It sounds really silly to me to call a man my boyfriend at my age. I usually say "my man" at this point in my life.

Anyone have something better? Guys, what would a man prefer to be called?

I have to agree.
Commonly used labels are annoying.
boyfriend/girlfriend
significant other

I think at a certain age, the labels thing goes extinct.
If you're with a person, you can describe that to others with a simple nod or something.

I never give it any thought, truly. I'm just a strange little bird, I guess. I don't intend to ever have a boyfriend or marry so I never really think of what I would call him at my age. :) I would probably still say my boyfriend or my betrothed, since I believe in courtship. :D

I can't use stud finders because I'm always setting those things off!

I have to pound a lot of nails in the wall before I can hang shelves...

Yeah, i've had the same thoughts. It sounds so high school. I think i kind of got past it when i started noticing in tv and movies that people were still using those terms as adults. So i kind of got over it, but would like something else if possible. But i think it would be difficult because boyfriend/girlfriend are such universally understood terms. Trying to utilize another term may not be so clear. Even as was suggested before, beau, many people may not get.

And manfriend. No. I think that sounds more weird haha. And sounds platonic.

men like titles :) my suggestions: Duke, Sire, My Royal Lordship, The Mighty Quin (this one may work best if his name is Quin), My Liege

Or you could call him your gentleman friend
The more I post the more I just agree with boyfriend is kinda strange after a certain age

Old Man has a creepy Fatherly thing to me.

Betrothed reeks of Obligation and a Stilted Romance.

My Man, sound a bit Country.

Boyfriend, sounds temporary.

I think I just prefer... "Mine" and forget about labels and timelines. People ask too many questions as it is. So what if I want to date for like 2 or 3 years before we throw the M word around.
