And here is another church practice that Paul implies came from God.

So, when anyone tells me that following Paul is following God, and they allow their women to speak before they get home and if their women's heads are uncovered, I know I can ignore them. And I have yet to meet one I can't ignore.
Just admit that you pick and choose. If you lie to yourself, how can we have an honest dialogue?

to be perfectly honest, your track record doesnt mean anything if you deny the gospel and call it foolish. which is exactly what you did when you said "the bear falling out of his chair laughing his head off at the foolishness that's about to take place"
so you said the people who will be behind the gospel will be foolish.. which is implying the gospel is foolish, in a indirect way.
you seem to be of the pack that has conformed to the patterns of the world. and not sticking to the scripture.

Guys like you are going to be silent for a 1,000 years or so, when Paul greets you on the new earth and soundly slaps you for being so silly in your interpretation to what and why he was saying, what he did in 1 Cor 14 and 1 Tim 2.

The foolishness of this thread has nothing to do with the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel itself isn't even the subject here.
You seem to have a better knack of judging people than you do rightly handling the truth. Why did you start this thread, anyway?
Who is the 'I' in this verse? It is Paul. Paul does not allow women to teach. I do not believe women should be heads of a church (i.e. senior pastor), but I believe that God will use women in the realms of teaching and preaching and divine words of prophecy. As you will recall, in the Old Testament, there was a woman judge. In the lineage of Christ, God saw fit to include the names of three women. The stance on this is a way for men to keep women under control, especially when they are convicted by something a woman teaches or preaches.
Show me where Jesus or God said that women cannot teach in church. Paul does not allow it, but he doesn't say that God does not allow it. Yes, he refers to Adam and Eve and the order of creation. However, we must be aware that there are certain things, such as his desire to have all remain single, that were not commands from God, but Paul's personal interpretation and his response to cultural things occurring at the time.
1 Corinthians 14 is referring to the order of service. If someone constantly interrupts their husband to ask, "What does this mean?" or "Why did he say that?", then is the service orderly? Nope. So here, Paul is telling everyone (though he specifically names women) to wait until they leave church to clarify and discuss what is being said. You must read all of 1 Corinthians 14 to see this, as he is giving instructions to all about how the gifts of the spirit in regards to tongues and prophesy are to be handled, how the Spirit won't contradict the word of God, and how it isn't chaotic. Then, he adds that women should speak in church, but he is referring to interrupting what is going on for clarifications sake...or to disagree with the speaker, as we know this happens often from the congregation when someone doesn't like what's said.
If you are in a church and a woman preaches/teaches and you are so adverse to it, then leave. You are not forced to sit and listen to her.

Why is this not in any other of Paul's epistles? Careful sir, it may mean you have to actually understand the culture of the times and especially what pagan influences had invaded the churches at Corinth & Ephesus...
My dear brothers, Long before Saul, became Paul, that guy named Jesus had several women disciples, his own mother was in the upper room, so spare us all, the need to protect your male ego and dominance in the church.
Maybe if so many men in the late 70's, through the 80's and 90's had not let the Wife and Mother became the spiritual leader, we would not have seen God turn to who he could to become PASTORS! Men gave up being spiritual leaders in their homes 40 years ago and stopped becoming pastors and teachers of the word.
There is not gender discrimination in the word of God! The only discrimination in the word of God is silly interpretations of man, saying silly things like, oh gee a woman cannot be a pastor.
