Do you really think the original sin that condemned mankind and earth was just over eating an apple? I know it would have been disobedience but simple disobedience has never been dealt with this harshly. Satan tempted Eve with far more than a piece of fruit.
First off, the
Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was Satan, not a fruit tree.
The Tree of Life is Christ, also, not a fruit tree.
Revelation 2:7 NKJV
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." '
Revelation 22:14 NKJV
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Look back at Gen 2:
9 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Notice it doesn't say the Lord God made the tree of life and knowledge of good and evil, just that they were also in the midst of the garden. This implies that they were there already.
Cain was from Satan's seed, not Adam's. I know most people have never been taught this and it isn't specifically taught in the Bible but you can connect the dots and they are very compelling dots.
1. Adam and Eve saw that they were naked.
2. Gen 3:15:
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."
Enmity means separation. So God put separation between Satan's seed and Eve's Seed. Now why do you suppose God did that if sex wasn't involved?
3. Cain and Abel were twins thus the need for enmity or separation. This part will be really hard for some to accept but read it closely:
1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, "I have acquired a man from the Lord."
2 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Notice
Adam "knew his wife ONCE, not twice!!!" Adam "knew" his wife and bore Cain then bore Abel. It doesn't say any time lapsed, nor does it say Adam "knew" his wife a second time. Eve did not know Cain was Satan's son as evidenced that she thought Cain was from the Lord.
4. Here is the clincher.
Cain is NOT listed in Adam's genealogy!! Cain has his own genealogy which can be found at Gen 4:17-24. Genesis 5 contains Adam's genealogy with Seth listed as the first heir (because Abel was dead).
5. Notice also that God did not respect Cain's offering. Up to this point there was no discussion of what type of offering God wanted, fruit or meat. Heb 11 teaches us this:
4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
1 John 3 teaches us this:
...not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
What did Cain do prior to murdering Abel that was evil? We aren't told except for offering a sacrifice that wasn't pleasing to the Lord. This is the first recorded sacrifice and it started with the first generation from Adam and Eve.
Turn now to John 8:
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Satan and his fallen angels perverted creation. The Naphtali were a mixed race of giants from Satan's line. Thus God had to destroy earth. Satan tried so hard to corrupt the bloodlines from which Jesus was to come. He failed but this is why the genealogy of Christ is stressed. Gen 6:4.
6. Worshiping Satan or false religion is called Idolatry. Idolatry (Satan worship) has always been a synonym to sexually immorality or adultery throughout the Bible. Ever wonder why?
Rev 17:
5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Mat 24:
19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
Rev 14:
4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.
God is very displeased with anyone who doesn't worship Him for to worship anything other than God is to worship Satan. The above verses make clear that Harlotry and Satan worship is the same thing. If you understand that Satan seduced Eve, it is easy to see why God cursed His own creation and why the punishment was so severe then as it will be to those who worship the False Christ in the very near future.
