Why as a believer I do not celebrate Christmas or Easter With the Rest of the World

Sorry, misunderstood. National holidays are not religious holidays and yes, I celebrate those. I was referring to those holidays that have a "religious" basis.

What if God wants you in the world , going to parties, not to hoopla the food and presents but to reach others to Christ. You mentioned the Holy Spirit does that work and doesn't need a holiday to work. True. He doesn't need anything, He can work despite us.

But, what if the HS is working during the holiday in you but you are choosing not to work. Is it an uncomfortable feeling for you is my question? Maybe, it's a social issue for you and not a spiritual one, because all you say just reeks of legalism.

By spending money and giving gifts to friends, especially those who are not Christians, this is an example of Love and doesn't it say in God's holy, inspired words that "of faith, hope, and, love, the greatest is love.' :)

I like what your saying. Jesus never celebrated a birthday or christmas . So if im to walk in his footsteps and strive to be upright like him, I shouldnt celebrate any holiday. Can anybody show me in the word where it says we are to celebrate a hoiliday?

Show me where it says you can not.

Jesus deficated and urinated, but we dont read about that in the Bible, just because things are not mentioned in the Bible dosnt mean it happened. The Gospels are not a daily dairy of Jesus.
 
God says pray not to any idol. The christmas tree is an idol. The easter bunny is an idol. The flag is an idol. Every holiday has an idol intwined in it. The world celebrates holidays. As a believer the bible clearly states be in the world but not of the world.

We celebrate Christ's resurrection but don't call it anything but that :)
We honor the Passover as well acknowledging God's love for those who obey him

Not to mention nobody showed me where Jesus celebrated a birthday...The bible clearly states to watch and pray. Occupy yourself with holy works until the coming of Jesus. It doesnt say watch pray celebrate holidays.
 
Interesting how many of you are quick to pass judgement towards others who observe holidays without asking once how one observes it.
Apparently, because I admit to celebrating Christmas I'm worshipping satan.
I just returned from the post office where I mailed new clothes to a 15 year old girl who lives in poverty and her father died of cancer last week. They have no money so I as well as a few others went shopping for a total stranger I never met.
Just before that I was grocery shopping to make food baskets for needy families in my community.
A few weeks ago I helped put together care packages for the local national guard unit stationed in Afghanistan.
Last month I purchased a teddy bear for little boy who had his stolen. There was a news story about it. I got in touch with the mother and sent this boy I never met a new bear to replace his that was stolen.
I could go on and on but I hate bragging. I'm only telling this stuff to share how I "celebrate" Christmas. I give to others. I help others. I do it all throughout the year as well and I never expect anything in return. So while many of you are pointing fingers and screaming "SATAN WORSHIPPER" I'm thanking The Lord for the ability to be able to help those in need. Especially when I'm struggling myself. I put others before my own needs and I know that God will take care of me and my son. So far he hasn't let me down. And I'm confident he never will.
That's what this time of year means to me. Helping others. How satanic is that? Merry Christmas y'all.

Jesus' birth should be celebrated daily.
 
I understand what your saying. I dobt pass judgement on anybody cause I dont have that athourity. What im trying to say is to celebrate is to observe and the bible says everyday is the same. So no day is more special than the next. What you donis what you do.
 
You give praise and glory to his name everyday not celebrate his birthday. His birth was to show that a Iing was born and the saviour has come.

Praising him would be celebrating. I'm not talking about having a party with cake and candles and pin the tail on the donkey.
 
No its not to praise him is to let him know you love and adore him. Thats praise
