When I was young, and the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie was still new, my parents got me a Sherwood Forrest play set. It was amazing, and I had it and played with it even after it was so broken and destroyed you really could do anything with it anymore.

I wish I could say I got someone something awesome, but I usually suck at buying things for people :p Is suck a curse word?

This is an awesome thread. Way to go Grace-Like-Rain! :)
One of my absolute favorite gifts ever received was a ski trip to Colorado with my brother. He furnished my snazzy, warm outfit with goggles to match (that made me look like the female version of the Michelin man), paid for all my food and stay, ski passes, etc. I had the time of my life.
But honestly, the blessing of having him home for Christmas this year after a 9 month tour in Afghanistan is something I am grateful for to an even greater extent. I thank the Lord for His amazing mercy.

Haha... Misty77, he is significantly older than me, but is already married. Sorry! Not to sound cliche, but he IS the best brother ever. :)

Weird is awesome.

My son has said that the best gift he got was the sonic screwdriver (10th Doctor's) that I gave him last year, even though it doesn't actually open locked doors.

It was probably my fault, iTOREtheSKY. I just made him sound too irresistible- considerate, generous, a veteran. Yah, it was just too much for her to hear without inquiring. :)

sort of a bump as well...

but another awesome Christmas gift I got was an XBOX 360...the real deluxe one too, with Lego Batman & Left 4 Dead 2.

I was so shocked that my ex had gotten it for me,because I never talked about getting one. I was content with my regular old XBOX. I'm not even a big gamer really. I have to monitor how much I play,'cause I can really lose track of time.
I sold my system a while back. Maybe someday again I'll pick one up. I do miss playing Angry Birds. lolz

On my 10th birthday I brought home a kitten (they were being given away at the park) and my parents let me keep it even though my dad hates cats :)

I was obviously not paying attention when i read this. I thought you meant one of those flavored drinks from Sonic. It would explain my confusion as to why i thought it odd you were surprised it didn't open locked doors.

I would be sooooo very happy if Sonic served screwdrivers!! But that would probably make the drive home a little too interesting. . .
