Ungodly people do those things. Godly people don't because they have an internal law that tells them not to, i.e., the holy spirit.

But Paul says the opposite...
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Apparently Paul thought he needed the Law...
Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Being bought at a price is very similar to the binding arrangement of a Dowry being paid to the Father for a man's bride...yes?
As his bride are we not expected to do something in return?
Not necessarily pay back the price paid for us, but more so obedience and submission out of loving cooperation to our master.
To also lay down our life and share in Christs sufferings as a servant.
Hence the reason we are co-heirs with Christ to the kingdom, As a wife is an heir to the kingdom with her husband.
Would it be correct to say we have not been freed to go our own way as if we are our own master.
The grace we have been given is that we now serve a loving master, and have been freed from the bondage of being a slave to sin.

The law is out tutor. It teaches us that we are sinners. Are you a sinner or do you keep the WHOLE law of God?

Excellent question.
What happened to Isaiah in Isaiah 6 when he came into the presence of God? He naturally sought to please God. The true Christian maintains that they have God dwelling inside of them. They by their new nature feel guilty when they sin. They repent when the Lord shows them what they are doing is sinful. we, as Cheristians seek to do what is right unless we are in a back slidden state.
I will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit over following the Law. Normally the two work together but not always. Jesus worked on the Old Testament Sabbath Day.

Yes, I am a sinner. I am a weak man who still lives in the flesh but Jesus is my Parakletos as you have quoted.
