Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

How is it that the Son of man made the statement above while he was still on this earth?

I have read that verse many times and never understood it, but today the Lord showed me what it means. This verse has nothing to do with the bodily ascension of Jesus. There are 2 heavens in the bible, one is where God the father resides, the other is the kingdom of heaven which is the kingdom that came when Jesus came to earth.

Mat_4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Mat_12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Mar_9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

John 3:13 is telling us that no man can work his way to heaven (ascend up), accept for Jesus, who was able to work his way to heaven (fulfilled the law), because he came down from heaven (He is God in the flesh). The Son of man said this while he was living on the earth in the kingdom of God that he brought to earth.

This is a very interesting viewpoint you have shared brother regarding John 3:13.

Keep in mind though brother that at the last part of John 3:13 where Jesus stated that "even the Son of man which is in heaven." He was teaching About His omnipresence. Therefore this has to be referring to the third heaven because Jesus did not say the kingdom of heaven, he just said heaven.

Also keep in mind that while Jesus walked this earth, he was still both God and Man.

I can appreciate your comments ChosenbyHim. What do you think about the other caveat in that verse - Jesus said no man has ascended accept for himself... Jesus had not ascended yet.

Do you believe in the pre-existence of Christ?

Oh yes, without a doubt. He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. He was Melchisedec also.

I think you're right! The number eight represents new beginnings.

Joh 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

The verse affirms His pre-existence. He was in heaven with the Father before His incarnation (see John 1:1-2).

And no man hath ascended up to heaven: A reference to His future ascension into Heaven after His resurrection

but he that came down from heaven: Referring to His incarnation

even the Son of man which is in heaven: In spirit, Christ during His incarnation, stood before the Throne of God in Heaven, even as Elijah did, or put it another way, although His feet were upon the earth, His mind was in Heaven, before the Throne of God. 1kings 17v1

Also note, during His incarnation Christ was NOT omnipresent! Phil 2v5-11

This means no one is in heaven not Elijah nor Enoch

yet many want to go to heaven when God has not promise that for man

No doubt he was in heaven with the father starfield. I don't see how this verse affirms this though, could you elaborate on this?

Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Jesus was not melchisedec made like unto the

Hebrews 7

King James Version (KJV)

1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
