Women, what makes you a good wife to your husband?

I'll start,

I serve my husband his plate(s) of food and drink of choice.

When he is really angry, I get naked! (Hopefully that is not inappropriate, yikes)

(from a mans point of view) for the most part my wife is a great submissive woman. She stands strong on her beliefs and usually seeks my approval in her actions (As well as Gods) yea she follows your last two posts as well and sometimes tries creative means to douse my anger. Even when she is grumpy or not feeling very loving towards me she still (usually with stomping and huffs) fulfills my needs. (keep in mind my wife does not work so her sole job is her hobbies and me!!) the point i am trying to get to is that there is much that makes a woman a good wife.

I also feel that many people, both men and women, completely take the passage about a submissive wife out of context... PEOPLE THAT IS NOT SAYING WIVES ARE DOORMATS!!!!!!!

He is a good husband. More than I deserve. I have always been taught
he comes first. It is a standing joke in our family gatherings, making fun
of the fact I have always fixed his dinner plate and drink and take it to
him, where he is sitting ~ The younger ladies feel like I am making them
look bad. That is not my intent. I just do it for him because I love him.
Remember ~ The way to a mans heart is through his stomach ~

I make sure to feed him good meals. That way he knows where home is.

Seriously, though I try the Proverbs 31 approach. When done right, life is good.

so everyone refers to proverbs 31 as the chapter for a virtuous wife.
Is there a paticular chapter for a Godly husband?

what's that verse or collection of verses that said husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church. i like to refer to that one too

The proverbs 31 woman was also an actual woman. In the Hebrew bible the ordering of the books is different. In the Hebrew bible you turn one page over from Proverbs 31 and find the book of Ruth. Now, you might say that doesn't convince me. Look at Ruth chapter 3 verse 11. Then consider the story of Ruth and the description of the Proverbs 31 woman.Ruth is the Proverbs 31 woman.

Yes that was more what i was asking, with proverbs 31 being an example of a virtuous wife is there a chapter of an example of a Godly husband? i ask this because sometimes it makes the point easier to understand when you see or in this case read of an example of flesh fulfilling the actions....

If Ruth, who may or may not have been the Prov. 31 woman, can be virtuous in her day, then so can i. Especially with conveniences like a refrigerator, a sewing machine, electricity, internet, etc.
men have plenty of examples and advice in the new testament on how to good husbands, they just need to pay attention. what have women got? the lives of the women in the Bible.God knew men need the obvious and women need examples.

I was not discrediting anyone or any passage. I was seeking a males perspective. more specifically passages pertaining to husbands.... perhaps i should have started a thread rather than a rabbit trail.....

I'm loyal, I honor him. I have his back basically. I don't know why I'm answering, because I'm not good at answering these types of questions. Um, I wash his stinky work shirts, I do the best to raise our children in a Christian Home. I cook most of his meals. I scratch his back, he scratches mine too. I pick tomatoes with him in the summer and I try really hard to be nice.

This is an excellent idea. We see too much about what makes a good wife but not enough on what makes a good husband.
I apologize if seemed snappy, I'm just tired of the same-old, same-old

My husband tells me the thing he loves about me most is my good cooking! Seems like a lot of husbands say that on this thread.

I do know he appreciates that I love God, serve God and put him second! That doesn't mean my husband ever gets neglected, but he is happy that I am a Christian and I am always seeking for ways to know God and love him more.

I think when I love God more, somehow it makes me love my husband more.

wow the op started both this thread and one asking the same of men at the same time. this thread has 90 views 17 replies. the one on men has 26 views and 0 responses..... kind of speaks loudly... not sure i want to hear what that is shouting....

lol I'll go answer on the other one and ask my husband what makes me a good wife. :) i feed him occassionally but half the time he feeds me....

hmmm maybe because I can get him to relax and stop stressing out about life and we can laugh together.

some days I think I've just replaced his favorite teddy bear to cuddle up and fall asleep with. lol, j/k
