We've all heard men and women complaining about the many existing flaws of the opposite sex. It's true that sometimes these complaints are valid, but does mere whining actually do any good? We can get caught up in an endless cycle of pointing fingers, or we could choose to edify one another and to express thanks to the God that created BOTH men and women and made us all different and unique.
This is a place to give thanks for the opposite sex. Examples include:
Thanking God for making men/women in general, and explaining why you're thankful.
Thanking God for a particular member of the opposite sex (such as your father, brother, mother, sister, etc.. or even a member here on CC!), and why.
Thanking God for certain Christ-like qualities you see in your brothers/sisters in Christ.
This is not meant to put one another on a pedestal, but rather to give thanks to our Creator, and to edify and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. One of the things that delights The Enemy the most is to see sons and daughters of God spewing hatred towards one another and forgetting to love one another. I would be honored to have you join me in combating some of that hatred.
Humor is welcome, but negativity is not. I know I can't control what anyone posts, but please, for the love of all that is good, if anyone posts anything about how men/women are horrible because of [insert reason], just ignore it. There are plenty of other threads where discussions like that are already taking place.
"I thank my God every time I remember you" - Philippians 1:3
I'll start
- I thank God for my father. He leads not by words, but by example, and the few times he does speak, there is great wisdom that comes from a heart that is full of Christ, as well as from many decades of enjoying God's Word. He has a quiet, humble strength, and has always pointed me to Christ. I know I would be extremely lucky to find and marry a man who loves the Lord and leads with humility the way my father does.
- I thank God for my many brothers in Christ who are actively pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord. It's an incredible sight to see, and I am blessed because I know God is glorified in the process.
- Servantstrike, I know I haven't really talked to you much, but after observing your posts for some time now, I am blown away by your heartfelt desire to edify and encourage your brothers in Christ. I thank God for you!
