It's so easy to lose focus. To forget who you are. To drift off to an unfamiliar place where you feel as if you are being held under. Your vision is blurry. Your brain is foggy. You're feeling around for a door handle, but only fumble. And you may not even notice that you are sinking until your head is already under water.

But there comes a day when you wise up and stop fumbling around for the handle because you realize you are never going to get out of it on your own. You finally turn loose of the thing and humble yourself before God, realizing you should have done it long ago. Once you finally surrender whatever it is, the fog thins, you remember who you are and your vision improves.

That final battle is usually the ugliest. I wonder why we ever let it get that far.

This reminds me of one of the "battle" songs I used when clawing my way out of that dark tunnel.
It was Blow Me One Last Kiss by Pink (the edited version).

White knuckles and sweaty palms from hanging on too tight
Clenched shut jaw, I've got another headache again tonight
Eyes on fire, eyes on fire, and they burn from all the tears
I've been crying, I've been crying, I've been dying over you
Tie a knot in the rope, tryin' to hold, tryin' to hold,
But there's nothing to grasp so I let go

I could just hear my Father saying, "Let goooo... I will catch you!"

Awesome! I was listening to that and others on my woman power play list. It's what I listen to when I need to drown out the the lies from X and other destructive people.

So I'm heading into the kitchen for a handful of crackers when I spy a drinking glass carefully placed upside down on the floor in the livingroom entryway. Ahhh... what is it this time? I carefully move closer and see that, sure enough, there is a spider trapped quite humanely inside the glass. The joys of living with compassionate teenage daughters... Or cruel ones, depending on how long they intended to leave the creature there.

Misty, have you listened to Shake it Out by Florence + the Machines? It was PERFECT for what I went though, looking for closure. I still listen to it sometimes when I'm working out.

"Shake It Out"

Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments

I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play

And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way

I'm always dragging that horse around

Our love is pastured, such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues drawn
But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa

That's on the playlist, too. Also, Pink's radio version of Perfect, Katy Perry's Part of Me and Roar, and Kelly Clarkson's Stronger. And of course some Adele. =)

Interesting dreams last night

First one: I was on a bus travelling through parts of the city that I have never heard of trying to get home, when Jim Carrey walks on, I ask him for a photo, but he gets HIS camera out takes a picture of me alone and tags me in it on Facebook. I was like okay????

Second one: I was in a library at school pretending to be a student for some reason. I go on CC and there is a thread about how revving car engines will get females positive attention. They couldn't understand why it wasn't working. I rolled my eyes.

Third one: At the same library I began to read a book about the early history of the Irish. I wanted to learn more about the celts. The book starts off with this one Irish clan called The Matthews but it was spelt more like Mat'huys or something like that. Reading that book began a dream about it.

Forth one: The story surrounds this one servant for the Matthews. After a while she wanted a husband but she was not allowed to leave. The man of the house agreed to bring a suiter to the house. He wished for her to practice meeting the suiter with the himself, but the servant refused because she had a hidden infatuation for him afraid that it would become obvious to his wife. So she refused and called his whole family a bunch of oafs and ran to the servant house. The suiter came to the servants house in the middle of the night, but he mistakes the servant for her sister and falls in love, he becomes distraught when he meets the actual servant. He is tired and weary from his travels so he requests a bed, the servant lies and says that her bedroom is in shambles, he will have to sleep in a guest bedroom and she will sleep on the couch. It is all a trick she plans to seduce him while he is sleeping. Then I woke.

Bones is funny. Here's why:

Agent Booth - "FBI!"

Unknown Guy - "U.S. Marshals!"

Booth "U.S. Marshals?"

Dr. Brennan - (With hands in the air) "Forensic Anthropologist! That's why no gun."

Bones might just become my new favorite Crime Show.

It really bugs me when I'm walking through the store and all the Christmas decorations are up and it's not even thanksgiving yet. I would much rather thanksgiving than Christmas. No offence to the people who love Christmas, I just like thanksgiving more. I don't mean to be a Scrooge, but I usually don't celebrate Christmas. However, I don't put down the ones who do... Maybe I'm not a total Scrooge... :p

I'm dying to know if I'm going to go to a free concert in April featuring multiple artists that I love (every single one of them that are going to be there I'm a HUGE fan of). My parents aren't saying yes or no....but this is HUGE!!!

I have two cats, Marty (orange tabby), and Inkblot, or Inky (black longhair). In the summer, Inky got these weird bumps on her back, just above her tail. No hair loss or anything, just bumps. I ruled out fleas. Her food is quite expensive - venison & salmon, grain-free....so I ruled out any of the more common allergies. I didn't want a huge vet bill, and it didn't seem to be bothering her that much, but decided to take her in if her condition persisted.

I read that cats could be allergic to the plastic in their dishes. They had been cheap plastic food dishes that I got at the pet store. I switched their food and water dishes out for ceramic bowls I purchased at a thrift store. I still noticed the bumps when I pet her, but I noticed that she was biting the area less and less. It took several weeks, but I noticed a couple of days ago that the bumps were all gone!

My poor kitty needs some teeth extracted. She has a dental cleaning and xrays in December, but most likely they will have to pull some at the same time. I hope its nothing more serious than that :S

Aww thanks grace

Been watching way too much tv, it's time to stop it for a little bit, possibly even terminate my Netflix account so there's no more temptation there. It's time to catch up on my reading, since I don't have anyone to text either. Reading my bible would be much more fulfilling

Van Horn is 100 miles east of my house in Horizon City. The inclement weather has clearly made for hazardous conditions, as there have been two major accidents on eastbound 10 involving semi-trucks in that stretch. I am at a travel plaza in Van Horn, recovering from having made that stretch...in four hours. >_<

This was supposed to be the first hour of a seven hour run. *sighs*

Oh noooo... that's a terrible start! Hope the rest is smooth and uneventful. At least you weren't IN the wrecks... Be careful, you.
