im really sorry if my previous post came across as though I were fishing for compliments. I know how annoying that can be. I was just genuinely hurting. I know I am created by a loving Father, and my doctor also says I am healthy, so I know I *shouldnt* let my mom get to me...but sometimes it's really hard. I wish I could just turn off my sensitivity sometimes and "toughen up". There are certain people who's approval we crave, I guess. Its something I'm working on.

This is so true, Love. And a mother should do all she can to build up her children, not tear them down. It hurts my heart to know that you aren't feeling that from your mother. I have no idea why she would do this... perhaps out of insecurities of her own about her own body, or a misplaced idea of what is important. I'm adding you to my prayers tonight. It's hard.

(Of course you weren't fishing for compliments! No one would ever have thought that. I'll make you feel even more awkward by telling you that you ARE a beautiful, beautiful young lady - and that is not an obligatory, empty compliment. There's no way that you need to lose weight. Please don't let your mother's opinions effect the view of yourself that God would want you to have.) **HUGS**

Hmm... Well he knows Christians from my old university. I don't know about him though. He's 23 which is fine- he looks my age. But I dunno if he's interested, or if he would take a relationship serious at that age. Or if he's interested in me. Or if he smokes pot. He talks laid back, so I'm thinking he might. I know the sort. Hmm.
 
Because I mentioned this in another thread a few minutes ago, it is now in my head and I would just like everyone to know how scary the inside of my head can be...it looks like THIS sometimes...

I am going to the doctor's today. I think I have Sciatica, that is when a disk or something else is pushing on the sciatic nerve. I am in a lot of pain. I have tried everything to relieve the pain but it won't stop. I pray I am given something to make this pain stop. :(

oh, no! I had that while I was pregnant, and it was terrible. Praying for you!

Today is cleaning day for me. And grocery shopping day. And band practice day. Yikes. I have a lot to do. >.< And then, later, game night at one of my youth leader's house!

Ugh...my prayers to you. I hope they can relieve that pain. I totally know what yer' dealing with,because I prob suffer from the same thing,and I refuse to go to the doctors now for years,even though some days I am in severe pain. (Yanno,I try to tough it out & be all manly)

Oh, but since she's Filipino she doesn't say "fat" she says "healthy". I know that seems backwards to most people, but trust me, to my mom and most of my Filipino relatives, "healthy" = "fat".

Anyone else find that older people tend to reference people by their racial background?
 
I wrote this on a piece of paper today and have it sitting where I can see it so I can remind myself and take some deep breaths:

"I do not worry and am not anxious because it makes me feel healthy, stress free, and relaxed. I know that God is in control no matter what.

Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious in anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

I look over at read it whenever I feel a little panicky or stressed today. Many things going through my mind. It helps remind me.
