Tonight, God showed me that one of the vital things that the church is lacking is the safety to be broken. We are supposed to be safe in church, safe to deal with our mess, safe to reveal our brokenness, and yet, we are not allowed to do so. We must be perfect and strong and whole or we can't serve, can't be accepted.

I thought I would never say this to someone, but, PLEASE quit going to whatever church it is you are going to.......please!

Whoever they are, in my opinion THEY ARE NOT OF GOD...........

Jesus came to heal our breaks.........especially our heart breaks...........THAT IS WHAT HE DOES.

Any group that calls themselves part of His Church and does not practice this IS NOT OF HIM.

Sadly, this is the norm for the churches in my town. Look good so you can be useful. Be favored by leadership so you can be above all other members of the church. And above all else, show no weakness our they'll move in for the kill and never let you forget it.

I see that many churches have a genuine misunderstanding of who Jesus is, and in doing so, lose the gospel message and all it love.

The church lacks fear
They fear Aspartame as it can supposedly turn to formaldehyde
They fear High fructose corn syrup but rely on others for their food instead of growing their own
They fear firearms in the hands of the innocent because the wicked flee even when no one pursues
They fear not getting their medication and being healthy trying to prolong their life yet what do they do for God with their prolonged life...Jesus said if they would turn he would heal them
They fear little Suzy might get pregnant so they take her to planned parenthood instead of teaching her abstinence until marriage.
They fear disciplining their children because the state may step in, only for the state to have to discipline those same children when they later grow up, yet God will still discipline the parents.
They fear being alone submitting to pleasures of the flesh more than they fear the repercussions of not upholding the covenant of ones wedding vows.
They fear being called judgmental for speaking truth and cater to and enable spoiled cry babies who demand their way even when their ways is against Gods ways, and forget we are told to judge those INSIDE the church and God will judge those outside.

Some churches fear the world and lack the fear of God, and they're afraid to talk about it
Some of those in the church... are afraid to hear the full word of God, yet somehow want acceptance from God
Whats the solution?
Realizing You are nothing
...Without God
Nothing

The church, the Body of Christ, isn't lacking much of anything. It has been my experience that it is what the Body has that has caused more problems than what it lacks. There are many members of the body that have caused the whole to cease to function properly. Why did we stop holding ourselves accountable to one another as members of the whole Body? Why have we allowed wrong to be called right and to allow it in the Lord's house among His members. When will we allow the Lord to come into our hearts and heal the whole Body? In my opinion, the church is lacking nothing it needs....it has many things it needs to get rid of.

the church needs pastors who preach the word of God without fear of offending someone or ticking off someone who gives a lot of money. so many people come to church wanting to hear what they desire, not the truth. we need pastors who preach the Bible, not their deonoinational doctrines.

I am so grateful for the man of God over me. Yes, I agree we lack the fear of God. I see it on this website all the time. The church needs the truth. Cutting off our flesh hurts, but we want saved.

Jeremiah 8:20
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Oh Lord show your people their sins that they might repent and turn to you. Return, Return, to the Lord your God.

We lack a balance of passion and reverence.
don't know what the exact formula is to say that there is a balance of passion and reverence, but in my church we exhibit both the passion for our love of Christ and reverence for God......

Who do they think He is? Are you speaking of "many" churches in your town, city whatever?

I'd really love to read through the various pages of documents you must have compiled to come up with these criticisms. It should be an interesting read.......

Boy Howdy! I ALMOST "liked" this one.......sigh........if only it had read........

SOME CHURCHES...........see there are Pastors/Preachers who do just as you say, and what you will usually find is that they are the small congregation of believers because there are those who like to have their ears tickled......

(wish there were a 1/2 like option...... :) )

Let me say that I understand that there are examples of church congregations all around that are not quite up to the standards of Biblical Teaching, however, to broad brush accuse THE ENTIRE BODY as being such is simply wrong.

It is not the duty of believers to TEAR DOWN the Body, it is the duty of believers to EDIFY/build up the Body. Maybe if folks spent as much time getting involved in "lifting up" the Body as they do in criticism of the Body, things would look a whole lot different? One thing I am always thankful for when I read the comments on CC, is I THANK GOD for my little country church. My goodness...........you folks would fall over in disbelief should you ever stumble through our door....Bunch of country folk worshiping God can be a startling sight I suppose.

No pageantry, no pretense, simply loving and praising God......

Sorry you guys don't have a home church like that........maybe you need to look around and try to find one...........
