Hi Twilight,

I think I qualify to answer your question as I'm over 40.

I pretty much go by the following scriptures:

Mat 6:32 "For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Mat 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
Mat 6:34 "Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I don't see anywhere in the scriptures that we are supposed to seek a husband or wife. However we are to seek Him, our Heavenly Father, and to get to know Him.

You can compare two characters in the old testament, Issac and Jacob. Issac did not seek a wife and received a prize. Jacob did seek a wife and ended up with the wrong woman. I believe it works the other way round as well. Women desiring husbands.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts.

Blessings

Those are some very encouraging thoughts, Splat! Thanks for the feedback. That's a really good perspective to have. It sometimes takes a while to get there, doesn't it. Right now, I feel like God is teaching me this in several different areas, not to hope to or try to find my identity or my happiness in anything (career, spouse, family, even ministry) besides Him. Hard lesson to learn at times, but He's definitely worth it!! God bless, brother.

P.S. Is that a puppy you are holding in your pic? What breed?

Hey M, I'm curious why there is pressure to have a baby in the house? Do you mean you feel pressured because you're not married, don't have baby? Or do you mean your sister-in-law? I would love to know what it's like for you where you live. Also, where is Qatar? Are you from there? Take care, girl. Love to hear from you again.

Splat! I stared at your picture a couple times and can not figure out how that could be a crocodile!! Guess I'll just take your word for it. Are you in Australia? I really have no idea where most of these flags are from. Is there a feature on the site that tells us that? Well, g-day to you. I would love to see that country some day. Watched a documentary on it recently and was fascinated how dry and desolate and wild so much of it is. Talk later gator,

Caroline :)

Hello Twilight, I just like Splat I'm over 40 soon to be in my mid 40's. Sometimes I feel like God has really rip me off. But of late I beginning to realize God has always had a way of making those He cares for the most WAIT! Abraham had to wait a long time before Isaac was born to him and Sarah. And the Prophet Moses waited a long time before God called him. Zacharias and Elisabeth were well stricken in years, but God remember them and they gave birth to John the Baptist. That being said it still is a very painful place to be at.

Hey, logos83, I hear you. It can be hard. One thing I have been doing lately is asking God to show me if there is something I am doing or not doing that is saying I am not available or not open to a loving relationship. And He has been showing me some stuff, like hurt from the past that may cause me to be, shall we say, guarded with the opposite sex. Because for so long I always just felt, well God must just mean for me to wait longer, but then a single friend of mine told me how God showed her something similar about herself. So it seems there may be areas in people's lives that need healing before they're "open" to that right person. Does this register with you at all? Not to discourage you. But instead, if God reveals an area, we can ask Him to heal us, show us what we need to do to change. Some food for thought. Take care.

Oh, logos, that's not to say that this should be our primary focus. Before I asked God this, He took me through a process of laying down my desire for a husband and family and entrusting it completely to Him. It seems that it was after I did this, He started revealing things to me. We do really need to cultivate a deep relationship with God, which really is the deepest need and hunger of our heart, whether we feel it or not. I feel I need to keep Him first, seek after Him, love on Him, and when and if He wills, in His love He'll bring that right someone. He really does care about our hearts though we find life hard to understand at times. God bless.

I can't have kids.. and this suits me just fine. I don't even know if I want to be married.. It would be nice to have a boyfriend as long as it's mutually agreed we wont go too far physically. What I really want are more friends. Male and female. I don't have enough friends and those who are have their own families. I think I could be content.. at least for now, with more single friends.

Has anyone else noticed how a dog is a pre-kid? It use to be a dog was just a dog. But now whenever my married friends get a dog, a kid is sure to follow.
