I really don't want to spend that much on my wedding. I don't want my future fiance to spend more than a couple hundred on an engagement ring, and I don't want to spend more than $200 on a dress. I'd rather spend that extra money on a down payment for a house, or to get a nice cabin for a honeymoon in the mountains. It just blows my mind how much money is spent on weddings/receptions. I'm not spending $25,000 for a few hours of my life.

I don't mean to offend anyone on here who may have had a wedding for a lot, I just personally couldn't do it.

OK, so what is egg nog? Is it actually made out of eggs? What is this nog they speak of? I have never tried it cus it sounds gross!

I built myself a tall tower so no one could get to me- so I couldn't get to myself. There's one window at the top, but I didn't include a door at the bottom. Security was of the utmost importance. I had to protect myself at any cost. I built this tower on childhood lies and childish hurts. But when I look around now… this tower doesn't protect. It constricts. It cuts. It contains wounds so deep even I can't find them.


I guess you can call me Rapunzel.


If I want out I have to jump. The one thing I never allowed myself were wings. Wings provided hope. Wings provided promises whispered on the wind. Wings meant I trusted myself, but I never truly have. So if I jump it will be a free fall. And that's okay. I've mended many broken bones, broken spirits, broken hearts.


So here I go, eyes wide open, terrified of more than I'd like to admit.

Arwen, egg nog is some sort of milk egg combo, usually with nutmeg. I think it's gross. It might be because milk grosses me out.

I desperately wanna make a Scarface joke. I dunno why but I can imagine you saying in a really poorly done Cuban accent saying: "Say Hello to my little friend"

All this is lost of course,if in Canada they have never heard of the movie. In which case I shall hang my head in shame & slowly back away from your thread.

I personally, have never seen the movie, and know the phrase, but yeah Canadians are well acquainted with the movie :)

Glad I'm not the only one. Egg and milk combination eww. I have a hard time watching people drink milk in a glass, because I can't stand it. If it's in a carton and I can't see it, then it doesn't bother me. I also hate those milk mustache commercials. That is gross.

I'm an odd duck.

I agree with you. I had a nice wedding at a reasonable cost. We paid for everything ourselves. I don't believe anyone's parents should be obligated to pay for two adults to get married. I've seen this happen time and time again. My own brother helped pay for my Nephews giant wedding, when they already have two children. It was a nice day. But that's it, it's a day. It was a lot of stress and cash for everyone involved. I am glad they are married now, but it could have been done with out spending all that money.

The area I live in has worse weather than Alaska, on average. I dunno about Canada. I'd prolly LIKE living in Canada, except it's full of Canadians...

But I was born and mostly raised in snowy, ridiculously cold places... I don't know any better.

Besides, I happen to like it here. So...
