How many times do we go to google for our answers to our problems instead of God? There's probably one thing worse than self-help books, it's self-help webpages, particularly the quack ones.
Oh, so that's what you meant. Well, that depends on the problem. I think we should avoid the either/or scenario. I heard someone say once that when confronted with a major problem one should "work like everything depends on you, pray like everything depends on God." Like, when I was unemployed I prayed hard, but I also worked hard to find a job and I found my current job on-line. The internet made it handy but the real credit goes to God. I think it's unwise to pray
instead of doing everything we can (which may invovle internet research) instead of in
addition to everything we can. See, I think that if I just prayed for a job but never actually looked for one, hoping that God would prompt my current boss to call me, not the other way around, then I don't think He would have answered my prayer because that would have just been catering to my sloth, and trust me, God never encourages me to sin. See, I think we'd all like to think that praying to God can replace hard work on our part, but it doesn't work that way.
