Dear praus,

Do you understand that if somebody is in a committed relationship then according to that definition they're not single?

What has misty77 go to do with this?

Perhaps I should look at this for another definition:

Dear praus,

Do you understand that if somebody is in a committed relationship then according to that definition they're not single?
You're not understanding the difference between "or" and "and".

Here's what you think it says:

: not married and not having a serious romantic relationship with someone

Here's what it really says:

: not married or not having a serious romantic relationship with someone
What has misty77 go to do with this?
Her writing might be over your head, she uses long words...

Perhaps I should look at this for another definition:
What does it say?

Seriously. Stop with the debate on semantics. Respect Loverneverfails' request and make your own thread on it.

Generally speaking, if you have to ask how the word "or" works, you're not going to understand Misty77, right?

Praus, that one sentence is the highest praise. But maybe we should have a grammarian forum so this lovely thread can get back to the topic at hand. =)

Dear praus,

Her writing might be over my head because she uses big words? Arrogant much? This is incredibly immature and old school stuff.

What has understanding her got to do with this anyway?

The stuff you post is out of context like much of hers.

Hmmm!

Since you are thankful to MEN...

I´d like to thank God and jesus for sending all that people He (they) once sent to preach in Caracas (even bringing their families on vacation trip to preach)

Doug Hardman (a Texan preacher, who is now in charge of a Christian college)
Tom Powell (my best pastor and friend, now in Cincinatti)
Eric Barry
David Lynn and his brother Brent (with their wives)
Jim Dye (and family)

Etc., Etc.

You know God, the rest of that long list.

You know, usually finding the exact point of off topic inclusion leading to diversion of thread original intent, is very hard to find.
But for ONCE it was easy to find!

By the third reply in the thread, someone had already made the amazing leap in subject matter by asking a whole new question.

Link-->http://christianchat.com/christian-...hankful-god-made-men-because.html#post1339055

I'm making a point of pointing this out because often it's not as obvious and blatant.
This diversion started a lovely self feeding, self reciprocating downward spiral.

Now please, if you want to discuss the definition of single...Don't do it in this thread.

Do it in this thread...

Link---> http://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/81530-how-do-you-define-single.html

This isn't a moderator request.
This is a statement of you better do it.

Please keep this thread on topic.

*shrugs* didn't mean to offend anyone. My boyfriend and I are in a committed exclusive relationship. It's all about word choice. When people ask me if I'm single I usually say no because they tend to misunderstand what I mean. Legally speaking, one is single prior to being married. That's all I meant, guys. Even on CC, when you enter your marital status, you can choose married or unmarried..there's no "in a relationship" status like on Facebook :p

Thumbs up for the blimey cow reference, though! ^_^
Only way someone would have been offended is if they are trying to start trouble.

I'm thankful for so many of the amazing men who have been in my life: My stepdad, my stepbrothers/brother, my husband, my son, co-workers, Pastors, men of my church, bosses, neighbors and friends. They have given me love, wisdom, respect, confidence, and protection. I have learned many things from them that I really don't think I could have learned from other women.

P.S. ... great thread :)

I am grateful for my friend Praus.
He was among the first people I became friends with. I don't know how it exactly started (I think he sad good evening from LA, and I said good morning from Bangalore :p) but I really feel that it was God's grace that allowed me to have an encounter with him.

He is my best friend.

He's been to India and he knows the culture and that's just awesome!
I was pleasantly surprised to find an American who knows so much about India and when we discussed different aspects of culture I've found he's more Indian than even me.

He's extremely, extremely , extremely smart!!!!!!
We've had so many discussions on Scripture, philosophy, science and the world and my dear brother has always been gentle in correcting me on the right path. He's been one of the few people here, that I can have long discussions with, without ever getting bored.

Where some people have just left me with no answers and stumbling, my brother has always subtly brought my focus to Jesus.

Praus' testimony is amazing and so beautiful, whenever I lose track and question and doubt, he brings up what Jesus did for him and that makes me cry!
Many times, I've prayed for him and many times he's prayed for me. Whenever something major happens, I know I can reach him with a quick message asking him advice and prayer.

Also he's one of the funniest people ever. He makes me laugh so much!!!
Some people might get tired of the so called ''trolling'' however his posts are so very intelligent, if you get the message that is :p

Oh btw, he tries to troll me but he fails :D:cool:

I haven't posted on forums much, but I was following Praus' every post. Many times, I've burst out laughing seeing what he's written, he's just brilliant. (And he always goes back to Scripture)

I just LOVE him. I love him sooooooooooo much. He's probably mad at me right now for this post. Whenever I praise him, he goes ''-.- now everyone's going to think I am nice''

So I conclude by saying He isn't very nice. But He's the nicest person to me. He's always been respectful to me and always hears me out. In fact, he's the first person to hear me out :)
I can't express how much I am grateful to God for him. He's the friend that meets my mind and my heart. He's my big brother. I wish I could elaborate more but it would just go on forever.

I love you Praus, you're my brother in Christ. I hope we get to continue being friends for a long time, and when I drop in to visit you, we should go fishing.

(I know Praus, you're probably going ''oh no'' but sorry. It was either this or create a Praus Fan Club)

Sure sister Buckets, maybe we haven't kept logs, but you'd have to ask Praus.
His hard drive is probably a treasure.

You can always drop me a pm or find me on chat. If you choose to come on chat, I'll either be in prayer room or Bible Study.
I love discussing about God and Bible. I would really enjoy talking about that and speaking to you.

God bless you sis.

I thank God for my dad. He always had time for me when I was little. I was his little ''princess'' and he spoiled me every time he could (maybe sometimes too much lol). Looking back, I now see that he was so gracious to me and my brothers. He always helped us with our homeworks even after a long day of work, he would play with us and take us to the park, and every Christmas he would shower us with presents. He disciplined us, but he didn't bully us or discourage us from being children. He has always worked hard to provide for us too. And in so many ways and so many times, when my mom didn't show affection, he did it for her. And he still does. :)

Wow I think I might need to tell him this.

I'm also thankful for those pastors and elders who stand up for truth. I just recently started attending a different church, but I'm grateful for the genuine godly leadership they have exhibited so far :). We need more godly leaders like that in a generation that only wants to hear what's convenient and easy.

First and foremost, I am thankful for my Heavenly Father, who created me with a purpose and for allowing an unclean sinner to be a part of his wonderful family. I' am thankful for Jesus, who has showed mean what it means to be a real man, by showing true love, being caring, walking with humility, leading by example, and always, for embodying the word of God. Also, my little brother, who I love dearly and who I am very proud of, for being an awesome example to me what a man of God should be and do. My mother, who has always been there for us, when ever we needed her and truly a woman after God's own heart. Last, but not least, all the God-fearing, kind, generous, lovable, intellectual, caring, and humble women/ladies of Christian chat, for filling this site with a Godly class.
