Im just curious,
Apart from myself and Meridoc, has anyone traveled to meet someone else off here? Or are planning to? Or maybe you met someone online somewhere else, and you met. What was it like?
 
I met my husband online. Not on CC, but in a chatroom in the msn chatroom days.

We have been married nearly 5 years, in fact next friday is our 5th wedding anniversary!
 
This is either along with or beside the point. Not sure.

I've been a part of a particular message board for...five years no, and we have get-togethers all the time. The members of that board are from all over the world. Mostly in England and America, but we have people from all over. The fun thing about it is that everyone has networked in such a way that no matter where one of us travels, we have a friend nearby.
Some members have gone backpacking across Europe or the U.S. and stayed mostly on the couches of fellow board members. It's just a really cool community with a very unique atmosphere that's lent to lots of real relationships that transfer from a screen to face-to-face encounters often.
Something like fourteen or fifteen lasting relationships (sub marriages) have spawned from that particular board.

I would travel most anywhere to meet someone on here. I love travel, and dig meeting CC peeps!

I agree with you, I like to travel and add to that the adventure of meeting up with someone from an online community and it would be really exciting, I'd gladly travel to anywhere, it'd be a lot of fun.
 
I am going to be meeting Miss Giggles in January and we are road trippin down the West Coast (she is coming to Canada, we are then going down the coast, Washington-Oregon-California-make a stop in Nevada- and back to Canada!) She is a fantastic person, should be fun!

I've never met anyone off of CC, but I've met three friends from a different site in person. It was fun.
 
I have met a few people from on here in person.

One person, we met in the middle of where we lived so the traveling would be equel and made a weeking out of it. It was great fun!

And the other three were a couple that met through this site and got married this past January. I traveled to their wedding. :) and met her sister there as well (whom I had gotten to know on this site as well)

Also making plans to meet up with more people! :)
 
I have met 2 peeps back in the msn chatroom days when I was a mod in a christian chatroom. It was pretty cool! I still keep in touch with them.
Umm, as for CC, no, I have not met anyone....living over the other side of the globe to most makes that a bit hard, but, if any of you are planning a trip to NZ's South Island and u wanna catch up over coffee, let me know! ;-)

That only leaves you with your own country! How boring is that? No offense..

Whereabouts in the south island do you live Joy? Im from Christchurch but I study in Dunedin so Im back and forward between them two.
