I was at a seminar once and unbeknownst to us all the women had to stand up and go to a micro phone and say why we were thankful for men. That was years ago and i still think about it and cringe!

I am only participating in this thread to say that i will not be participating in this thread :D

Oh, come on, Nod. I'm sure you could find plenty of things about me as a man to be thankful for:

1. My deep emerald green eyes
2. My dazzling charm
3. My ability to derail a thread and have it focus solely on myself
4. My daily example of being humble.

The list of things to be thankful about me could go on on, so pick one Nod. PICK ONE!!!

HEY, I'VE GOT AN IDEA! LET'S BEAT THIS TOPIC INTO THE GROUND UNTIL WE EXCLUDE EVERYONE WE CAN! THAT IS THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING I CAN DO TODAY!
Or we can be sarcastic jerks?! Whatta ya say?!

Oh God forgive them because they don't know what they're doing . Can we move on with the actual thread please?
Where were you when I started my threads?! LOL!

You know, usually finding the exact point of off topic inclusion leading to diversion of thread original intent, is very hard to find.
But for ONCE it was easy to find!

By the third reply in the thread, someone had already made the amazing leap in subject matter by asking a whole new question.

Link-->http://christianchat.com/christian-...hankful-god-made-men-because.html#post1339055

I'm making a point of pointing this out because often it's not as obvious and blatant.
This diversion started a lovely self feeding, self reciprocating downward spiral.

Now please, if you want to discuss the definition of single...Don't do it in this thread.

Do it in this thread...

Link---> http://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/81530-how-do-you-define-single.html

This isn't a moderator request.
This is a statement of you better do it.

Please keep this thread on topic.
And so the administrator finally comes around ... It's good to see you. But, I would have been good to see you weeks ago when my threads needed a policeman. One on patrol would have found many miscreants deviating my topics.

So fess up; why are you here for something I've never seen you do in other threads (viz. defending something as apparently frivolous as the direction of a thread)?

I have at times sympathized with you, but you're showing yourself to be a sufferer of whiny male syndrome.

Welcome to CC, where the threads are never on topic, and everything is made up.

You know what guys?

I would appreciate if we could please drop the "single" topic, or move it elsewhere. Please feel free to start a new thread about the definition of the world single. I'm not being sarcastic, I mean it. I'd be glad to join the conversation if it was moved elsewhere. Feel free to quote my original post about it, too. But please do not continue to bicker here. :)
Oh, my friend, do you not know that things don't work that way around here? This is what I've been taught by those who consider this website their own; many of those whom you may consider as good internet buddies.

I tried to speak to them as you are here. They retorted with the fact that in this website, any thread started can be answered in any way regardless of the opinion of the one who started the thread, or the topic which it was based upon.

One, DuchessAimee, was even so audacious to say that if I didn't like it then I should "git outta heer!" ... lol

I'm telling you this so you can know not to expect any special treatment with your topics.

Don't blame us ... blame your buddies.

Learn to just go with the flow. Also, it can be very beneficial to make a point of failures, but there comes a point where if they aren't having any of it you just have to drop it and leave it.

EDIT: Admittedly, I thought about the remarks I'd like to make on this thread to some individuals. The words and actions of some really make me question that they are thankful for men, but rather just a few individuals who made their personal expectations.

If the only thing you do is complain, such as you are doing, it really makes it sound like your problem isn't with particulars, but rather with the gender. It's easy to fall into the battle of the sexes garbage, but we must avoid it with great effort. It is worldly passions raging against each other.

Paul Washer? That calvinist?! What are you trying to do, make me into a heretic?! ;)

I need to grow up? You mean when I'm mature enough to ridicule someone with pictures of little kids crying? Jimmy, you're grown up, but not very mature.

Dude, I get it, but do you have to curse??? lol

Whatever you are, I don't want to be like you. You are not the sort of man that I look up to, and you, sir, are no good example.

But the Spirit is telling me to stop. He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

See ya!

Seriously. Stop with the debate on semantics. Respect Loverneverfails' request and make your own thread on it.
Same expression I'm using ...

Remembering my requests on my threads ....

... sigh

Actually, brother, pretty much everyone eventually respected my request and moved the "single" topic to the new "how do you define single" thread. To everyone who did that, and to the admins/mods, thank you. <3

I sympathize with many of your complaints, but I think you have let it consume you. You remind me quite strongly of my time at /b/. Often the threads were filled with mutual back patters who just complained about women.

Paul Washer? That calvinist?! What are you trying to do, make me into a heretic?! ;)
No heresy, but I'm not interested in making you a Calvinist, because I can't. I can't change your heart, only God can. I can point out that you're heading toward a cliff of self-destruction, which I do so motivated by love. I understand some of your complaints, and would even agree with them. I just think you need to not let it disrupt your walk with God.

I need to grow up?
Yes.

You mean when I'm mature enough to ridicule someone with pictures of little kids crying?
J
Sure.
Jimmy, you're grown up, but not very mature.
I'm not very mature, that much is true. I am thankful that the men of my church gather on Wednesdays for a men's only prayer and bible study, focusing on the issue of how to be men according to scripture. I have been quite convicted about my personal dealings with the opposite sex, as well as having been shown how much responsibility there is for a male in a relationship with the opposite sex. It's really quite frightening to me when I see that I will be held responsible for the things that happen under my leadership.

We must seek always to be men according to scripture.

Dude, I get it, but do you have to curse??? lol
I guess I don't really see "crap" as a curse word per se, but I will refrain from using it with you if it offends you.

Whatever you are, I don't want to be like you.
I'm not asking you to be like me.

I'm asking you to be like Jesus.
You are not the sort of man that I look up to, and you, sir, are no good example.
I agree. You should not look up to me, and I am not a good example. I was quite rebellious before I became a Christian, and I shunned the efforts my unregenerate father made in teaching me the skills necessary for a man. I have short-changed myself greatly because of that, and I regret it very much. I hope that you will grow in Grace, and seek daily to be a man according to scripture.

Women don't need a boyfriend, or a nice guy. They need a man.
But the Spirit is telling me to stop. He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

Why do you now stop, but never before?

It seems that you, and some other users here are two sides of the same coin. Hating the other gender.

I'll be around. :)

Art05,

Marriage is for sanctification. Ephesians 5 compares it to the relationship we have with God. We must learn to love unconditionally, people who are unlovable. Christ has loved us, when we were unlovable.

You'll never find the "perfect woman" because they don't exist. You should, however, listen to what scripture says.

Proverbs 31, though often women think it's for them, it's actually addressed to males seeking a wife.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb!
Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers!
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Do not spend your strength[SUP][a][/SUP] on women,
your vigor on those who ruin kings

Read it, it would be good for you. It will help you avoid some you shouldn't be with.

You might want to edit that. ;)

I tend to be more controversial than a peace keeper. I'm not well liked 'round these parts. I am quite despised by a large number of people on CC.
