Religion. One word, but so much power. Christianity is known as one of the world's top religions. But open up your Bible, and show me one verse that says that Christ came to bring a new religion. He never said that, nor did He intend that. And the Word of God is taken out of context too often nowadays. And to be honest with you, when it comes to religion, Christianity isn't the first one. There were many religions before Christianity. So when it come to debating about religion, we'll always lose. And that's good. Because God didn't send His son so that you can debate about Him. God didn't give us His one and only begotten son so that we we could fight with other people about Him. Christianity isn't a religion. It's a faith. So please stop making a mockery out of it. Cause really, what do you have to gain from it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I can go on, and on. But, I think I've made my point.

In the end, there's only one way. The path to Hell is wide. The path to Heaven is narrow. So many religions, one path. And that's just how I look at it.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

I call Christianity a religion but it is unlike other ones which require works to be saved. It is a religion about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, loving God with all your heart, mind, and strength and loving others as yourself. So I have no problem calling it a religion. For a while, any belief system that was a way of life for people was called a religion, so I use that term. I don't think of it as a bad word like some who say, "Did you just say that you are in a religion? Aahhh! or something around those lines. Plus in the Bible the term religion is used. It is true, that Jesus brought in the New Covenant but that does not dismiss the idea that Christianity is a religion in a sense. If some people don't want to see Christianity that way, that's ok. But I see it that way, that is how I approach it. Also, debating about religion, should not be about winning or losing. You can win a debate, but the person will not accept the results. But if you win the debate and the person comes to Christ then that is good. If you don't win the debate and the person still comes to Christ then in both cases God was working on the person whether they realized it or not. Also, the terms faith, religion, etc are virtually synonymous with each other. Or using the term creed, belief, belief system, etc. Those are just my two cents. God bless.

P.S. You are saved, you are not sinless, God has imputed his righteousness to you but you are not sinless. Jesus was the only sinless man who was and is God and did not give into temptation and other things. You still have the flesh to do with and through reading the Bible, praying, etc you fight that battle. You are no longer a slave to sin, but a slave to Christ. According to some that is a paradox, but true freedom is found in Jesus Christ.

Sir, with all due respect, I still sin. I know that. My flesh will always sin. but, I am sinless and righteous. Not because of what I did, but because of what He did for me. Christ came to bring us life; His life. So, in order to live His life, we have to be sinless and righteous. Otherwise, Heaven is not for us. Being sinless isn't in the flesh. It's in the spirit. The flesh is nothing. It's the spirit that God wants.

I see your point, but it could have been made clearer. Otherwise you sound like those who are saved by Jesus and say that they can never sin anymore and don't have the flesh left over to deal with using the ammunition like the Bible, praying, etc to fight against. we can never stop sinning. It's who we are, in the flesh. But the spirit can be made sinless and righteous, not the flesh. I'm glad you understood. God bless you too.

Love you both, I know you both mean well, praying for us all, and I am talking to me as well as everyone else knowing what flesh does in and of self that we all are stuck with here on earth praying we all start and see the fight is none other than Flesh over God's Spirit of new life given to the ones that believe in the Spirit not the flesh.
So maybe we start dying to flesh daily and be alive to the Spirit of God

I'm not offended. I'm saying your indiscriminate use of "you" is going to turn off your audience unnecessarily. You're being given advice here, not attacked.

Psychics do this, you know. They say very vague things to a large audience and eventually it will stick on one person and they convince that person that they were talking to them in particular. Everybody else is impressed because it looks like it was a spirit-sent message for the one person, but if you toss enough at a wall, eventually something will stick.

Maybe, if these messages needed to be heard by particular people, you can deliver them in such a way that it's clear?

I'm already dead to my flesh. I died with Christ on that cross, and I received His life. My life, I live no more. No more shall i live in my flesh. Yes, I'll go back to it once in a while, because we still sin. But the spirit can remain sinless.

So, I would say, if someone asked what my religion was, Christian or Christianity. But, if someone asked if I was a Christian, I would say, "I am a disciple of Christ" or "I am a follower of Christ".

Jesus didn't come to create religion, but to call us all to His family, to be like Him. The church is not a building. The church is a body of believers. I think we've forgotten this.

Religion is of works and deeds, and morals. Christ, is about salvation and redemption. That's just how I look at it. You don't have to agree with me, you know?
