Does that make me less of a Christian in some eyes?

Im tired of the old fashioned perspective on topics like these...Its like we are still living in the times of the Old Testament, things have changed and God knew these things would change, We learn more about the world now then we ever did and im still able to perfectly fit the Bible into my life, because The Bible is a book that points to God, it teaches you how to be a good person, it has never been a history book so why do we treat it as such? In the bigger scheme of things does it matter if there was a flood? Does it matter if Jonah was swallowed by a whale? Does it matter if the Earth was created in 7 days?

No.

These stories point us to God and teach us who he is and what he wants us to become. If you go back to the story of creation, I ask if it matters if the Earth was created in 6 days, I dont think it does, The 6 days show an ordered process that does follow the steps of evolution, it goes from plants to birds then land animals followed by people...the creation story is meant to tell us that we did not come about from chaos but that it was an ordered purposeful creation. Why spend time arguing about something so inconsequential when there are bigger issues about.

There is NOTHING wrong with being Gay.

Lets all get the planks out of our eyes and realize that not one of us are good people, who are we to judge anyone? By thinking that we are better or more right than any other person in itself makes us sinners and not right to judge. I get it your arguments

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"

Good ol' Leviticus, this is a book that goes over everything that you would need to do to be Perfect...it is impossible for us to do alone, every single person reading this post has broken the Law set in Leviticus, lets name a few (if you want me to source these let me know but you will find them all there) Letting your hair become unkempt, tearing your clothes, stealing, lying, defrauding your neighbor, bearing a grudge, any tattoos, not standing in the presence of the elderly. These are all in Leviticus, what makes your sin better than theirs? Plus hating the Gay community and not allowing them to hold posts in churches is completely ridiculous and completely goes against Jesus....do you wanna know the 1 law that matters over anything named in Leviticus? Love thy neighbor, your neighbor isnt only the person sitting next to you or across the street, it is everyone in this world and Jesus wants you to love everyone unequivocally. Being Gay is not any worse of a sin than any of ours, I would say it might even be better than us as we spend our days holding grudges and lying to our neighbors, they in that sin are loving....

Love is never wrong
Homosexuality is sin that leads to death, not only does it hurt the two same sex people involved, but it hurts our children who watches them. Those who say it's no problem are also hurting our children. This is not love!!!!! To allow others (without words or deeds) to pick up a hurtful path that leads to destruction both of their bodies and soul.

True love does not turn a blind eye to any sin.

Be gentle guys.
As long as he believes the Gospel, the Spirit will do the correcting.

1. We are all sinners.
2. The punishment for sin is death and eternal separation from God(2nd death).
3. There is no way to get to God based on what you do, we are too messed up to get it right.
4. God loved His creation soo much that He made a way to save them.
5. The penalty for sin is death, so He sent His Son to die in our place.
6. His Son is also God, and is therefor infinitely more valuable than us, so when He died it was worth more than all of us could do.
7. Not only did Jesus (God's Son) die, but He rose from the dead, giving us victory over death!
8. He promised that those who trust in Him and His sacrifice would be adopted as His brothers and sisters (the Children of God), and would share in His inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven.
9. He sends His Holy Spirit to stay with and guide His people, to help them love one another, and grow in faith. (repentance is part of maturing in Christ, not salvation).

Christ died for our sin, and rose from the dead. Trust in that, and you are saved.
Don't mean to derail the thread, but I don't agree with this. You can believe, but never receive Christ. You can have a spurious faith. But if he is a genuine believer you are correct.

If homosexuality is his sin, then what is yours that will lead you to death?

And true love does not expose sins, it covers them!

Love is Love..sex is the greatest way to show love for your significant other because it is so personal, Lustful Sex is not love.
You are incorrect here, the greatest act of love is to die for another.

Not to correct you but to add to this just to be clear so no others may confuse themselves...
Lay down ones life, is different from dying

This also does not mean one can sacrifice ones salvation(eternal life) for another
As we are not given the power to give this away
We are only given the power to serve...which is what Christ meant in laying down his life for his friends.
Once a person is dead, they are no longer of any use here on earth

hmm, could be anger, I repent and ask God to give a righteous anger. I'm sure I'm selfish at times, I repent and ask God to help me love others as myself! Do you want me to make a whole list? I'm capable of doing that, of my known sins, for I confessed of my sins and a gave a sermon to my local congregation (with difficulty of coarse).

The bible teaches that if one willfully continues in their sins and don't repent they are going to hell. It's as plain as that.

I agree, thanks for correcting me, or making it more clear in what I meant.

For the record, one doesn't BELIEVE in evolution, one ACCEPTS it as a scientific theory (or not).
Btw, opening ONE can of worms at a time is enough, don't you think? ;)

Then please believe this and die (to yourself and carnal nature) so that one who is a homosexual can live!
Yes, With the Holy Spirit perhaps I can do this without it blowing up in my face. The homosexual who claims he knows Christ but teaches his lifestyle is ok needs to be corrected told his or her behavior is hurtful to themselves and others. Many Christians would want to avoid doing so for selfish reasons, afraid to confront!

To allow one to continue in any sin without saying a word is pure evil, do you tell your kids (if you have them) what not to do and still love them. Please get off your self-righteous kick.

All sin not repented will take all sinners to death... The only sin that leads not unto death is the repented sin and God forgives and DESTROYS...Burn AWAY FOREVER....

I just cannot understand that people think aome sin is ok... God says very clearly... 1 John 3"4... Sin is transgression of the law.... What law? Be Holy for I am Holy, or be perfect for I am perfect? Choose, sin is transgression of ANY LAW God put to us. And we KNOW he was manifest to TAKE AWAY OUR SIN.... and IN HIM IS NO SIN....

The saved people is IN HIM and HE IS IN THEM.... NO SIN ANYWHERE!!!!! I know I live with such a person... I know I read about a lot of them in the Bible.... I know God is Faithful: He that calleth you shall also do so..... If God calls you to His Light, he will make sure you are worthy of His light.... HE SHALL MAKE YOU SO and DO IT....

Here is the thing about OUR HOLY GOD... if he told you to be perfect, and CALLS you to be IN HIS SON, where there is no sin, then HE WILL MAKE YOU SO.... That is why HE CHOSE YOU... because HE WANTS YOU TO BE WITH HIM....

Here is the thing about God, He doe not even need your permission to do as HE PLEASES... God said... You did not choose Him He chose YOU.... to be what? A NEW CREATURE..... That new creature is HE CREATION OF A PERFECT MAN.... and He starts off with a sinner.... Amazing the salvation and transformation.... What a POWERFUL GOD HE IS...

By your definition, are you not continuing to "wilfully sin" until death?

We know all these things go to the grave. Why continue to then build upon what God has already destroyed?

But how can you "correct" a homosexual when you yourself admit to being a sinner?

Get the beam out of your own eye first.

To be guilty in one point is to be guilty of all. That means you might as well be a homosexual or a murderer to God. A sinner's a sinner.

It is not my desire to willfully sin, I try not to, but I am weak. I am a work in progress.

I don't believe you understand that we are called to judge with a righteous judgement. This is what Matt. 7 is all about. If I have a problem with sexual sin, I should not try to correct someone else. If God has removed or cleansed me from my sexual sin, then I would be just in pointing out the sexual sin of a brother or sister with gentleness and love.

I agree, if I am sinner in the thief department how can I tell sinner in the Adultery department to repent and stop adultery... It is a JOKE man.... What a hypocrate is a sinner that wants to ell another sinner to REPENT... ALL SIN LEADS TO DEATH.... ALL!!!! Only the ones you repent from will be DESTROYED.... Actually as Spiritoffire, says they are ALREADY DESTROYED....

Bookends I know you NEVER understood me YET, so I will try once more to show you something...

Let us say you only committed one sin... you steal from some person everyday... So you are a thief... Me, I steal, and I commit adultery and I kill every year one person... I have THREE sins to repent from and you have one. Now I stop stealing, and I repent from stealing and God makes me free from stealing. Am I repented now? Can I tell you to stop stealing? NO!!!! I still have TWO logs in my eye... But now I repent frrom murder, and then from adultery, and Jesus take it AWAY from me... And you still steal... Now I am CLEAN, there is NO MORE SIN IN ME... I am SAINT now... Do you think there is still even a splint in my eye if JESUS takes it away from me? NOPE, Jesus says he came to TAKE AWAY my sin and HE DID... How?

First he showed me the sin, then he gave me a heart that repent, and a will to stop... and that happened with ALL sin in my life.. I am now: No more sinning and: Jesus helped me and set me free...AND: I am now a Cleansed person. I am WASHED IN THE BLOOD... And as pure as God is pure... now God has to do something to ensure I do NOT STUMBLE AGAIN... That is why He implants HIS SPIRIT IN ME (God's SEED)... that SPIRIT (SEED) GOD uses to RECREATE my flesh to be a VESSEL FOR HIS SPIRIT... THAT SPIRIT CANNOT SIN.... Where is my spirit? IN CHRIST JESUS... IN THE HOLY FATHER.... AND HIS SPIRIT IS IN ME... The washed person can already share the DO NOT SIN, but the Holy Spirit that comes into the cleansed person is CHRIST HIMSELF.. why can't HE SAY.... BE PERFECT EVEN AS YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT... Can He and MAY He command you this? Rememer the SAME Spirit that was in Jesus is not FULLY IN ME.... Why can't that Spirit be perfect even in my flesh?

That is why a RIGHTEOUS HOLY MAN OF GOD, has EXACT same authority than Jesus had... Such a man may...These things command and teach.

The key word being righteous. We are only to judge that if one man died for all, then all were dead. Simple.

What is RIGHTEOUSNESS? It is the OPPOSITE of SIN.... If a person is righteous ALL his life, God says the DAY he sins, he shall surely DIE in his sin!!!!! And what is worse, the righteousness he hath done SHALL NOT BE REMEMBERED... But the opposite is ALSO TRUE.... A sinner can sin ALL His life, but the day HE REPENT, WITHOUT sinning AGAIN... WITHOUT COMMITTING INIQUITY, HE SHALL SURELY LIVE.... HE SHALL NOT DIE... NONE of his sin he committed shall be remembered. ... God shall judge EVERY ONE OF THE WAY HE LIVED... EVERY ONE!!!!

Righteousness is... TO DO GOD"S WILL..... BE HOLY, BE PERFECT, BE LIKE JESUS! Oh so many say it is hard and God's will is difficult, that God is not EQUAL, but He is... And He will judge us all one our ways....

May the Lord's will be done in my life, EXACTLY as He wnts it done. AMEN!
