I don't really understand all the expressed angst over the resurrection of old threads. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of people who revive the threads don't think to themselves "wow, I can't wait to jump in on this conversation that's been dead for 3 years!" Also, it's very likely that they didn't just sift through the pages until they found a good thread. They might have found it by searching for a topic, OR it could have popped up in the "Related threads" area on the bottom of another thread they were reading.

Can't we just give them the benefit of the doubt, assume they just didn't realize it was an old thread, and either gently inform them or ignore it? They might be new to forums and not understand how they work. I know I was guilty of doing the same thing for the first few weeks I was here because CC is actually the very first online forum I've ever joined.

I get that it's annoying to see old threads pop up when we'd much rather have new conversations, but I wonder sometimes if the impatience and frustration (albeit in jest.. sometimes) displayed in response to them might discourage new members from engaging in fruitful fellowship with us.

*shrugs* I don't mean to sound condemning or condescending. It's just something that's been on my mind for a while now. I'm guilty of feeling the same irritation, but I'm trying my best to keep it to myself.

Loveneverfails, that is very true. I've found that the ones who do it consistently though, probably know what they're doing and just want to stir things up since they go back 100+ pages to raise up controversial threads. Not just one or two, but many. Good insight though, and I will be keeping that in mind. :)

Unrelated side note: Popcorn and M&Ms are tasty together.

Nope, not in B.C or Saskatchewan. I'm in Manitoba. 2 hours north of the North Dakota border.
Yeah, arwenbaggins, I was going to say you were a wee bit north of where I was in 2006, I was real close to the coldest weather site in the USA a lot of times, International Falls, MN .

But, DOH! You changed all that when you had to go and say North Dakota . :D

That state's below Manitoba. OK already !

I didn't realize it , but I was only about 50 miles or so from Ontario then. I sure know my geography well, I thought ontario was only covering New York and Michigan and vermont and new hampshire borders :D

But, 40F below ! Yikes ! That's 10 degrees colder than the terribly cold temperature I was in in Minnesota back then.

We are at what will probably be the coldest day all this 2013 in Western Washington, by the way, and, sorry that I have to report that Colorabi Springs is 10F right now, a whole 15 degrees colder than here.

So, even on what will be around our coldest day of the year in WA state, Colorado still puts us to shame. :(

I'm not giving up though I'lll have y'all know ; oncefell, mizcris, and, all you other Coloradoites, I'm praying tonight for ice cold, wind chill weary weather. So, WATCH OUT, for tomorrow is going to be ZERO degrees. :D (not really, it's supposed to warm up tomorrow :( )

Speaking of cold weather, the crazy thing is that right now in southcentral Alaska (I'm in Anchorage) we've got unusually warm temperatures going on right now, and there are places much farther south that are 40, 50, even a whopping 70 degrees colder! I don't understand -.- I'm accustomed to it hovering around zero degrees F around this time of year, give or take 10 degrees.. but the past few days we've had weather in the mid 30's, which is actually a problem because everything melts during the day then refreezes at night creating massive amounts of ice. I'm so confused I don't know what to do. I've traded in the parka for a t-shirt and it's throwing off my winter wardrobe choices :p

Whoever invented the Dream-sicle was a genius.

I hope they have pianos in heaven. That's gotta be in my top favorite instruments.

I hope there's amusement parks there too.......

Farenheit FOR THE WIN!!!! WOO! :D (Hershey Park, Hershey, PA)

disappointed. the Huawei vision is the ONLY 3D UI made as of yet. but doesn't have my countries 3g. America is mostly QUALCOMM for those that didn't know.

it's actually surprising 3D UI's haven't picked up in marketing.

I just had to mention before I head off to work this morning that anything with M&M's & Popcorn is a win/win food product in my opinion, and anyone who disagrees with me needs to repent.

Other than that,I really have nothing more to add.

Have a blessed day. (even those of you who scorn @ the idea of M&M's and Popcorn. The Jesus in me is tolerating you)
laffin' my buns off :D

Completely unrealistic ideas are the ones that catch hold of my imagination the most; I can dwell on them for months, making plans, living it out inside my head, burning time and energy on it. And for a while, it seems possible.

But at some point, my brain generally realizes that I've been obsessing, and it throws a wrench into my gears- Hello, Reality.

I feel so silly. I feel like a little kid who's just been told that Santa Claus isn't real, that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist, that animals can't actually talk...

Pulling my head out of the clouds is always a slap in the face. When am I going to learn that some things in life are just not for me? Just not part of my set of choices? If God has provided me with options A, B, C, or D....why do I always try to insist on having option E (all of the above, or other) instead?

My.kids.dentist looks like Adam Levine. I mean really looks like him, they could be twins. I try not to.stare at him. My friend takes.her kids.to the same dentist. One time she asked if my kids see Dr. Hottie, I almost spit my tea out from laughing.

Dont forget this one that was destroyed with explosives. It uh... didn't end well.

Quote from the newsreel:
"Our cameras stopped rolling immediately after the blast. The humor of the entire situation suddenly gave way to a run for survival as huge chunks of whale blubber fell everywhere.

Dear Lord,

I've been avoiding you.
Screening your calls.
Not answering the door.
Averting my eyes and crossing to the other side of the street.

I'm sorry.
I'll stop.

LOL when it comes to me, I don't care how good looking dentists are, I don't like them. :p I'd rather stay thousands of miles away from the dentist. :p

Thank the Lord thus far I've only ever had a small cavity or the surface of my back tooth. That was about 10 years ago
