This is a great video for women to watch. The woman giving the speech is the owner of Rey Swimwear, a bathing suit company that focuses on having their suits be modest and honourable to God. I hope you enjoy and learn something out of it!

This will be a debate. Just like the other modesty threads. Usually its a woman that resents the idea that they should have to think at all about what they wear and that those dirty dogs with no self control (men) should just learn to control themselves so women can wear anything they want, no matter how revealing. Thats usually how it starts.

I think it would be easier if girls just dressed modestly, and guys knew how to control themselves in whatever environment they are under. I know that it could be a heated debate, but from what I grew up understanding, it is important for girls to not make guys fall under all that temptation. It is one less temptation they need to worry about.

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I agree. The responsibility falls on both genders. But, sadly, some people believe their gender should have zero responsibility. Seems like it should be such a simple idea but people seem to take offense at suggesting biblical modesty.

"...guys knew how to control themselves in whatever environment they are under..."

When I was younger (I once was) I was exploring, like a scout, with some friends near the coast and we got to a nudity beach... How could I know how to behave?

I don´t go to the beach now. I know what they wear (or wear not) and I now I´ll be in troubles looking at other´s property.

Modesty in my house! No other place to run now.

Do you think I would marry someone who wears those fashioned things now? No! That is exhibisionist and, If I could, I wouldn ´t like to share what I only can see.

Call me a fool for not allowing myself to dance Salsa (A thing I hate) because it promotes cheating and extramarital relationships.

The whole modest is hottest line is just a way to make modesty appeal to worldly desires. Modesty isn't about making yourself "hot".

Modesty is definitely not about making yourself look hot. It's about leaving things for the imagination I suppose no need to bother and show it off, to me it's better to wait

If you want to keep your husbands heart use wise discretion. Our conscience can easily be seered with a hot iron and lead us astray. Don't let the world set your standards. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in all truth. Avoid all appearances of evil. Do not provide stumbling blocks for weaker sisters or brothers. Don't argue this topic with Godly men, sister. Let Godly mature woman judge this topic. You are a young Christian woman. Seek Godly woman's advice. God bless you daughter. Sincerely, Brokenclay.

Do you think it perhaps could go even further than this in going the extra mile with Godly intent?
What if it's not to leave something to the imagination
...but more to help the imagination from even being used in that department,
to prevent it from even going there
:)
think about it

Yes I would agree with this. Sorry I did not intend to give the wrong idea.

Thank you for your input. It may have looked like I was arguing, but I was agreeing by what a majority of the people have been saying. It is the responsibility of everyone, the men to learn self-control, and the women to simply cover themselves. I am young, and I am fully aware, and I posted this to simply receive clarity from wiser Christians. I find interest in this subject, and did not intend to start any conflict, just clarity. Again, thank you for your great input.

People on this site tend to read into what you say. I understood your intent in this post and in each of your responses. Even if the wording may not have been ideal (for some people) i understand your overall attitude and didn't see anything to pick apart (as some have) nor did i see anything argumentative.

Also, when mentioning wiser Christians, it is Christians regardless of how old they are, or how "much they know" about the faith. It is simply about how their experiences made them a better Christian, and how they utilized God to help them through certain situations. Christians both old and young have been through tribulations and have faced difficulties in their life. What matters to me is the people who are reaching out here have better solutions and have learned from them and acted upon them, rather than just read it and learn from it dryly. That's the type of people I'd like to reach out. The ones who act upon their claims.

Well said. I am sorry for firing words at you like you were the enemy. And sorry for any humiliation I caused you sister. My reply was more re-active. I will leave this topic alone. God bless you.

I don't think it should even be left to the imagination, as it shouldn't be imagined. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think modesty should be advertised with the tagline "Modest is hottest". Modesty isn't supposed to appeal to the flesh.

I suppose. It's just a tagline, a quicker way to give off a greater idea. It can be misinterpreted and misunderstood despite its simplicity.

If we're going to dress modest, should we be exactly clear on what we mean lest it be questioned
should we leave room or opportunity for debate?
If it appeared I was trying to pick apart anything I do apologize.
More what my attempt was is helping another sister in Christ make evidently clear her intentions.

Why should we be at all in any way compromised to suit the general populace.
Too bad
If Modesty means something to us, lets say it clearly.
directly
To the point
Some people may word something to be a little less confrontational, a little less conflictive.
Why? To be politically correct?
Sometimes as it is said the first response is the one we really mean.
And often times people may use others wordage and run with it.
I didn't mean to pick apart.
As I mentioned I was helping a sister to be clear.
Leaving something up to others imagination can still send a message
We've all seen old movies where the intention of a scene was implied
A dude shot off a rooftop and falls (no blood no gore)
Yet the intention and perceived message was still clear...perhaps even worse, dreamed up in ones head when all we really saw was a guy fall off a roof.

If we're going to be modest for God, should we not go the extra mile and make it blatantly clear what modesty is for in our intentions.

Matthew 5
40
And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

If we're gonna go the extra mile at all shouldn't we start with Gods word itself in what is pleasing to him and stop catering to ourselves.
What does die to the self really mean if one doesnt do it
