IMO yes, and I believe any doctrine of an immortal soul is the key and gate giving permission to demons to impersonate a deceased person. Mediums, spiritist, channeling, seance, Oije boards, etc. A person who believes in an immortal soul is more likely to accept a ghost in their presence.
Those who hold to a doctrine of immortal soul believe immediately after death the soul goes to another place, such as paradise, or heaven or hell separated from the body, yet capable of feeling pain if one goes to hell to be eternally tormented.
As for me, should I die before Yeshua returns, I will know nothing until the First Ressurection and receive my immortal body and soul and then be like Yeshua' s resurrected body. My new immortal body will never know corruption. My place of service will be on earth and not up in the clouds somewhere.
