We have all chatted a lot about "friendzones" the past few days but I do have a question, can we avoid being put in the friendzone? How would we do that?

More specifically there is a guy I like, a nice, clever, funny, handsome christian guy! :) So how do I avoid the dreaded friendzone?

This trend is getting really annoying. I'd suggest getting advice from your pastor or his wife or even married people. You won't really get any solid answers here.

Or get praying

MAKE A MOVE. That's how you avoid getting friendzoned. But this is from my perspective, since I don't think it matters who makes the first move. If you want him to do it, then give him a hint that you like him. Touch his hand, hug him a lot, etc.

Still, I say try the 'direct approach' and just make a move or tell him how you feel.

If you find it annoying I am not certain why you replied, however I am grateful for your suggestion.

Song 2:17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.

I am fairly certain you are right but that's downright SCARY! The flirting thing happens totally without my control lol, I was surprised when I caught myself doing it!

I agree with you; I know it's scary. But if you hold back then you most likely will be friendzoned (not to be a downer). I guess you have to go with what you'd hate more: being friendzoned or taking a risk by telling him.

Telling him how you feel is scary, I understand. But the friendzone isn't fun either...

All I can say is be yourself and that it is better to let him know, rather than a few years later him saying why didn't you tell me this before I got engaged.

Ok well how long do I have pre-friendzone? Bearing in mind I do only see him after 1 service a week. A rough guesstimate would be grand!

Be challenging towards him but not to the point that it's annoying. Be complimentary but not to the point that it's no surprise when you do it. Be flirty but not so much that you can't have a real conversation when it's needed.

I should shoot him? Or a deer?
The roe deer is the the metaphor for the beloved, so, you should metaphorically shoot him!

Song 2:9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.

Song 8:13-14 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear [it]. ¶ Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.

I wouldn't think there's a specific answer for how much time you have, but I would say make a move ASAP. Just in case...

See I am slightly worried that as I haven't't spent a lot of time with him that if I say something now it is going to make me look like a crazy person!

Oh Leelee,
Don't you know we cannot force someone to love us.
You can only stalk them until they give in.

I'm afraid I won't make it any easier on you... don't try to avoid it.
