I'm going to make a reciprocal thread for the men, but I would really like to see some honest answers from the ladies without a free for all. Thanks :)

I was thinking it might be more constructive to use past hurts as a learning experience rather than getting all negative about it, you know? Let's all learn from one another in a more civilized way, please?

Question 1: How would you like to be treated by your special man? Not a bunch of rules, etc., but how you honestly would like to be TREATED :)

Question 2: How would you like to be treated by men in general?

Question 3: How are you conducting yourself in order to bring what you would like to see in Questions 1 and 2 come about?

A lot of people would rather read here than visit other sites.

How would a man go about making you feel cherished? Can you be more specific? The guys read that and I don't know that they really understand what we mean, you know?

What specifically about your behavior are you wanting to become more Christlike to bring about what you desire in a relationship?

1. With respect, mutual respect for each other. Understanding that I am not exactly like him and have my own way of doing things. I would like him to take some interest in things I enjoy.

2. Again with respect.

3. The motto treat other's as you wish to be treated is good to follow. I'm not a perfect wife and I've made mistakes, but I do try to take interest in things he enjoys, like Science fiction and music. I also consult with him when a big decision needs to be made. That would be like something with the kids or a large purchase or refinancing our home.

As time has gone on I feel that both of our relationships with Christ have grown. That's helped us have a good relationship.

you're right, i just 'fail' on these forums, so this is my last post.

wish i had never tried to contribute in the first place, should have known better.

that was my expression, that was what came from my heart... and i had a feeling it would be torn down.

thanks,
it's been nice talking to you all... in the best way that i knew how to express myself, but i find this forum a feeding ground of sharks and a den of thieves more often than not.

depending our 'popularity' with the in cc crowd forum posters, we are either shunned or rained on with applause.

i quit.

sincerely,
me.

1) Well, i ask to God send this special man every day, i would be treated by a man who's really respectful, and he'll respect my decision about virginity before marriage, and he'll love me just the way i am, and open the car's door.. And he'll be my partner like prayers, study bible, solve problems together
2) I think respect is all that matters
3)Meeting the right one, i mean the christian man, who'll understand me...

Lav, I love ya, but you gotta chill, girl! She was just asking for clarification and more detail in your answers. There was nothing that said your responses were wrong or in some way a ''fail''. Chatting about responses is the conversational way of the forums, not an attack.

Gentlemen, if you have something to contribute about something here, just copy and paste the question to/answer it in the men's reciprocal thread or create a separate thread about that specific issue. Will ask the ladies to do the same in our thread. :) Maybe we'll all learn some stuff! :)

lav, I'm sorry if you took my request to expound/be more specific as some type of criticism. I just asked the men to do the exact same thing in their thread while you were posting here. Nothing personal.

I don't know you and am not familiar with your previous posts, but if you have a personal issue with me, please send me a PM. If you have an issue with this forum, please create your own thread in that regard or post in the Streams thread rather than derailing this one.

Thank you for your cooperation and God bless! :)

Can we get back on track now, please? Thanks! :)

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY BEING "CHERISHED"?

What do we ladies need to be doing in order to bring that about?

My Dearest sister Lav,

Nothing you said was "wrong", I agree men should love their women as Christ loved the church, that is sacrificially, to DIE for her. This would mean being selfless. Unfortunately a great number of men fail to realize that they are wanting their women to do everything for them, and to give so much love, but they are not willing to reciprocate. Lav, what you said was fine! I think no one was against what you said at all. You had a valid point. Good job! Love you

So... you want a man to be mannerly, understanding, respect the decisions you've made in your walk with Christ (protecting your virginity, praying together, studying the word together, discussing decisions/problems as a couple (as Fenner also said).

Good stuff. :) I think most Christian women desire these things. :) Thank you! All of the things you've spoken about here help a woman trust a man and develop an intimate relationship with him...and I'm not talking about sex here. I'm talking about REAL intimacy. Heart to heart stuff. Core stuff. :)

What do you feel a godly woman should be doing in order to convey to a man that this is what you would like in your life? How would you treat such a man in return? What do you think he might be looking for in you?

1. Hmmm I'd want my future husband to be fair..treat me with respect and always be honest with me. I'd want him to cherish me just as much as I cherish him. I'd want him to lead me, guide me and protect me.

2. I want men in general to treat me with respect and just be polite.

3. I'm being myself? While God works on me. In regards to men in general..I make it clear I'm not interested. I don't flirt or encourage anything. I treat them the way I'd like to be treated. Politely with respect.

Selflessness. Great word! :) Anything more? How does Christ deal with us on a personal level/daily basis that shows He cherishes us?

Do we, as ladies, always behave selflessly in relationships? How should we be conducting ourselves in order to encourage a man to be "selfless"?

Mutual courtesy, gentleness and respect are becoming clear favorites here :) Thanks!
