The believer is an ambassador for Christ, who represent the death, burial and resurrection of our ascended Lord, who was raised for our justification. The message of the ambassador involves a word and ministry of reconciliation through the cross because all sin was paid for and judged by the Son, the mediator between God and man. That is the ambassador's message and gospel. Be reconciled to God the Father through the Son. The ambassador is not occupied with establishing a kingdom but only the hope of one to come and the inheritance of the believer. There is no reigning theocratic kingdom ruling from heaven on the earth having dominion over nations through the church. It is not happening and we do not lift up a kingdom but we lift up the Son of man on the cross to get sinners to gaze upon him that all men might be drawn to it. We do not draw anyone to a kingdom but we draw them to the cross through the help of the Holy Spirit so that they can receive grace and be hid in Christ and have the Holy Spirit indwell them.

The Holy Spirit in man reveals Jesus Christ and him crucified and when any man believes he is translated from the power of darkness (and the bondage associated with it) into the kingdom of God's dear Son (light, love and liberty). This verse in Col 1:13 and others that have been mentioned do not point to a tangible kingdom that is confirmed with signs that can be looked upon, or a designated throne or one who sits on that throne ruling over the nations that can be observed with reverence and awe. The kingdom of God's dear Son that believers have been translated into is within them through the Holy Spirit and has dominion over the power of darkness that held them in bondage through unbelief. The kingdom of the Son that is among them is represented not by the omniscience of God but according to the assembly of those who have the kingdom within. The principle is that two believers gathered together in the name of Christ are better than one, a three fold cord can not be easily broken, five with chase a hundred and a hundred with send ten thousand of the enemy to flight.
So you are expecting a tangible kingdom with signs? But Jesus said the kingdom does not come with observation...
Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Christ's kingdom now exists.

hi konroh:)
it's cool that you're addressing it. t.y.

"Comparing, then, what is said in Scripture concerning Israel and the Church, [a careful Bible student] finds that in origin, calling, promise, worship, principles of conduct, and future destiny--all is contrast." - C.I. Scofield

There absolutely is contrast: origin, Abraham versus Spirit-indwelling Pentecost; promise-land, nation, blessing vs. bride of Christ, worship-Mosaic covenent vs. "worship in spirit and in truth; principles of conduct-Mosaic Law vs. royal law of Christ, future destiny-promised spiritual and physical rulership, reign with Christ.

But there absolutely is similarity: origin-called by God; promise-all nations blessed, Jew and Gentile; worship-the Lord our God, the Lord is One, to the only Eternal Wise One be blessing; principles of conduct-"Be ye holy as I am holy, future destinty-New Jerusalem with tribes of Israel on the gates and 12 apostles foundation stones for wall
so you are amending what is said here:

1) "Comparing, then, what is said in Scripture concerning Israel and the Church, [a careful Bible student] finds that in origin, calling, promise, worship, principles of conduct, and future destiny--all is contrast." - C.I. Scofield

so in future destiny, all is not contrast...would you agree that is actually opposed to the Gospel?

since i agree totally with you here:

But there absolutely is similarity: origin-called by God; promise-all nations blessed, Jew and Gentile; worship-the Lord our God, the Lord is One, to the only Eternal Wise One be blessing; principles of conduct-"Be ye holy as I am holy, future destinty-New Jerusalem with tribes of Israel on the gates and 12 apostles foundation stones for wall
isn't that "the future destiny" (already in place; Promise fulfilled; 2000 years ago) to which ISRAEL was called?
so what purpose is it to comb OT prophecies trying to find some future destiny which is in contrast to the church (which is only SAVED ISRAEL expanded), the very Promise they were given?

was that the Promise they were given?
well sure it is.:) it's right here:

Daniel 9
Gabriel's Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks

20And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; 21Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

that's long over.
those is Jacob who repented were sought out (or were sought out and repented, if we want to go to election); and called; and saved; and made a kingdom and priests; and taught us all the New Way; and were first called Christians at Antioch:

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

and the gentiles are grafted in: "then to the Gentile"

and so, according to the Promise made to Abraham and his SEED (that He would be Heir of the world); he became the father of a great nation (which was fulfilled in Israel in Egypt, and is being fulfilled now - in Christ:), His Church, which was Israel's promise)

Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

...

and then:

the "basic premise of Dispensationalism is two purposes of God expressed in the formation of two peoples who maintain their distinction throughout eternity."

- Charles Ryrie in his book Dispensationalism Today (Chicago, 1965)

I would probably amend this to say that God has a singular purpose in forming a people of God but that this singular purpose is seen to be played out with both spiritual and physical emphases.
okay....so that's a big amendment and one i agree with, because that is actually what the bible says:

Ephesians 2:15
14For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, 16and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.

it says this was accomplished through the cross.

so can we even hold on to anything Scofield and Ryrie said concerning the eternal distinction?
because in reality, we know that entire system was originally based on two eternally distinct people with two eternal destinations: one on earth, and one in heaven.

so what happens with Dispensationalism is that it keeps getting amended (and rightly so), (Progressive Dispensationalsim etc etc).....because it is evident it is actually not just error, but is the absolute opposite of everything the Bible claims.

it's the Promise to Abraham that we have to look back at; and that's the very place (Gen 12:3) guys like John Hagee throw the switch:

...

"Everything Christians doshould be based upon the Biblical text. Here are seven solid Bible reasons why Christians should support Israel.

1. Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed.” Point: God has promised to bless the man or nation that blesses the Chosen People. History has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the nations that have blessed the Jewish people have had the blessing of God; the nations that have cursed the Jewish people have experienced the curse of God."

Why Christians Should Support Israel | Cufi

okay....Hagee is placing the very salvation of everyone on this nebulous "blessing the Jewish people" - this is his actual gospel. he believes THAT is what determines one's salvation.

no matter how he denies it, it's right there: "the curse of God"

but he got that from the Scofield footnotes, where it was inserted by Oxford Press; that very institution established for that very purpose - to print that reference Bible. they combined two passages to strike terror into the hearts of Christian Zionists:

1) the sheep and goats judgement, which the footnotes claims is about how the "nations" (gentiles) treated the jewish people (saved or NOT saved)...in other words, instead of it being the GWT where individuals are first separated by what kind they are (saved people in Christ/sheep vs unsaved/goats), the jesus proceeding to say the unsaved did nothing to help the least of those HIS BROTHERS - meaning christians (jew or gentile)

....Scofield, or rather Oxford press actually wrote into the footnotes that the GWT is a separation of NATIONS - countries...and they are separated and judged based on whether or not they blessed what is essentially now we see, the State Of Israel

2) together with the corruption of Genesis 12:3 - but that is not what Genesis 12:3 says - it is God speaking to Abram.

look again how they do it [ABRAM] insert mine (read the whole chapter):

1. Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless them that bless thee [ABRAM] and curse him that curseth thee [ABRAM] ; and in thee [ABRAM's SEED - CHRIST] shall all nations of the earth be blessed.”

what does Hagee do with it (Scofiled and the others before him)?:

Point: God has promised to bless the man or nation that blesses the Chosen People. History has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the nations that have blessed the Jewish people have had the blessing of God; the nations that have cursed the Jewish people have experienced the curse of God." - John Hagee

.....

is that what Genesis says?

this is Idolatry!

they have taken out the Blessing - CHRIST - and replaced Him (the ULTIMATE REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY) with the State of Israel (which was in the works when the Scofield Bible was arranged, through men like Samuel Untermyer).

they made - the nation State of Israel - the ENTITY through whom all the nations (gentiles) will be blessed.

now this is outrageous...not because Jesus did not come through Judah and not because God forsook His election out of Israel - neither of those things is TRUE.

not because we are now supposed to curse the jews or anyone else!

it is outrageous because it REPLACED Jesus as the Promise; and placed a curse on the gentiles that God did not DO!

He sent Jesus to BLESS the jews, and to BLESS the gentiles - with an everlasting salvation!
not a State and Dominion in or from this Jerusalem.

if there IS a curse on anyone (see the sheep and goats judgment) it will be on those who KILLED CHRISTIANS and persecuted THEM!

how many times do we ignore this glaring red light issue?
we are apparently willing to go to any length, to bless unbelievers (with an enabling that is not the Gospel; it not saving them; it is not Jesus Christ's message); killing and hurting and displacing CHRISTIANS in the process (even though they continue to cry out WHY? WHY?)

How far do we carry the distinction? Why is New Jerusalem described as with the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles? Why would this be the description? What purpose could there be in continuing the distinction? Are we not all one in Christ and in God and in the Spirit? Yes, but for some reason God emphasizes in His eternal New Jerusalem the twin truths of 12 tribes and 12 apostles. I will maintain the distinction as God does.[/COLOR]
yes we are all of His Household.
but we are in total agreement that God is KEEPING His promises to them:

"New Jerusalem described as with the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles"

Ephesians 2
A Temple in the Lord

19So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, 20having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord.

now what about these varieties of Dispensationalism that say this promise was NEVER OFFERED TO ISRAEL?
that it excluded them as a commonwealth and a nation?
or that because some rejected Jesus the Kingdom was POSTPONED?

can that possibly be true?

if it is, this is NOT TRUE, since there is no FOUNDATION:

The kingdom of God was "within" the Pharisees? What did Jesus have to say about the Pharisees?

Matt. 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. . 14) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. . . .15) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! 16) Woe unto you, ye blind guides. . . 17) ye fools and blind:. . . . 19) fools and blind . . . 23) Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hyppocrites. . .24) blind guides . . . and so on and so on. And Jesus is going to turn around and tell them that the kingdom of God was "within them"?

within you - endos - i.e. the midst of you. The kingdom of God was "in the midst of" them by and through the person of his Son, Jesus Christ.

The strong man = Jesus = Living word - The strong man - We rise up against the strong man and stand against him so that Satan cannot bind us and make our house desolate (ourselves) so that he cannot destroy us.

The prince of this world must not have been cast out (he is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4). And if he is bound now - what do we need the armor of God for -(Eph. 6:12)? Why are we told to not be ignorant of Satan's devices so he will not take advantage of us (2 Cor. 2:11)? And how is he walking about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8)? If God binds something and in chains - believe me it will be bound; just as he shut the doors to the ark where no one could enter after Noah and his family.

Yes, he triumphed over them - He proclaimed the fact that they thought they killed him (1 Peter 3:19) but his Father raised him up - now instead of dealing with "one" Christ - Christ now dwells in each born again believer (Col. 1:26,27) - and his (Satan's) end is assured. Had they known this they (the princes of this world) would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Cor. 2:8).
Christ does not need to return to earth again to bind Satan, He already accomplished this at His first advent thus Satan cannot stop the furtherance of His kingdom. Jesus Himself viewed Satan as bound in Matt 12:28-29. Also, just because Satan is presently bound does not mean we shouldn’t pray to God and put on the armour of God.

If God binds something and in chains - believe me it will be bound; just as he shut the doors to the ark where no one could enter after Noah and his family.
Is the great chain in Revelation 20 literal?

Math 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Saddusees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?(8) Bring forth therefore fruits suitable for repentance. (9) And think not to say within yourselves, we have Abraham to our father; for I say unto you that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. Sure. We can look at it that way. Christ's kingdom is not an earthly one that can be observed. It was in their midst through the person of Christ but they become translated into it upon receiving the gospel. I notice that the bible portrays the kingdom as a present reality for believers as well as a future hope, just like salvation. This kingdom in which believers presently reign in with Christ will be finally consummated in eternity in heaven.
I hope that sort of makes sense.:)

The strong man = Jesus = Living word - The strong man - We rise up against the strong man and stand against him so that Satan cannot bind us and make our house desolate (ourselves) so that he cannot destroy us.
is that what the passage says?:

Matthew 12
Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit

22Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw. 23And all the people were amazed, and said, “Can this be the Son of David?” 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.” 25Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. 26And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

29Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. 30Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

"we" are not in that passage.

it's about Jesus, telling the Pharisees, who according to tradition; believed that by cutting the flesh (a practice from Egypt) of a certain body part; and etching incantations is the skin, one could through sorcery, perform "miracles"

..

Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

the subject is:

“Can this be the Son of David?”

the Pharisees said:

“It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”

it says they actually said that...but it also says Jesus knew their thoughts.

Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. 26And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

so what thoughts would they be having, that would cause them to actually utter that blasphemy against The Holy Spirit?

“It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”

Jesus makes a direct link to Satan.
so what was in their thoughts about Satan, Beelzebul, the prince of demons, being the power through which Jesus cast out demons?

Mark 3
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.”

....

the point of that passage (for this discussion), which Jesus takes directly to Satan IS:

But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

the kingdom of God had come upon them.
that's the point. and it was in The Person of the King, Jesus Christ, standing right there making the claim.
He Himself explains the meaning, when He says SOMEBODY binds the strong man, and plunders his house...the subject being demon possession.

who is the strong man possessing people?
Jesus didn't say it was US, and He didn't say the strong man was Beelzebul.

He said very clearly the strong man was Satan, and He, Jesus, was stronger....and had BOUND up the strong man and was already plundering his house.

it's really clear.

and of all passages to not mess with - it's that one.

CONCLUSION:

The Kingdom of God had come upon them (in that generation)
Jesus said Satan was the strong man (who had possessions)

Jesus said no one could be plundering Satan's house, unless He first bound the strong man - Satan.

by all accounts, in the Gospels the Land of Israel was filled with demons, which is a result of idolatry and sin, (Jesus came to set them free - right? castin out demons and healing the sick), and more so after the rejection of Jesus (Josephus).

...

the very same chapter in Matthew proceeds to Jesus saying:

Matthew 12
The Sign of Jonah

38Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” 39But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. 42The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

Return of an Unclean Spirit
43“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”

i don't think we know how serious it all was.

So you are expecting a tangible kingdom with signs? But Jesus said the kingdom does not come with observation...

Christ's kingdom now exists.
When Jesus Christ comes back (the second time) are people going to see him and see what he does on the earth? Are they going to recognize him as he comes out of heaven with armies following? Will they see him as he is? Would you consider this being with observation or will they see him only by faith when he comes? Which is it? Does Christ bring the kingdom of God with him when he comes and will he judge the nations at that point and have dominion over them? Will the nations see him and his kingdom and be subject unto his kingdom when he comes and casts the devil into the lake of fire where the beast and false prophet already are? You and others don't want to answer those questions directly because it would reveal something you do not believe. The second time he comes will be the tangible kingdom that all will be able to observe and those who come with him having already inherited through Christ. Now we have the church and body of Christ and we walk by faith in the promises of God. After he comes we will be like him and we will walk and serve with him and reign with him for 1,000 years over the nations. Such a beautiful and simple picture that God has made available to those who will receive it and for those who don't, oh well, their loss.

She's been duped by the wrong premise like so many have and they just can't see what's coming. The church taken up through a resurrection, a time of trouble for Jacob, wrath for the children of disobedience, salvation for Israel through the second coming, nations to be judged, a kingdom installed upon the earth, a 1,000 reign with Christ, a swift battle and the creation of a new heaven and earth with all of eternity to look forward to forever and ever. Things to come!

we do not lift up a kingdom

We do not draw anyone to a kingdom
i know you don't.
you can't now.

...

Daniel 2:44
"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.

Matthew 3
1Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, 2"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." 3 For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said, "THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, 'MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT!'"

Matthew 10:7
As you go, proclaim this message: 'The kingdom of heaven has come near.'

Mark 1:15
"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Luke 16:16
16“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is strongly urged to enter it.

Yep indeed she has. And it is very unfortunate. She used to be for the Pre-trib. Rapture and I believe at one time she also believed in the Biblical Doctrine of the 1,000 Year Literal Reign of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the Earth.

But then, she fell for the deception of the Heretical Amillennial teaching.

yay starfield!
you go girl....:)

Zone, you are actually rejoicing over the fact that a sister in Christ has ceased to believe in a Biblical Doctrine of the word of God?

When a person stops looking for Jesus, that is a very serious and sobering thing that can happen to any Christian.

In fact it is so severe and serious that it will affect their rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

One of the rewards and crowns that is given at the Judgment Seat of Christ is the Crown of Righteousness. And that specific crown is given to those who love the Lord's appearing (2 Timothy 4:8).

So the Christians who are falling for the post trib. teachings will lose their Crown of Righteousness at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

We are told to look for the Lord.

We are never told to look for the New World Order or the antichrist.

There is absolutely no bible verse (not one) that supports a pre-tribulation rapture or a future 1,000 year reign. So why not say farewell to this doctrine, ChosenbyHim?
