Did you know the atheist are putting up their own billboard
announcing CHRIST should be taken out of Christmas.

That made me think. What would we have if Christ is taken
out of Christmas. We would have " MAS" Means nothing.
Would "MAS" still be a Holiday? Would we say, Merry "mas,"
or Happy " mas." Just doesn't have the same ring to it does
it?

Oh I know the merchants will probably be decorating for the
Holiday 'mas' . After all there is Santa to celebrate. Hasn't
Santa pretty much become like a God anyway ?

Only Christians make Christ the center of this time of the year.
I wonder what the secular world would do if SANTA was removed
from Christmas. That would be interesting.

We know Christ will always be with us forever, and the atheist
will cease to exist. They aren't hurting anyone but themselves.

CHRISTmas Blessings to all ~ May Gods Word stand true and
strong as we proclaim the time of our Lord Jesus' birth and
the reason for the season ~ Amen ~

There are a few factors behind this... The main factor, is they see Christians proclaim this scandalous gospel

Then the Christian majority goes and lives in a the exact opposite way that they preach...

Or the fact it has a stigma that the uneducated cling to Christ and the educated trust in evolution...

Or the misconception of why people are damned to hell...

To be honest some fault falls on us Christians... We fail to explain the in's and out's of Christianity to people in real life... We just sit and moan whenever the media portraits us wrong... And let that portrayal get worse when cults get involved... (Using the word we as in majority and not whole)

I just had a word association thought myself CHRISTmas, in Spanish mas, means more, so we need a sign that says,"masCHRIST", what do you all think.

1. A billboard saying "Who Needs Christ During Christmas?" is far different from saying "We should take the word Christ out of Christmas". Atheist only attack religious structures or promotion Constitutional grounds (for instance, they will fight to have a Nativity scene taken out of the yard of City Hall but they will be perfectly fine if a Nativity scene is on private property (separation of church and State). It is simply stating (as Christmas time atheists always mean) that you don't need to be Christian or promote Christian ideology to celebrate Christmas.
2. Christmas was originally a Pagan holiday, most notably from the Romans' Saturnalia, and was still considered a pagan holiday by some Christian denominations until about 1850.
3. Atheists seem to always attack Christians because Christianity is the largest religion in the world and is adopted by practically every modern, Western world country (we do not attack those who still believe in Zeus because that would be confronting with .00001% of the population (random percentage), no result from that). Christianity and Islam are the main targets of atheism because they are the largest targets.

Hey, thanks for the explanation of MAS ~ I tried to find a meaning for
it and couldn't. You just took care of a mystery for me. God bless you.
And yes, More = MAS would be great ~

Goodness............once again the lack of understanding abounds........

3) Please give me a specific instance/example of where atheists have attacked Islam........a link to a Newspaper article, a televised statement that Islam is false religion, or any such.....

4) Atheists attack Christianity because in the "politically correct" socialist liberal world we live in, Christianity is the enemy of those kinds............If just half of what is said about Christians or Christianity were said about Muslims or Islam, the mainstream media, political powers would be screaming against any who dared to insult Muslims/Islam.

5) Your opening assertion is asinine.............

(food for thought)

[h=3]Etymology[/h]"Christmas" is a compound word originating in the term "Christ's Mass". It is derived from the Middle English Cristemasse, which is from Old English Crīstesmæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038[SUP][7][/SUP] followed by the word Cristes-messe in 1131.[SUP][40][/SUP] Crīst (genitive Crīstes) is from Greek Khrīstos (Χριστός), a translation of Hebrew Māšîaḥ (מָשִׁיחַ), "Messiah", meaning "annointed";[SUP][41][/SUP][SUP][42][/SUP] and mæsse is from Latin missa, the celebration of the Eucharist. The form "Christenmas" was also historically used, but is now considered archaic and dialectal;[SUP][43][/SUP] it derives from Middle English Cristenmasse, literally "Christian mass".[SUP][44][/SUP] "Xmas" is an abbreviation of Christmas found particularly in print, based on the initial letter chi (Χ) in Greek Khrīstos (Χριστός), "Christ", though numerous style guides discourage its use;[SUP][45][/SUP] it has precedent in Middle English Χρ̄es masse (where "Χρ̄" is an abbreviation for Χριστός).[SUP][44][/SUP]

In Colonial America, the Puritans of New England shared radical Protestant disapproval of Christmas. Celebration was outlawed in Boston from 1659 to 1681. The ban by the Pilgrims was revoked in 1681 by English governor Sir Edmund Andros, however it was not until the mid-19th century that celebrating Christmas became fashionable in the Boston region.[SUP][38][/SUP]
At the same time, Christian residents of Virginia and New York observed the holiday freely. Pennsylvania German Settlers, pre-eminently the Moravian settlers of Bethlehem, Nazareth and Lititz in Pennsylvania and the Wachovia Settlements in North Carolina, were enthusiastic celebrators of Christmas. The Moravians in Bethlehem had the first Christmas trees in America as well as the first Nativity Scenes.[SUP][74][/SUP] Christmas fell out of favor in the United States after the American Revolution, when it was considered an English custom.[SUP][75][/SUP] George Washington attacked Hessian (German) mercenaries on the day after Christmas during the Battle of Trenton on December 26, 1776, Christmas being much more popular in Germany than in America at this time.

In 1822, Clement Clarke Moore wrote the poem A Visit From St. Nicholas (popularly known by its first line: Twas the Night Before Christmas).[SUP][88][/SUP] The poem helped popularize the tradition of exchanging gifts, and seasonal Christmas shopping began to assume economic importance.[SUP][89][/SUP] This also started the cultural conflict of the holiday's spiritualism and its commercialism that some see as corrupting the holiday. In her 1850 book The First Christmas in New England, Harriet Beecher Stowe includes a character who complains that the true meaning of Christmas was lost in a shopping spree.[SUP][90][/SUP]
While the celebration of Christmas was not yet customary in some regions in the U.S., Henry Wadsworth Longfellow detected "a transition state about Christmas here in New England" in 1856. "The old puritan feeling prevents it from being a cheerful, hearty holiday; though every year makes it more so."[SUP][91][/SUP] In Reading, Pennsylvania, a newspaper remarked in 1861, "Even our presbyterian friends who have hitherto steadfastly ignored Christmas—threw open their church doors and assembled in force to celebrate the anniversary of the Savior's birth."[SUP][91][/SUP]
The First Congregational Church of Rockford, Illinois, "although of genuine Puritan stock", was 'preparing for a grand Christmas jubilee', a news correspondent reported in 1864.[SUP][91][/SUP] By 1860, fourteen states including several from New England had adopted Christmas as a legal holiday.[SUP][92][/SUP] In 1870, Christmas was formally declared a United States Federal holiday, signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant.[SUP][92][/SUP] Subsequently, in 1875, Louis Prang introduced the Christmas card to Americans. He has been called the "father of the American Christmas card".[SUP][93][/SUP]

This tells me they believe ~ They just don't know how to believe ~
It is IMO, a spiritual warfare for their souls. Maybe we should pray
for them. They may not like it, but I am a firm believer God hears
every prayer we put before Him when we pray for the unsaved.

5) Your opening assertion is asinine.............
1. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...." - First Amendment.
2. Public announcements *connected to the United States government*. Celebrating just Christmas at public declarations on private property or private schools is perfectly fine, but it cannot be solely celebrated in public, government owned land. Some atheists don't deny Jesus' existence (like me) but just deny his divinity.
3. Atheists regularly attack Islam (after Christianity) - here's a new's article of atheists putting up billboards calling Judaism and Islam false religions in the New Jersey/New York area
American Atheists Billboards In Brooklyn, Paterson Target Jewish, Muslim Communities, look up the keywords "Sam Harris Islam" on YouTube, there will be a couple videos or so that should be easy to find, Richard Dawkins, in his documentary, has gone out and attacked the educational system taught by Islamic schools and its militancy ("The God Delusion", I believe, free on YoutTube). I personally don't attack it as vehemently but rather defend it in some cases.
4. Christianity is the world's largest religion and more importantly the dominating religion in the first-world, how could it then be the enemy of the world and be seriously threatened in matters of legal issues and mainstream power by small "socialist" factions? Atheists attack all religions (some more than others depending on geographical location and size of faction), not because it is "politically correct" to spare one or the other. Christianity is the largest religion in the first-world and so is the biggest target. Islam, being second (perhaps not for size as this could contest with Judaism but with modern day relevance).
6. I do not know how my opening assertion is asinine. It seems pretty okay with me.
