It certainly depends on your skewed view or lack there of what dating is,doesn't it?
If your idea of dating is to use a woman to get "what you want" sexually or otherwise,then YES it is EVIL.
If your idea of dating is to get better acquainted with a woman to learn more about her...listen to her heart,hear her thoughts & bond with her in a deeper way than just "Yo',sup? What's yer' sign?"...ummm then dating can be a pleasant thing. Then again...this is my opinion & you know what "they" say about opinions,right?

If dating comes from the World, then it's just plain evil, since the evil one is the prince of this fallen world !
How many thousands babies per day are sacrificed with abortions on the altar of dating ? How many thousands men and women per year are sacrificed on the altar of dating because of STDs, broken hearts leading to suicides, etc. ?
And the list could go on and on...

I left one thing unaddressed in my haste to get back to what I was doing. People become depressed and suicidal for all sorts of reasons: abusive marriages, bad grades at school, being mistreated on the Internet, job issues, etc. Do we lock ourselves away in towers somewhere or do we get help, mature in Christ and trust God to give us godly wisdom regarding the life choices we make, including dating choices?

What you called " having sex " out of marriage is called fornication and adultery in the Scriptures. Since fornication and adultery always happen in the worldly realm of " dating ", then yes you get unwanted pregnancies/STDs from " dating " !

Since the Lord created the man in His image, the man has a natural wisdom to create all kinds of useful things.
But we live in a fallen world, and " dating " doesn't come from natural wisdom, but from the world's fleshly spirit :

Not necessarily. I think casual hook-ups are more common, at least with the younger crowd. (That's sex without having to pay for dinner first.) I know many people who date without having sex. I know "courtship" people who sneaked off to motels. Really, anytime you get corresponding parts in relative proximity, sex can happen; but that doesn't mean that the brains attached to them always let that happen.

Then you & I,my brother are both in GROSS SIN now,because we are both in a chat forum which is on the internet...both created by man...both used for evil...both designed & born of carnal thinking. So we use both for good,even though both the words "internet" and "dating" are "worldy" terms. Do you not agree? I'm just saying,if we are to break it all down...what is at the heart of a man? If Jesus looks at a man's heart & the man's heart is right & pure before God when he is engaging in dating or using the internet to talk to fellow believers,how can this be evil? Either way. meh.

You do realize that you have just borne false witness against a lot of Christian people who date and do not have sex by making such a ridiculous statement, right? That you have labeled innocent Christian brothers and sisters in Christ who date as fornicators and adulterers with your words?
Please consider the damage you have done to your credibility by doing so.
