My position within the company is somewhat of a mystery...

While no one in the company really knows just exactly what I actually do for the company, they all sincerely believe that it is somehow vitally important to the continued success and survival of the company.

I come and go - talk to people - smile a lot - laugh a lot - take long lunches... ... ... ...

Oh - and, I get paid a lot for doing not-a-lot...

;)

I might as well ... how many other companies already have people like this...???

Can I be the owner of the company?

:)
Oh you are that guy... Yes I think most companies have this position! CEO I believe...

I'm declining my position as PR, I don't believe it to be suitable. I don't think I would like it. I don't think I could find a job within a corporation in which I am just a number, just a position. It is not meaningful work. I will be looking for employment elsewhere. Thank you for your time :)

In other words, you found a better offer.

Well that's unfortunate.....we were about to extend the courtesy of unlimited usage of the remote penthouse in Brooklyn so you may write witty anecdotes undisturbed...
Thank you for your consideration.

Meaning what, exactly?

Since when are you afraid to simply say what you mean? You are tarnishing your reputation - you know that, don't you...??? ;) :p

:)
Meaning you're like our Creed. I just posted an example of who Creed is. The guy on the right.

Well, after 11 posts on CC we might not know you that well. We're happy you're here though!
Actually GaryA is not a new member. He just had a name change. Before he was GRA.

What? And how do you know this? GRA left without saying "Good-Bye."

Gary, are you GRA?
If you are, you need to say "Good-Bye" before you come back to say, "Hello."
:p

It's unfortunate that you've chosen to leave our company. Due to your short time with us, we are unable to offer you a severance package. I hope you enjoy your new position.

However, you've violated your contract, and I suggest you lawyer up.

We're suing you.

Praus, dear brother, you're not "dumb." If there are 5 people in CA with a godly brain, you are among them.

Okay, GRA, your gig is up. You came back to these VERY COOL forums because you got lonely around your birthday and you missed us. :)

I didn't sign a contract! I'm fighting this. I will be going to the newspapers about this!! They will LOVE to hear how a large corporation is suing an former employee due to them resigning. Just another example of how 'the man' is stepping all over the little guy. Good luck with your reputation!

As long as I don't have to deal with the customers

By the way; Do we have a copy machine? If so:
If any of you complain that the machine "isn't working", and I find out you put in A4 paper and tried to print on A3, or "letter" or other strange things, I will whack you on the top of the head with the manual and then roll you in the contents of the waste toner container.

A verbal contract dear is just as binding, and it's not my fault that you didn't read the small print of the conduct agreement. Go to the papers, that's fine. But this is an American company. We're not fair and kind like Canada.

It's really scary that I think this way... maybe I should go into law and not medical.

Or... medical law!!

You could take a err... pacemaker from a baby.

That didn't sound nearly as horrible in my head.

I crunched some numbers again, and it looks like we have some money left in the budget for us to get a room full of puppies for "Stress Breaks".

You should look into Canadian/ American labor laws. For work done over the border, your 'labor laws' may not have any barring to apply for employees from other countries working in America. However I am not working in America, I am on Canadian soil doing PR work for an American company (doesn't sound right? Lol). Is CC an American company? Threats of a country suing a citizen of another country will get my government to protect me. Good luck with your new image.

Aww! Yay! Can we get some Sharpeis? They're so cute when they're puppies. :)
