first marriage ended in divorce and I can see now that I should have remained single after that. After almost 40 years of being accountable to another person I find I am entering into a phase of my life that I know very little about. It is a strange concept to me that I actually can go where I want, eat what I want, read what I want......I can make decisions for myself with out consulting with anyone else. My decisions as to what will happen in my life are all my own now. I find that it is taking a bit of getting used to but Im learning quickly. I think the thing I like the most about it is that I no longer have to accept another person's bad ideas as part of my life. I can't think of anything I dont like about it.

Single/Unmarried Likes: me time (being able to paint for hours and not having to worry about "abandoning" someone else). That's pretty much it - There are other things I like about being single but that's more about my exes than anything else. LOL

Single/Unmarried Dislikes: not having someone to share my life with, no one to cuddle with/kiss/hug, no one to write love notes to, no one to take to the couples events i'm invited to, no reason to join couple groups at church, No one to share the fun duties with like laundry and taking out the trash , No romantic trips/dates, No one to take care of, No one to talk on the phone with for hours, No shoulder to cry on, No one to have a family with, No one to share my devotion with
